    Description

My name is Angélica, I'm 46 years old and I live in Uruguay, in the department of Lavalleja, in a small town in the mountains called Villa Serrana. I live with my riding horses, my dog, Nina, and my cat, Emma.
It's a very peaceful place with only 300 permanent residents.
Our house is located in Villa Serrana, in the department of Lavalleja.

The house is still under construction, and improvements are being made to repair some flaws that have appeared. It was self-built with the help of family and friends. It has mixed electricity and solar energy, a library, rest areas with hammocks, independence, a visitor center with a bathroom, and horseback riding and hiking equipment.

The minimum stay is one week, and the maximum is flexible depending on the profile of each visitor.

The activities to be carried out are: 1) help with the organic garden (preparing the land for planting, planting, watering, harvesting, and maintaining fences; 2) restoration and maintenance of the house and its various paddocks; 3) animal care (horses, dog, and cat); 4) help with workshops on setting up picnics for events and preparing some food.

I currently live alone and coordinate courses and workshops on Flora Fauna Funga Astrotourism Geology; I also guide horseback riding and hiking; and I participate in other projects such as the Trekking Club, Viajandoenmula, Star Party, and others.
We organize nature camps for different audiences with diverse interests.
We set up a picnic with homemade local products anywhere; we are the only ones in the area operating ecotourism.
Caring for and tending to 16 horses and other animals plus the house has become a full-time job, preventing me from developing other ideas due to lack of time.

I'm trying to learn English so that my work and photography will be easier.

I'd like to have help training the horses.
I'd like to improve the place with an artistic touch and teamwork: creative, dynamic, practical, participatory, and, of course, enjoy the human enrichment that comes with the cultural exchange that occurs.

Volunteers should be people who enjoy spending time with animals and the outdoors, because the work is well divided into those two main areas: animals and outdoor spaces.
I also want volunteers to feel happy about the tasks they perform. I'm open to their ideas and contributions. I like it when they propose solutions to everyday situations if they have the ability; proactivity is a very valuable characteristic these days.
Volunteer hours and days are flexible. Much of our work is subject to weather.

We are not vegetarians; we sometimes eat fish, and we respect each other's different choices.
We cook in a shared space, food is shared, and schedules are coordinated.

A space to connect with the senses and interpret nature, surrounded by natural countryside - native forest, streams, ravines and varied native fauna, silent, organic and very alive.
