Our experience with Lisa was excellent! She is very nice, honest and generous. It was a pleasure to meet her and to share these few days with her. Welcome back anytime Lisa!

My time here was beyond what I could have imagined or hoped for. From the very first day I felt at home. The tranquility and slow pace permeated the whole place, which created an optimal space for calmness, personal reflection and growth, and meditation. I spent four weeks working as a volunteer yoga teacher (for the first time ever!) at this place, and myself and the other volunteers were given the trust and freedom to create, experiment and facilitate our classes the way we wanted. At the same time Jean, the owner, was always very present, even though he didn't interfere with the content of the classes. I am very grateful for the opportunity and trust I was given to start my yoga teacher journey here. The place is located in a village, and you don't have immediate access to what you potentially want all the time. Which to me, is a beautiful thing. You can easily get into a nice, safe and soft bubble at this place. You will also get the chance to connect with the locals living in the village, and they also attend the yoga classes. Also, be prepared for early morning wake ups, either from eager roosters, dogs or various celebrations from the pagoda near by 😂 Lastly, the food is AMAZING!

I stayed for nine days and it was honestly one of my favourite Workaway experiences so far. They have a large, beautiful property, and the main tasks are focused on helping with its upkeep. The work was simple, manageable, and enjoyable. Lauren and Warwick are incredibly welcoming, generous, open-minded, and have a great sense of humour. The house is lovely, the rooms are very comfortable, and the meals were always well cooked. I also shared this stay with other travellers, which made the experience even more enriching with lots of great conversations and exchanges. I highly recommend this host to anyone looking for a warm, friendly, and rewarding Workaway experience.

Rodney was such a wonderful and amazing host! His requested task was organizing and tidying up, but it didn't feel like work at all because it was so enjoyable. He truly respected my personal time, and his place was incredibly comfortable. :) On the first day, he took me to a local market and showed me some stunning views. I was so grateful that he listened to me patiently until the end, even though my English is a bit shaky, allowing us to have many great conversations. 😊 And I will never forget the delicious mangoes he treated me to!

Kim (we call her Kimchi) is an absolute powerhouse wrapped up in the sweetest, most joyful energy.🌞 If it were up to us, we would keep her forever. Her laugh and aura is completely contagious and she brings good energy into every space she’s in. Kim is incredibly hardworking and always ready to jump into anything, no hesitation, no fuss. At the same time, she has such a thoughtful way about her, always checking in to see where she could help or what was needed next. 🌈⚒️ Kim shared so much of herself with us, from delicious treats brought all the way from France 🧀 to lovely little appetizers she’d prepare for everyone. She truly loves sharing her culture, while also fully embracing Nepali life. She was here during several festivals and happily helped us set up events, decorate, and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. 🫶💝 Kind, considerate, full of heart and positive energy, Kim is the kind of volunteer who lifts the whole community just by being present. Manja and Allan were wonderfully welcoming hosts. My accommodations during the four to five weeks I spent on their rural farm were very comfortable, spacious, and peaceful. They went out of their way to drive me to the train station for visits to Ottawa and to the airport. They are generous with their stories, their time, their food, and their coffee. The machine runs nonstop in this java-loving household! During my midsummer stay, they were as busy as they describe in their profile and were genuinely appreciative of any and all of my efforts to help around the house and with grandchild care. Staying on a flower farm is deeply restorative and with such a welcoming host family, anyone who likes rural life could enjoy their stay here.

Sarah was awesome to host. She is such a hard, capable worker with many skills. We got so much outdoors jobs done. She is also a very nice interesting person to have around, I would highly recommend her to other hosts

Awesome couple who are very hard working, fun and great company. I really enjoyed hosting Tiffany and Jean and would happily host them again. Would recommend them to other hosts.

Miriam was a great volunteer, person, and almost a warm family member to her host family. Her entire stay was extremely productive, and she did everything possible for our students, going beyond working hours whenever the situation demanded it. She taught both English and science to our students and had productive discussions with them. Kids were exposed to modern science knowledge that they are not taught in the public schools here. Shewill be a valuable volunteer to any organization.

Bruce and Louise are wonderful people who welcomed me with open arms and made me feel right at home. They helped me discover the culture and a little bit of New Zealand by sharing meals and outings (hikes, beaches). The house in the countryside is beautiful and peaceful. I loved working on the farm with them.

I spent 2.5 weeks with Tom and Jane, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The island is like a little paradise peaceful and incredibly beautiful. The work was great and I actually had a lot of fun doing it, especially using the ride-on lawnmower! Tom and Jane are such kind people with a wealth of life experience to share. Jane is an outstanding storyteller, and I truly appreciated Tom’s great advice and wisdom. The food was also excellent; they always made sure I was well-fed, and I especially loved the fresh vegetables from their own garden. Thank you both for everything!

What a beautiful home! I had such a lovely time with Lyn and the adorable Dottie. Helping out in the garden and picking fruits was really fun and relaxing. I felt very welcome and enjoyed every moment here.

Máté stayed with us for the month of September, assisting at both our Toronto home and our cottage. He followed instructions well and completed the tasks we set for him, including sanding a set of bookshelves and painting a room. We were happy with the quality of his work and appreciated that he got the job done as requested. In addition to household projects, Máté was responsible for caring for our dogs. They enjoyed long walks around the city and hikes at the cottage. He is a quiet, independent, and creative individual who spent much of his free time focused on his YouTube channel. If you are looking for a volunteer who is easy to get along with, capable of tackling a long to-do list, and ready to learn, Máté is a great choice. We enjoyed hosting him at our homes.

Although Anael was only with us for a week, she made a lasting impression and was a joy to have around during our Thanksgiving at the cottage. She has a wonderful personality, incredibly warm, friendly, and outgoing, which made her feel like a natural fit for our family from the moment she arrived. Anael was eager to jump in and help with the housework, contributing to the preparation of our holiday meals and keeping everything tidy and organized. Beyond the chores, she was fantastic with our dogs, taking them on long walks and making sure they were well-exercised and happy. We truly appreciated her positive energy and her genuine willingness to help out wherever needed. We highly recommend Anael to any future host; she is a delightful person to share your home with, and we wish she could have stayed longer.

Hosting Laura for three months was an absolutely wonderful experience, and it is hard to put into words how much we enjoyed having her as part of our family. From our home in Toronto to our time at the cottage, Laura brought a sense of warmth and genuine helpfulness to everything she did. On the practical side, Laura was a superstar. She is incredibly hardworking and pays great attention to detail. She was a constant help with the daily cooking and cleaning, and she even took on painting two rooms, doing a meticulous, professional job. She has a 'can-do' attitude that makes every project feel easy. However, the most important part of her stay for us was her relationship with our dogs, Bando and Bigsley. Laura was truly awesome with them; she treated them with so much love and patience. Bigsley, in particular, completely adored her and followed her everywhere! Knowing they were so happy and well-cared for allowed us to truly relax, and we even managed to get away on vacation, knowing our dogs were in good hands. We shared so many delicious meals, great laughs, and quiet moments in nature together. Laura isn't just a 'Workawayer' to us anymore; she’s a dear friend. We are so grateful for the trust, generosity, and spirit she brought into our lives. We recommend her with 100% confidence to any host looking for a dedicated, kind, and truly special person to join their home. You are always welcome back, Laura!

Catherine is a relaxed, fun, and wonderful person. She sometimes delivers jokes with a completely straight face, which made her a great and memorable character in our community. She also has a very creative side and is skilled at sewing and baking. On potluck day, she baked an authentic chocolate cake, and the quality was truly impressive! We also had a project we are currently working on that required sewing, so we entrusted that task to her. She confidently used the sewing machine and, even without detailed instructions, thought things through on her own and created beautiful curtains for us. She loves animals as well, and often spent time playing with our cat Chaya, even sleeping together in the same bed and taking great care of him. We truly appreciate and understand your unique sense of humor. We very much hope to welcome you back again in about a year. Thank you so much for coming and being part of our place!

Kikuo (he has a Japanese-style nickname) is a very talented and multi-skilled person. He has many special skills, including juggling and spinning tops, but his unicycle performance in particular was truly impressive. It is clear that unicycling is something he has been passionate about for a long time. In addition to his native language, he speaks some Taiwanese and Japanese, so we sometimes chatted in Japanese, and he also kindly taught us some Spanish. He is usually calm and quiet, but he enjoys fun, is very curious, and occasionally shows a lovely sense of humor. We were often surprised by the unique combinations in the Japanese dishes he cooked—but that, too, reflects his curiosity (and made us smile!). He worked diligently and quietly, always giving his best to the tasks at hand. We already miss your presence and character, and we are truly looking forward to the day we can meet again. Thank you so much for coming and sharing your time with us!

It was hard to let Raul go. He is so nice and helpful. I loved the conversations we had. His language skills are amazing and his English impeccable. Due to the winterweather the chores where mainly indoor and driving. He does this excellent. We and the kids loved his cooking. The dogs where fond of him. I would recommend Raul 100% as a volunteer and will definitely host him again. All the best with all the great opportunities who lay before you!

Nous avons passé trois superbes semaines avec Ines et Mathilde, avec qui on a bien rigolé ! Leur terrain est magnifique, avec vue sur la mer depuis le bengalow-cuisine. Pendant notre séjour, les missions ont été variées : peinture, désherbage, élagage, soin des plantes, récupération de pierres à la rivière puis terrassement et pas chinois… on a beaucoup apprécié :) Merci encore pour ce nouvel an mémorable, la randonné et le barbecue partagés ! Ce sont des superbes hosts que l’on recommande vivement !
