    Description

We are a family of five living near the historic village of Ardfert, Co Kerry. We are five minutes drive from the blue flag beaches of Banna and Fenit.
My husband and I experienced many years of wonderful exchanges as Workawayers in our twenties and now we are excited to host people from different cultures in our own home.
We have hosted Workawayers from France, America, Australia, Germany and Austria and enjoyed wonderful shared experiences swimming in our local beaches and exploring beautiful landmarks in Dingle and Killarney on fun roadtrips.
We share family meals and enjoy getting to know our Workawayers and learning more about their cultures.

Our family friendly home is located within five minutes drive of three award winning beaches on the north coast of county Kerry, perfect for swimming, kayaking (book sunset tours with Wild Water Adventures), boat trips, surfing (cheap board and wetsuit rental on Banna Beach), yoga or just going for long sandy walks. We have two bicycles
which you can use to cycle along the Kingdom of Kerry Greenway from the seaside village of Fenit to the nearby medieval town of Tralee.
Our home is suitable for one or two people seeking a comfortable, picturesque base for discovering all that Kerry has to offer. Our patio and wildflower garden offers beautiful views of the Sliabh Mish mountains. We are one mile from the historic village of Ardfert, Co. Kerry, home to the majestic Ardfert Cathedral and Ardfert Abbey, perfect for sightseeing and an afternoon picnic. Ardfert also has several eateries including a vegan cafe (Rustic Boowa) and restaurants like Kate Browne's, famous for its thatched roof and traditional Irish food. Within ten minutes drive, other eateries include
Spa Seafoods, which is famous for its locally caught fish and The Forge woodfired pizza in Fenit.
Extremely popular Irish pub with regular live music is less than a mile from our door. If you're very lucky you could catch one of the monthly concerts run by Cúl Street in the intimate venue out back. Check them out on Instagram. If you are looking for a big night out, head to Tralee with dozens of quality restaurants, pubs and night bars.
Within a one hour drive of our home is the iconic Killarney National Park, Ireland's highest mountain Carrán Tuathail and the Dingle Peninsula, the Gaeltacht region made recently famous by Star Wars.

We are a fun family of five who welcome respectful individuals who are good with children. We often meet our friends at nearby beaches for swims and social outings. Depending on our schedule that week there might be opportunities for hiking or further travel around Kerry.
If you stay in our house, we would appreciate if you would clean up after yourself and try to be quiet in the evenings when the children are asleep.
