Miranda is a gem . She worked hard while with us for a week and just tore into each job with enthusiasm and gusto. I was delighted with the help she gave me with weeding, clearing hogweed and clearing and tidying up our driveway borders( no mean task). Miranda was great company and a joy to have in the house. She was very interested in learning about Ireland and its culture and that made it easier for us. I would highly recommend her to other workawayer hosts. You would be lucky to have her.

Dear Rohit, It was a pleasure to meet you. You showed a lot interest for the building and garden stuff. You were a big help for me and the farm and did so much more then I asked for. The sun was burning and we finished the complete compost toilet and had great aftertalk at the lake. Thanks a lot and hope to see you again (we haveto play table tennis) ^^

Idil helped us harvest dates and was a really fantastic worker, always on time and ready to do more. She is polite, dedicated, responsive, sociable and into solving problems. She will always be welcome to work here in the future, and any Workaway host would be fortunate to have her at their place. +++++

I stayed with Gordon for a little longer than a week. Being in the desert is an interesting experience that I would recommend if you are willing to be away from the city for a while. The tasks were simple and rewarding. I enjoyed waking up with the sunrise and working a few hours and being done so early in the morning, it gave me the whole day to rest or catch up on reading; we watched a few documentaries and movies together. Gordon cooked for us and there was an abundance of dates, they are yummy! We visited the Indian Canyons which was beautiful and there was a small waterfall with very refreshing water. Another day we drove around Slab City which was very interesting. I would recommend coming here to anyone looking for a special experience.

Our experience with Alice and her family at her animal shelter was nothing short of magical. As an avid animal lover myself, I had a feeling that so long as the animals are well taken care of that I would enjoy the experience. What i didn't expect however, was just how much of a haven Alice has created with her shelter. Alice treats all her workawayers like one of her own, and you feel welcomed and settled right away! The shelter is very go go go, and last minute urgent cases can come in given it's an animal rescue, so work hours will need to be flexible at times. However, Alice always makes sure you have days off and down time. I wouldn’t recommend this workaway experience to anyone who wants to come to Sardinia just for a nice vacation - the work is intense at times (especially in the summer as sardinian heat is no joke!) but it’s all incredibly important as you’re working with the livelihood of animals and upkeeping the standards of the shelter! So it’s really important to look after all the animals properly. It’s all worth it and you do have down time to do your own thing, but it is volunteer work so requires a certain mindset to be able to do it! If you know what you’re signing up for and are willing to work hard when needed, you will have the most amazing experience. The animals here are super affectionate as some of them have been around humans their whole lives! It was perfect for our first workaway experience, and i can’t wait to be back there again and can’t think of anything to possibly have improved our time. Alice’s partner Giuseppe was a great help too and a lovely person who you can always count on. It was a delight to get to know Alice’s two lively and sweet children who are both a credit to her. And Alice, is simply wonderful with the biggest heart you can imagine. I cant recommend this workaway enough. Especially as a couple, this experience was perfect. Thank you for everything Alice and family, we love you! Until next time, Becky and Jack :)

This was my first Workaway experience and it was fantastic! The family were very friendly and welcoming throughout my 2-week stay. I walked their dog (Mike) twice a day which I really enjoyed - especially in the evening as there are amazing sunsets! Mike is a very friendly dog who would wait for me at the bottom of the stairs in the morning to go for a walk. Ethan (9 years old) would sometimes accompany me on these dog walks - he speaks very good English so we were able to communicate well. Sometimes we would play robots and transformers together as he likes playing with his toys inside. Liam (4 years old) always has lots of energy, so I would take him to get ice cream, play in the park or play games with him in the garden. Francesco was always willing to take me to nearby villages and towns so that I could explore and informed me on local history. Daniela was very friendly, always asking me if I was ok and if I needed anything - we spent lots of time together, I enjoyed our conversations and learning more about her life and Italian life in general. Nonna is a very good cook and she prepared Italian food including ‘Ciambella’ which I really enjoyed. Overall, the family are very welcoming and they included me in all their family activities. I definitely recommend this host for other Workawayers! Thank you Francesco, Daniela, Ethan, Liam, Nonna and Mike!

There's very few unforgettable experiences in my life that passed too quickly, and my time volunteering in Phayao was one of them. I'm also excited to state that this was my very first time teaching English in a classroom setting. The director of this foundation and the teachers and staff at the school were extremely friendly and helpful. I left America to travel the world and teach English in Asia for a job, but I discovered my calling to teach for humanitarian purposes. This foundation helped me discover this passion. Even though I only taught for two weeks at the school, I know my efforts will have a lasting impact on the students and I know I inspired them to continue studying English- one of the most difficult languages in the world. I recommend this opportunity to anyone that likes to teach or wants to try it, and loves volunteering and helping children gain an important language skill to use for the rest of their lives. 5 out of 5 stars, A , 100%, and the gold star goes to... this foundation!!

I arrived at the shelter in mid-May and was supposed to stay for a month. In the end, I stayed for almost 3 months because I loved it so much. At Alice's, it's a little corner of paradise. What I experienced there was much more than a workaway adventure. It was an extraordinary human adventure. Alice taught me so much about animals, life here and in general. Life at the shelter requires common sense, a spirit of adaptation and solidarity. Nature and animals are in the front row and it was a chance to be able to wake up and fall asleep near them. I know them so well that I can now tell with my eyes closed which cry comes from which hen or rooster. Alice and her family take great care of you. you'll never be disappointed. She will always find a solution. The work is varied but never onerous. The hours are flexible, as long as the animals are fed and well cared for morning and evening. It's also a wonderful place to meet other volunteers from all over the world and share our cultures. I recommend this place 1000% if you love animals and have love to give them, if you appreciate nature and small gardening tasks, and if you're not afraid to get your hands dirty, go for it! The elements of life made i had to leave, but in reality I am not far and I remain connected to this wonderful and magical place. Thank you Alice for your generosity, your smile and your joy of life. As we discussed, you are my example now.🥰😍

Lucy stayed with us for a couple of weeks in July, and it was truly a wonderful experience. From the very beginning, she became part of the family. She was incredibly sweet and patient with our children and especially with Doug, our dog. She spent lots of time playing with the kids, and they absolutely loved being around her. She also took great care of Mike and even came with us to the dog wash! Lucy is a very respectful, reserved, and kind person. One of the things that impressed us most is how flexible and capable she is—there wasn’t a single task she couldn’t handle! From helping around the house to ironing (yes, she ironed all of my shirts perfectly—something quite rare for someone her age!), she was always ready to lend a hand with a smile. She also had many lovely conversations with Nonna, who enjoyed telling her about our traditions and our town, Gravè. We truly recommend Lucy to any host. She’s reliable, mature, and incredibly helpful. Hosting her was a joy, and we hope she will come back to visit us again soon!

I stayed for 1 month, and would have loved to stay longer if my current situation permitted it. Everyone is kind and the cultural differences are good experiences. I want to thank all the people living there for such a good experience and a wonderful change of pace in life. I worked on many different things, such as cleaning, wood working, a bit of mechanics (for people with a lot of car knowledge and expecially not recent cars, this place is a gold mine) and finally gardening a bit. All of these activities were enlightening and fun to do. To conclude, a wonderful time and experience awaits you if you decide to open yourself and come to this magical place.

Starting my volunteering journey in Malaysia at this farm was such a perfect "appetizer" that got me more motivated and excited for the next hosts, Kak Muni and Chik Lah really know how to host volunteers, they have built quite a thoughtful and well organized system YET they treat every volunteer with a genuine care and attention. From the very first moment.. they listen, they notice the small things, and they make sure you’re not only comfortable — but truly happy — every single day, especially while doing your tasks. As Chik Lah often said: “It’s all about enjoying what we do.” My experience here was truly enriching and heartwarming. I learned new skills on the farm, challenged myself with tasks I never knew I could do, and left with a heart full of gratitude. We shared meals, stories, and laughs. I especially enjoyed cooking. Thank you for creating a space where people like me can feel at home while learning and contributing.

Gui is a very happy and helpful person, it was lovely to have him around. He was willing to do different jobs and we had a lot of good laughs. The only thing that was difficult sometimes is het language, his english is not so good, so sometimes it was hard to understand eacht other. But we found our way around and his english improved big time over the time he was with us.

Emilia and Esteban are a cultured and charming couple, with whom it's not only delightful to have endless conversations fueled by wine and mate, but also to share life in general. They are both talented guys, lovers of good food and good music: epicureans, just like us, their hosts. Our dogs loved them from the very moment they saw them (even I was jealous). They generously taught us how to prepare Argentine delicacies and helped us repair a wooden floor; they pampered me when the flu kept me in bed for three days, and they did it with so much love. Thank you, guys. Please come back soon to your home in Colombia.

Moréniké is an exceptional soul. True to her African roots, strengthened by the knowledge and experience acquired over three generations in the United States, where she was born, she possesses the best of both cultures. And this is reflected not only in her cheerful face with its naive smile, but also in her exotic cuisine: a blend of crisp flavors, yet smooth on the palate; silky, yet powerful. Thank you, Moréniké, for all your unpretentious teachings, and for wanting to return to your origins to make the Earth a better world. This is your home in Colombia. Come back soon. We love you so much!

Lea is a little marvel. She has a tender and generous heart, and a brilliant mind dedicated to serving others. She works like an ant, and always does so with a charming smile, whether she's making cheese, growing food in the vertical garden, or preparing delicious French cuisine. We fell in love with her refined manners and strong character. This is your home, Lea. Come back anytime. We love you so much!
