Bea did an amazing job helping in the garden for two weeks. She has a good knowledge of and a love of plants which really showed in the way she worked in the garden. Bea was an independent worker, she completed each task thoroughly and took good care of my tools, including cleaning and sharpening all my secateurs. Bea helped with plant identification, weed management, tree and seedling planting, seed propagation for the vegetable garden and suggested some good tips for managing the garden. Bea exudes a warm presence, she was respectful around the house and it was a pleasure to host her. Thanks Bea :)

Thank you so much to Leslie, Jaco and the rest of the team for hosting me! I spent 2 weeks at camp over elections and it was the perfect place to be - quiet and relaxing with access to the river to swim everyday and beers at the bar each night. I spent my time taking photos to update the social media account - it was very flexible so I would work in the morning before it got too hot and then plenty of time in the afternoon to hang out or go into town. I could go on the cruises, rafting or tubing whenever a trip came up which was super fun and all of the guide staff were fantastic! Missing it already and will definitely be back in future!

Georgia was a very nice volunteer. We did some bamboo and farm work together. Cooked lots of food and enjoyed so many free times like rock climbing. We definitely recommend her to all other workaway hosts.

I had the pleasure to stay with Courtney and Sam for two weeks and loved it! The work was fair and we were happy to spend our time in the beautiful garden. With their cheeky humour, respectful communication and clear expectation, they made us feel right at home. Definitely recommend this place to anyone that enjoys helping wherever needed and wants some peace from the van- or hostel-lifestyle ♡ Thank you guys for everything, I couldn't have asked for a better end to my journey!

Thank you Bountlisth, Bountan, Bank, Beem and Bieu.. you will be forever in our Laos memories and in our hearts. With this workaway, you can really live the slow life in the countryside of Laos and have plenty of time to walk, relax, or work on your personal projects. Bountan will cook for you 3 times a day and she really understands if you have any dietary requirements: she cooked Laos dishes for us and we were like children at home :) We stayed 14 days and tried to help with: - English (but you can always use Google Translate if needed, no drama) + talk to Bieu, Beem and Ben.. they're very young so it's really good for them. Also Bank understands English and he is really kind and knows his job. - Creating contents for social media: drone shots, pictures, reels. Everything can help to improve the engagement and reach of the profiles. - Reception: check in and check out and everything in between. You must know how to: - use Excel - deal with Booking.com - speak English (if you also speak French or other languages.. is even better) - Google Calendar (you will be in charge of workaway messages and organizing people's stay) This is not compulsory, but if you really want to raise the level of the resort and create good service and value in terms of content and service for the place, we reckon this is what you must know. You are not on holiday; you are volunteering to assist and use your skills to improve the level and the place so it can be a better hotel and attract more people. Also, try to smile and offer the best service you can because guests will leave reviews as you're working for a hotel, also if the vibes are chill and the place really calm. You don't need to stress, just try to help and do the best you can offer.

(IT) Ho trascorso un periodo meraviglioso ospitando Camilla. :) (EN) I had a wonderful time hosting Camilla. She is a very fun, chill, curious, proactive, and patient girl. I really enjoyed exploring Taiwan with her! She knows how to enjoy the local Taiwanese lifestyle. I was quite surprised that she always managed to find very local food and places without my help! She helped me a lot with the daily maintenance of my apartment, cooking, cleaning everything, hanging and folding my clothes, and even making my bed every day, which was very nice and sweet of her. Thank you so much, Camilla! She also likes to share, which I enjoyed a lot because I love sharing as well! I learned so much about Italian culture, Roman culture, and the Italian language from her. It was an incredible experience hosting her, and I highly recommend her to all hosts! We had such a great time together. We also hung out with my friends, and everyone liked her. She is always making me laugh, she’s a very fun person to spend time with. Oh, and we will never forget going to Taipei 101 to watch Alex Honnold climb all the way to the top of Taipei 101! That was an amazing day! There is so much more I could share about how amazing it was to host Camilla. Camilla, you are always welcome back! You will always have a home here in Taiwan. :)

Laura is a wonderful young woman who stayed with us for approximately two months. During her time with our family, she was independent, kind, and deeply invested in creating thoughtful, well-prepared lesson plans for our daughter, Kaya. Laura was seeking a slower, calmer pace of life than what her previous job and lifestyle in Berlin had offered, and she truly embraced everything Costa Rica had to offer — from the beach to the rainforest. She loved taking in the scenery, going for walks along the beach, and spending quality time with Kaya. We also shared a few small adventures and drives together, enjoyed photography outings, and spent time watching Kaya ride her horse. We are incredibly grateful that Laura came to stay with us and truly appreciated the care, effort, and energy she put into teaching our daughter. She is conscientious, patient, and genuinely lovely, and she takes her responsibilities seriously. We would happily welcome Laura back at any time and recommend her wholeheartedly.

Island was a joyful and energizing presence in our community during the two months she was here. She is warm, bubbly, and genuinely social, connecting easily with everyone around her and bringing a bright, uplifting spirit to our farm. Her personality has a delightfully quirky, creative edge that made her especially fun to be around and added to the vibrancy of our community. Island is also kind and attentive with animals. She worked closely with a wide range of animals, some of whom can be challenging in their own ways. She approached them with patience, firmness, and compassion, and had great success earning their trust and cooperation. We are very grateful for the enthusiasm, warmth, and positive energy she brought to our farm during her time with us.

Thanks, Raúl. 😁This is my first Workaway experience and it is definitely one of my best memories of 2025. Raúl's house has a peaceful garden, with colorful birds visiting often🦜; the friendliest and loveliest cats🐱 and dogs🐶 accompanying me around; a very convenient location from the airport and to shopping malls; very comfortable home conditions for living, working, and relaxing; the best weather, nature, and endless sunshine... Raúl, Mario, and their friends, they are all very warm to me. I learned about Panamanian culture, enjoyed delicious local food and drinks😍, got inspired by their amazing artist stories, watched movies, brainstormed entrepreneurship ideas together, explored the roof🤣 and moto, and celebrated many beautiful life moments. 🥳🥳✨️✨️ The experience is very safe, comfortable, welcomed, and unique. I highly recommend. Cultural exchange, meet some nice and cool people, and make friends! Thanks, Raúl. Thanks for being gifted - can always creating art, laughter, and pleasure in the smallest details of life; for being brave - always open-minded to different cultures, travel, and adventures; and for having a pure heart - helping kind people and becoming one of the best reasons that people love the world. Hope to see everyone again in the future!😄

Holly is a compact powerhouse; she’s the kind of person who you hope comes back for a second stay! She happily blasted through a variety of chores that included flax cutting, tree releasing, tidying the workshop and garage, cleaning the pool and weed whacking. She’s great with communication and super fun to be around. An asset to your work team!

Where to even start- Anna Lena and Saar exceeded my wildest expectations for a workaway. They welcomed me into their community with open arms. The work was meaningful and fulfilling and they continuously checked in with me to make sure it aligned with what I wanted to do. Frida is an incredible toddler and an absolute joy. I look forward to the day when I can volunteer with Saar and Anna Lena again and I highly recommend everybody to complete a Workaway with them.

I had a wonderful time at Monica's, spending two weeks out there, being a local from Brisbane. I have enjoyed being outdoors and switching off from socials, and phones. I worked in garden beds, digging up unwanted overgrown plants, replanting, carrying large tree branches together, planting seedlings, planting seeds, discovering weeds and root system problems and discussing different issues and challenges in her garden which is very clay based, and former cow paddock. It was a lovely peaceful environment with birds, wallabies, and stunning noises from the birds often. The landscape and weather changing constantly, it was great to be outdoors. I was very grateful for Monica hosting, and providing very health plant based foods. I would recommond bringing own snacks to supplment as the dinners are very early, and I need the regular amount of protein for myself. It was off grid, which is what I was after. Monica has a wealth of knowledge of all sorts of subjects and it was great to have many interesting conversations. Thanks for hosting Monica!

If I could give Emilie over a 5 star rating I would! She was an absolute pleasure to host. I love her vibe, positive attitude and in general everything about this lady! My kids loved having her around and she was very helpful with them. Our friends and their kids already miss Emilie! Emilie was not only great with the kids but so helpful with organizing, cleaning and really anything indoor or outdoor I put her to. She was very involved in the house and very social. I enjoyed her company and can't wait for her to come back in June! Have an amazing trip lovely lady!

I’ve spent two weeks at Chris’s place and really enjoyed my stay. The work was physically demanding and not very varied at first, but after a week of weeding he was willing to negotiate to mix things up a bit. I especially liked feeding the ducks and geese in the mornings, particularly Eggsy. The work was unsupervised, so I could choose when to start — pretty easy-going! I really enjoyed our chats and the communal dinners with Jesse — we always had something to laugh about. Chris always made sure I felt comfortable and had enough to eat. He cooked dinner for me almost every night, even when he didn’t eat himself. Thanks, Chris! It really felt like being at home 😁 He’s a pretty good chef, btw! The vibes sometimes seemed a bit stressed, but I know that’s just because of his job — nothing personal. He’s simply a busy man, but even then he was always ready to lend me an ear. Ed wasn’t there very often, but we had some good chats as well! And: If you like, you can always have one or two companions by your side — Phoenix and Daenerys, such lovely dogs. There was a gym, pool, and PlayStation for me to use in my spare time. Thank you Chris, Ed, and Jesse for this great experience!

Yuji was a wonderful workaway and stayed longer then intended. He was helpful, engaged in everything he could be and just in general a really lovely guy to have stay! We tried to do some cool things with the short time he was here and he was very open to new experiences enjoying and appreciating everything put in front of him. He was awesome with the kids and they miss him lots! I really hope to see you again on your future travels Yuji and show you more of NZ!
