I cannot speak highly enough of my time at here and I am so grateful to the entire staff & management for making my stay so enjoyable. I helped out as a yoga instructor and with hosting activities and had so much fun it didn’t feel like work at all! Their volunteer program is set up incredibly well so from on-boarding onwards, you know exactly what is expected. I also appreciate that our time off as volunteers was always respected - I was never asked to do more than exactly what was outlined, and their system of sending the schedule out so you can see what you’re doing for the next 2 weeks made it easy to plan adventures in my time off. They also choose volunteers well - I had so much fun getting to know my co-volunteers and they were such a pleasure to work with. Originally I was to stay on for about a month, but I ended up extending to 2 because it was so comfy and felt like home. Thank you so much Ruth, Ashton, Nique and the whole team! Missing you with all my heart ❤️

My experience with the KRS family was one of the best of my life. The people there are whole hearted individuals working as one single family. They are so hospital and welcoming, they introduced me to their families and showed me the area around the village. I lived with them there were they built a school and have kids aged 4 to 17 schooled and housed there almost all year around. I got to teach the children and enjoyed the experience a lot. I would suggest to anyone who loves nature and people to try this place!!

Sara agreed spontaneously after someone else cancelled at short notice, helping me out of a difficult situation. With her cheerful, hands-on manner, she was a great help with my children, the animals, in the garden and in the kitchen. She is very good with horses and also a good driver :-) With her keen observation skills, openness and interested questions, she also enabled me to see my everyday life through different eyes. I could rely on Sara 100%. My children really enjoyed spending time with her. We had a wonderful month with Sara and I very much hope that our paths will cross again!

Claudio and Carol were the perfect match to take care our animals and home during we stayed away for a while. They fed all the animals on our small farm, they kept an eye on each one of them and cared them with love just the way we do. The days we spent together in our homestay were joyful and enjoyable. Carol filled our kitchen several times with her amazing cooking, we loved to try chilenean food! Claudio helped in our large garden, weeded patiently the overgrown paths. Both are very warm-hearted souls and have brought a little more gentleness and calm to our often chaotic&wild Laotian family life. They were never tired to play games with the kids, teach them some spanish and have pleasant conversations. We hope to see you again!

I write this reference with a heart full of gratitude and a home that feels suddenly too quiet. Sabina has just left our house and her absence is profoundly felt. It is without a single reservation that I recommend her as an exceptional Workawayer and a truly remarkable human being. From the moment she arrived, Sabina filled our home with her infectious enthusiasm, genuine friendliness and a profound sense of responsibility. Her kindness is not merely a trait, but a practice that touched me deeply. She approaches every task and interaction with an open heart and a willing spirit. Our time together was a beautiful tapestry of shared experiences. We had the pleasure of exploring the wonders of Kenya together: from the wildlife on Crescent Island in Lake Naivasha to the panoramic views from the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). We wandered through the vibrant City Market and Masai Market, shared stories over incredible Nyama Choma in Kitengela with my brother, Lennox, and she marveled at the beauty of the Nairobi National Park, the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Centre. But beyond the adventures, it was the quiet indoors moments I cherish most: sharing cups of her traditional Argentine MATE, laughing together and simply enjoying each other's company. Sabina has an impeccable authenticity that makes her a joy to host and a light that lit our house. She doesn't just visit; she connects, she shares and she becomes part of the family. Lennox and I are already missing everything about her presence, and the house feels hollow without her presence. If you are looking for the best Workawayer to host, look no further. You will not find another like her. Sabina, thank you for coming into our lives and for sharing these amazing memories. Our house and our hearts remain open for you, not just here in Nairobi, but also in our village in Mombasa. Lennox and I wish you endless joy in your travels. Please carry our heartfelt regards to your wonderful family back in Argentina. Karibu tena! Kenya (You are always welcome again in Kenya!) With the warmest regards, Ngao

We stayed for 2.5 weeks at Alev’s beautiful ranch and loved every moment of it. The place is located on the edge of a cute little village in the mountains, just a short drive away from the coast with an amazing natural beach - the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of nature far from the sounds and lights of the cities 🌸 Our days found a very enjoyable rhythm: mornings and evenings we fed and cleaned up for the very lovely animals on the farm, and spend a couple more hours each day doing some weeding and gardening work, or helped out with anything else that needed to be done (eg. cooking, cleaning). During the hot hours, we always had a long siesta break, perfect for relaxing at the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. The working hours are very fair, and depending on what one enjoys/is skilled at, there are plenty of options to work on different things. If you have experience with horseback riding, you’ll be treated with magical rides through the surrounding hills. Alev and her friend Refik also took us out on day trips to the beach and are two very lovely and inspiring souls to spend time with. The food is absolutely incredible with an abundance of local fresh produce available to cook with and Alev being an amazing chef and baker! We feel incredibly lucky that we got to spend our time here and would recommend the place to any fellow Workawayers who love animals, appreciate the quiet, are independent, and enjoy being outdoors 24/7. For us, it was the perfect place and we’re already planning when to come back 🥰 Thank you so much for everything, Alev and Refik!

It was a wonderful experience. I didn’t meet Jan in person because he was in Germany, but we stayed in touch during the three weeks and I often shared what I was doing. I worked with Lucas, a great guy who guided me through the experience. We had many deep talks, and he always made me feel welcome. He invited me to lunch with his family and even took me to his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym, which was amazing. Lucas and everyone I met were always very kind, helpful, and welcoming. They are truly fantastic people. The last week was hard because of some bad news from home, but Lucas was very understanding. I also met a couple of Jan’s friends and talked a lot with the wife, who was very caring and tried to comfort me. The place is beautiful, surrounded by nature. With the bike they gave me, I explored the area and even tried surfing in Nazaré. In the evenings I enjoyed the sauna, a swim in the pool, and the sunsets behind the house. I stayed in a tiny house instead of the main one, which made the experience different and special. I spent time on my own, grew a lot, and learned more about myself. It was a truly enriching experience.

Jenny came to us for a few weeks and then stayed a little bit longer this summer. We were delighted she did. Jenny was such a helpful hand around the house. She has amazing initiative and self direction. I hardly needed to tell her anything. I was really impressed by her organisation skills and her keen eye for detail. Jenny is kind and chatty, thoughtful and considerate, curious and independent. She also makes a mean kiesershlop! 😋😁We really loved having you with us this summer Jenny. Thank you 💚🙏💚

Tomas, you were such a wonderful workawayer. The moment you enetered our house I could feel this wonderful energy of yours. You greeted every, single day with smile and humour. You were an absolute pro in the kitchen. Your breads and apple tarts were absolute works of art. I enjoyed every single moment we shared from cooking together to dancing and biking and my absolute beginner's Spanish conversations. You are one of those people who never complain but complete every task as fully as you can. You did a great job in the former goats' house ( I already have a vision of this room aa s place of great creativity:). You helped so much in daily tasks, so many delicious lunches and dinners, so many wonderful moments by the dinner table. And my kids, they will always list you in their most favourite workawayers' group (one day you will be invited for the big workawyers reunion I'm sure) The kids loved cooking with you, playing pin-pong, dancing on our party night, they will always remember our bike trips full of delicous plums and apples. Tomes, I just can't find words to express how grateful I am for this time. I just hope our paths will meet again soon. (And they will. Yes they will!) Muchas gracias Have a beautiful camino and Nos vemos pronto

Having Eden and her cousin Montana at our place for 10 days was really fun! They are both full of enthusiasm and we had lots of good laughs together. They were both very respectful and considerate and got really involved in the homestead activities. They are always happy to try new things and give their best. I would definitely recommend them both (and also Thom which we met afterwards when they came back for a visit a few weeks later). And we would be happy to host them again one day, in Montenegro or France! Thanks girls, missing you!

Thank you so much for still remembering me and taking the time to write such a wonderful feedback! It brings me great joy to know that you have such good memories of me and this place, and that you enjoyed learning Kouksundo so much. I often keep my profile deactivated because I simply cannot reply to all the inquiry emails I receive. I’m truly sorry that my profile deactivation made you wait nearly two years. For reference, you can always click on the profile picture next to Workaway email to leave feedback at any time :) Although I don't remember every detail, I have a strong memory of you being very diligent and passionately dedicated to every task. Because of your visit, my impression of Germany has grown much warmer! To the hosts of the world: I have welcomed many volunteers to my home, and even after two years, the impression Mafra left as a trustworthy person remains strong. If she contacts you, don't hesitate! :)

I spent five blissful weeks through late summer and I miss it every single day. The work itself is exceptionally well organised: you may support with housekeeping, cooking, gardening, construction, or babysitting depending on your interests. A schedule is created each week with flexibility for your days off, and you'll work around 5 hours a day which is beyond fair for what you get in return - a beautiful home, delicious home-cooked meals every day (you have no idea), comfy beds, and the sense that your work is valued and contributes to the functioning of this idyllic world that you all inhabit. Martvili is so serene. My days were filled with spontaneous group trips to swim in the river, lazing by the hot springs, running through the countryside roads, reading in the many cosy spots around the house, playing card games with other volunteers and guests, and chatting in the late evening sun on the balcony. I've seen the place in full party mode with dancing and singing late into the night, and also on slow rainy days where few guests are around and the electricity is out. I loved both equally. Thank you so much Ema, Woody, Lucas, Vitalina (and of course amazing Aurora, Koko, and Madona) for having me stay. I left here with endless happy memories, new friends, and fresh perspectives on the things that I enjoy, and what family, work, and parenthood can look like. I have sooo so much respect for you all and this crazy, beautiful place you've created. I'd love to come back again one day xx

The two weeks we spent here were an amazing experience for us. The work offered so many different experiences—working in the forest, making jam from berries we picked ourselves. Olli taught us so much about Finnish life, food, and traditional culture, making it the best memory ever. We were so happy because we love saunas! The smoke sauna was also fantastic ^^ Olli and Sari are truly a wonderful couple! We wholeheartedly recommend visiting them. Thank you both so much! Let's meet again in Finland or Japan. When we build our sauna, please come visit us ♡ Oli house is Yabai iine! Kitos!

I have visited Stuhlingen twice(in winter and summer, both times for about 4weeks), this year. Great people, flexible work and Pia's fantastic vegetarian cooking. Can only recommend. A la prochaine Stuhlingen ;-)

I had a lovely experience! I spent almost a month with Simone and her family. I learned a lot about horses and organic gardening and I found inspiration in Simone, who is such a kind and inspiring woman. I also had the opportunity to learn how to ride and train horses, which made me very happy. From the beginning I felt truly welcomed. Simone included me in her everyday life and gave me the opportunity to see and experience more, which allowed me to discover both Austrian and Hungarian culture. I especially enjoyed our last evening together, when we went for a walk with the horses and dogs to watch the sunset over the beautiful fields and then played board games. This peaceful place, full of animals to cuddle and care for, brought me so much joy. I will truly miss the animals, the atmosphere and the warmth of the people I met there. Hopefully our paths will cross again!

I spent the beginning of my first solo trip with Rosaleen and David and I couldn't have imagined a better start. I felt at home during these two weeks. The conversations with them were very interesting and also improved my English. But the five cats were also great company! David taught me how to make yoghurt, milk jelly and Irish soda bread - recipes that I will certainly keep! During my stay, I mainly painted benches and fences and dismantled a fence together with a workawayer from America. The work was easy and you could take your time. David was very insistent that I took breaks in between and spoilt me with Irish food. The house was super clean and my room was huge. I even had a bathroom right next to my room. The surrounding countryside is also super idyllic and peaceful and is great for walking or cycling to Lake Urlaur (about 40 mins there = 80 mins there and back). It's great for swimming and with a ruin right in front of it, it looks really great. I was always allowed to go grocery shopping with David and saw the various towns in the area and I was also driven to Croagh Patrick. Thank you again very much🤗

I spent a wonderful 14 days with Pastor Isaac and his family. We did everything together, and I was treated like a member of the family. The women prepared delicious traditional Ghanaian food for me every day – I especially loved the fufu. Keziah's breakfasts were also very good - I miss them. The pastor gave me a real insight into daily life in Ghana, allowing me to get to know the culture very well. We attended weddings, church services, and funerals. I had a lot of contact with the extremely friendly villagers and the parents of the students. The school project, which the pastor started, is truly wonderful. It gives students who cannot afford to attend a fee-paying school the opportunity and the right to an education. The students are very grateful and participate in lessons with great interest and attention which makes teaching a lot of fun. They were delighted with the school supplies I brought as gifts. I had the opportunity to teach the 6th grade, which consists of just 7 students. I would like to thank everyone again from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful unforgettable experiences, the excellent accommodation, and the family's hospitality. Saying goodbye to these wonderful people was really hard. Best wishes from Austria – I hope we'll see each other again!
