Anna was a wonderful volunteer and a great part of our community. She is kind, easygoing, friendly, and very well-mannered, always bringing a positive energy to the hostel. She got along easily with guests, other volunteers, and the team, and adapted naturally to the work and daily flow. We truly enjoyed working and having fun together, and she would always be welcome back here, anytime, either as a volunteer or a guest.

Fernando is an amazing person. He and his friends have spend 8 days with us and it was all you can wish for with a workaway guest. Fernando plays beautifully guitar and he and his friend Roni, who by the way is an amazing artist, made an entire fence around my raspberrie field. Even though they had never really done it, Fernando is a smart person who stays calm in difficult moments and oversees the situation to come with a practical solution that works. For example on Christmas day all shops were closed but i needed to do some shopping. In 3 minutes he found me a shop that was still open and only 10 minutes drive away. I had never even been to this shop! Even though the work was fysical and it was cold and it rained Fernando and Roni finnished the entire fence. I am so grateful he and his friends stayed at my farm during Christmas. We had the best Christmas ever! It is an experience we will never forget. We played cards every evening and learned many new games and dances. If ever you have a chance to host Fernando, say yes! We hope to see Fernando and his friends again some day. Me and my daugther miss them.

Martina è stata la migliore esperienza che io abbia fatto finora su Workaway. La sua casa è meravigliosa, immersa nel verde, con un giardino stupendo che trasmette pace e bellezza. Collaborare con Martina non è stato solo uno scambio pratico, ma una vera esperienza di vita e di crescita personale. Mi ha insegnato tante cose e, giorno dopo giorno, è nata una bellissima amicizia. Fin da subito mi ha coinvolta nella sua quotidianità, nelle sue amicizie e nella sua vita facendomi sentire parte integrante. Martina é sempre delicata e sorridente, premurosa e disponibile Jerry , vaniglia e Oliver e la new entry sono parte integrante per chi come me adora gli animali , troverà una dolcezza infinita anche da loro . Ci siamo connesse profondamente, come se ci conoscessimo da molto più tempo. Tornerò sicuramente, non solo come Workawayer, ma come amica. Ti aspetto a Torino, a casa mia. Ciao Martina.

Tuve una experiencia muy linda recibiendo a María en casa. Charlamos un montón sobre diferentes culturas y viajes; ella me contó mucho sobre Portugal, un país que me encantaría conocer. Como las dos somos docentes, también conversamos sobre educación y fue súper interesante intercambiar ideas. Fue muy ameno tenerla en casa y pasear juntas por Quilmes. María puso mucho empeño en el trabajo: pintó una pared del jardín con ganas y responsabilidad, y fue muy respetuosa con el cuidado de mi casa. Además, compartimos momentos muy lindos y hasta fuimos a tomar una cerveza al centro de Quilmes. La recomiendo con total confianza.

Between October and December of 2025 I spent a total of two months in Saint-Louis. After settling in and getting used to everyday French I had one of the best experiences of my life via the centre. My main responsibility was setting up and teaching three beginner courses in English with students aged 7-11 (classes CP, CE1, CM1). We also took part of sport excursions once every week. There was also time to explore Saint-Louis and nearby areas. Rich meals together with the organization every day. Friendly atmosphere Accomidation with individual space. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you're missing anything. Invaluable experience learning French and a little Wolof If you're looking for conseils please don't hesitate to reach out to me. A good review is the best new year gift to one of our most wonderful ,helpful and kind hearted volunteers .During his six months’ stay at the here ,Rafael was extremely reliable—always on time and fully engaged with the students. The students, teachers, and other volunteers all enjoyed working with him. His dog, Gavin, joined him and was very chill, friendly, and well-liked by everyone. There was one small early incident with the house, which Rafael handled responsibly, and everything went smoothly after that. His help with the communicative activities was well-structured, very friendly and rewarding. We feel very lucky and very honored to have hosted Rafael and we strongly recommend him to any host looking for very nice, committed and hard working volunteers

Mr. Fifu with his son Chiku treated me like a MAHARANI = (maharajah wife), they treated me like one of the family and took exception excellent care of me. From a bed to sleep, food and drinks and all my needs. Fifu is a very warm hearted man with kindness and generosity. I worked in the kitchen and dining room and I had the chance to meet other guests from India and the rest of the world. I had an amazing fantastic time with Fifu & Chiku and I do thank and much appreciate all they had given me to feel like home sweet home.

There are no words to explain how comfortable I was while I spent my days at Marion's and Philipp's home. They received me a few days after I wrote to them at the last moment and during the end of the year and I was so happy when they answered my message. It was so nice to be in the center or the town with free buses that connect to other towns and the beach!! I worked at Marion's studio organizing and clearing up and felt so comfortable by her side and also working alone. I felt so at ease working there. We had lovely meals together in their lovely home with the view of the main road. Marion's food was made with love and care and I cooked sometimes and loved the experience of cooking in a French home with the vegetables that were in the famous brown paper bags. No words to explain how sweet and educated is Sol their son who has an amazing smile. I had such a good time trying to speak in my little French to him and how I would end talking in English and he made all the effort to understand me, and I thank him for that! I love him! I had a great time playing and painting watercolour! I don't know what words to use to say how fortunate I have been to be able to have spent 9 days with this great artistic family learning about how it is to live in a French little town in speaking French, English, Portuguese and hearing German; it was Great!!! I miss them already but I know in my heart that we will be seeing each other again in the near future!! The time I shared with them is one of the greatest memories I have since I started with workaway !!!

We spend five weeks with Alex and Claire (and the dogs) - and we really had an amazing time! They are truly wonderful people and very caring hosts. We signed up for the olive harvest and spend three weeks harvesting with three other volunteers whom we also shared the house and the car with. Genuinely amazing and loving people who made our stay much more than just a harvest. We experienced a strong team spirit with the other guys which really made the work in the fields worth the hazzle. Cause let's be honest - it is hard and repetitive work. Alex is a joy to work with in the fields. He is really passionate about olives, olive oil and the local history on the area - and he is more than willing to share during the breaks in the field. When our three weeks of harvesting came to an end we ended up staying over Christmas and New Years to dog sit Naomi and Spirit together with two other volunteers. We had a great time! Thanks for everything!

En pocas palabras solo diré que Dani es una persona muy especial por muchas razones y que no deberían dudar en aceptarlo como voluntario! Pasamos grandes momentos en compañía de todos los demás voluntarios y me ayudó trabajando con muchas cosas distintas durante su estadía, y aportando siempre buena onda en cada momento!! My experience in Tanzania was extremely positive, especially for the opportunity to have genuine and direct contact with the local community. Living in the village meant fully immersing myself in daily life, observing and sharing rhythms, habits, and simple moments that are difficult to grasp as a visitor. This context made it possible to move beyond stereotypes and gain a deeper understanding of the value of community life. The village proved to be an authentic and welcoming environment, where human relationships play a central role. People are open, kind, and generous with their time, creating an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect. Feeling part of this reality, even if only temporarily, was one of the most meaningful aspects of the experience. Special attention should be given to the children, who are without a doubt the heart of this experience. They are curious, full of energy, and incredibly receptive: every interaction with them becomes a moment of genuine exchange, made up of games, questions, laughter, and small daily gestures. Their desire to learn, share, and be listened to makes each day intense and deeply rewarding, leaving the clear feeling that even a short presence can have real value. A special thank you goes to Lusaka, who opened the doors of his home to us and made it possible to live this experience in an authentic and meaningful way. His hospitality and availability made our integration into village life natural and smooth. I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to go beyond simple travel and engage in a truly human experience, built on relationships, sharing, and direct contact with a different yet deeply welcoming culture.

I staid in Shinji-san's place for a month, I must not lie, it was intense in the beginning, there was a lot of guests some days and the soba matsuri, but Shinji-san was really patient and thoughtfull ! He asked other volunteers to help, in order not to be too overwhelmed during the busy periods. What a nice team we were. I liked his open mindness and the fact that he is someone really calm and does not talk to say nothing, but he always has a really warm smile that conforts you. Thank you Shinji-san for this incredible month, for bringing me to a lot of place and cooking such good meals, I wish you so much fun and the very best for this intense new beginning !

We were lucky having Alycia & Samuel at our place for an week - unfortunately not longer. They were both easy-going, flexible with also our schedule and working on themselves and their tasks, so we did not need to check in regularly, which was also easy for us. :-) We enjoyed their company, we had great talks and also a little instrumental session, which was fun! We hope to see them both again in the future and can recommend them to anyone else without hesitation. All the best for you both and your travels!

I couldn't be more grateful that Lauren and Corey came to help me. Their level of commitment is admirable; they spent five weeks taking care of my house and my animals. Communication was always excellent, and best of all was their consideration in doing things right and leaving everything spotless. Thank you, Lauren and Corey, I will always remember you!
