We had a wonderful time, the house we were given was lovely and Jan and Chris were even better. We felt very at home and cared for and they would go out of their way to help us. The work we were asked to do was fun, enjoyable, rewarding and educational. We cannot thank them enough for this great experience.

Changunarayan is a very beautiful village and my time in this home will always be cherished. Everyone in the house was more than accommodating and I will be sure to visit them again. A special place and wonderful people! I am glad I spent my first weeks in Nepal here.

Jean-Pol is an old French man and very active person. He was here to work (as he said) and he helped a lot with the solar electrical installation for the truck despite the fact that the truck was not there! Definitely he hard Workaway to recommend!

Gerrit met me in Swaziland (now Eswatini) to drive back my ranger and me the 6x6 truck. He arrived before the truck was ready and help to get it ready... but the dsay we were suppose to leave, a part of the gearbox broke. We then drove back together in the ranger and had good time. We became friend. He is a very calm person with good communication skills. A generous and passionate person about bitcoin. Now he is staying in one of my cottage as a friend.

I had a great time at Costa Paradiso. Sonia is a lovely, warm, engaging person. She cooked some lovely meals and I did some work around the house and garden. We chatted, explored and shared stories. Costa Paradiso is a magical place and it was a shame I could not stay longer.

Olivier and Coralie are first rate Work Exchangers. They are polite, fun, extremely helpful and use their initiative. They worked four hours a day in our garden, creating beautiful stone edging around our planting and they began a project that we've had on our To-Do list for five years. Every evening before dinner they were happy to play with our kids and they were like magic fairies, emptying the dishwasher and cleaning up after dinner. We enjoyed lots of conversations about Irish history and Olivier and Coralie were very eager to explore our county during their down time. They were up for joining in dinner parties and sea swims and both have a ready smile. We miss you already guys. À bientôt!

Paulina is an amazing passionate young woman, especially when she talks about her work with sled dogs in Russia. She is very knowledgeable about dogs and took good care of my 2 GSD/wolf dogs. She spent good time with granny who loves her and managed to improve her French a bit. We learned a lot about her and life in Russia & Ukraine. She on the contrary did not ask much about us, maybe something Paulina can reflect upon. Excellent overall experience and I strongly recommend her.

Mina and Sophie have no fear of work! They did everything from weeding the garden, preserving harvest, and clearing brush, to cooking delicious meals and picking seaweed. They are a fun, personable pair. They communicate well, know how to live peacefully, and can jam on many instruments. They remained calm and conscientious, through the the many changes in needs from day to day, including playing with foster kittens several times a day, cleaning, cutting apples and gathering thrifty finds. They really brought a happy energy along with determination to each challenge they encountered. Bravo and much appreciation!

I spent almost three months with Ley and her sons and I had a wonderful stay! She is a welcoming, kind and amazing person, and I am really glad to have met her. I spent my time on her beautiful farm mainly cooking and cleaning for groups of backpackers who came there for training courses, so I had the opportunity to improve my skills in managing large groups of people. The location is idyllic and I had my own private space with a caravan where I could be alone if I wanted to. But I was also included in various family events such as dinners and football games. I will remember the long chats and how I felt at home even though I was so far from mine. Oh, and also the incredible cuddles and games with Rogan, Mocha, Merlin and Junior :) It was truly a wonderful experience that I will cherish forever. Thank you Ley, see you soon!

I got to spend a week at the foundation and I could not have asked for a better first workaway experience. I taught a bit of math to the kids, they’re eager to learn and won’t take much time warming up to you. Jyoti, Nandini and Yashwanth are amazing hosts and treat you as if you were a part of their family. The accomodation provided by them is pretty comfortable, the food they cook is delicious and they are always ready to help you whenever needed. I had some very enjoyable and fun times with the hosts and the other volunteers. I’d definitely miss the momos from didi’s shop and the conversations that happened over them.

All in all, they are doing some really good work, and I hope to visit again soon :)

Cheers and thank you for having me!

Marcin, what a trooper! He did way more than most. Always there to give a helping hand. I unfortunately had just moved in to my farm with a house almost close to be called ' the house of horrors'. Rats, spiders, termites and birds. Perhaps lacking a bit in some English but welcomed my corrections. Always keen on learning new stuff. Not so good at handling building tools but got the job done. He never complained about the heat that can be hard on most. Unfortunately we didn't get as much time with the bees as we wanted but I will send a short video on the bit he missed out due to mechanical issues. Marcin, I hope you get those new glasses fast so you can see better. Good luck on your travels. Hugs Carina

Mark is a kind-hearted, generous and humble soul with many talents. The amount he is capable of, and is willing to do- which improves the space around him - is astounding! It was a true gift to be around Mark Hatfield. In a few months Mark framed in a new tool shed, did some finish carpentery in the bathroom, helped with our tree work, worked on the fire pit, and did a massive amount of yard cleanup. He is also a great cook and makes excellent spare ribs. Mark's attention to detail and quiet support of household dynamics was also deeply appreciated. Mark got along well with everyone staying here or near our household, including other workaway guests, roommates. neighbors, and family members who come for dinner. He treats everyone with exceptional care and consideration. He is a good listener, and took great care of the animals. We delighted in his sense of humor. He was fun to take everywhere and good conversationalist. He has now stayed with us twice and we'd host him again in a heartbeat.

I loved being in Sarann's school. I gained so much more confidence to be around kids and teaching. I enjoyed the cultural experience, being in this place very remote and all the joy we volunteers could be part of. Thank you and to all the lovely kids! 🫶

I am very grateful for all I could learn from Shirin or be inspired by. It was a great experience to learn about gardening, to join the daily life, to relax together or enjoy nice food. I also enjoyed using the kitchen 😄 Thank you very much!

We lived in the house together. I am happy that I got to know you, Asya, Adele, and Mete. We learned about plants and how to grow plants. Eva shared a lot of interestings about culture of countries and countries. We were cooking, doing food preparation, walking around, gardening, and spending time with and caring for horses. I miss you already, and hope we will see each other in the summer

Karo is hard working, a keen and quick learner and alot of fun. Karo is happy to give anything a go and turn her hand to any job that is required. Karo's enthusiasm is encouraging as She shares the load making tasks enjoyable. Karo is respectful, caring, flexible and responsible. Karo has a good understanding of family life and shares in the daily chores and responsibilities of maintaining a home; cooking food, cleaning, managing washing, tidying the kitchen, vacuuming and looking after the pets. Karo embraced the alternative life style, assisting with gardening, collecting firewood, chain sawing very large weeds, watering seedlings, planting seedlings, feeding ducks and chickens, mowing, weeding and planting comfrey. We ALL thoroughly enjoyed Karo's company and look forward to hosting her again.
