Hello fellow adventures! :)
I'm Marcin, 30 old-ass. I just quitted my job to fulfil my biggest dream: to make a trip around the world and I'm thrilled about exploring it.
During my journey I pay attention to people. I think everybody is worth to spend some time to him, listen to his story. What's why I use hitchhiking, CouchSurfing and, of course, Workaway. Why Workaway exactly? It gave me a lot of satisfaction to help others in their own little worlds. Helping with guests, taking care of children, animals or the garden are small little things which we can do to make our planet a little better place to live. Sometimes you can do something what other people can't and sometimes you just help with daily routines but with smile and engagement. And that's a true spirit of this site, I suppose :D
I had a few positions before: I was working with collateral assets for the secound biggest bank from USA, working in the payment departament for a international parcel company and as IT guy with the CRM system. Maybe it seems serious and difficult, but please don't be afraid of me, I'm not kind of nerd talking only about numbers and computers. Everybody and everything is interesting for me!And my positions was a great help to save some money and set off to explore the world :D During my my student time I was working in hospitality which taught me an important thing - no task is too big, and I go above and beyond while working!
I'm an experienced volunteer. I helped in a hostel in San Agustin where my task was making a check-in for a guests and helping with some cleaning and DYI. I spent where almost two weeks. I was also a volunteeer on a farm in portugal where I took care of the animals and all the farm.I was helping with disabled people on wheelchairs, helping with organizing the concerts and big events in the city where I was studing and I was twice a volunteer on the World Youths Days, where I was working with people coming from all over the world in a hospitality unit. I'm not afraid with rolling up my sleeves and diving into physical job. To be honest with you, sometimes it's the best way to rest your mind.
In my free time I like travelling (you wouldn't say that would you?), hiking, riding the bike, doing workout, dancing, programming and learn about data science or just spending some time with friends and family. During my studies I join a english speaking club to improve my language skills and in result it's one of the reasons why I am so interested in meeting new people, learning about other cultures and exploring the incredible nature of the world. I am very open and sociable. I like to have a spontaneous talk about everything: from the weather conditions to the stock market investments, psychology, sharing crazy experiences etc. I love learning new skills. Every knowledge is worth gaining!
