Description
Hi! I am a Portuguese language teacher in my late 50s. I have taught English and German for over 30 years in Portugal in middle schools. I love my job, especially the challenge of motivating students, so I always get involved in many projects.
I also love traveling, meeting people and cultures.
I am married and have 3 grown up children, so lots of experience with kids!
I care a lot about the environment, recycling and reusing are for me big priorities.
I don't smoke, drink alcohol or eat meat and am very interested in vegetarian cooking. I get along well with cats and dogs. I am quite good with handwork.
I may be a good help with taking care of children, teaching languages (Portuguese, English, German, French), doing hostel tasks, helping with computer work, general housework like cooking, cleaning. Farming and gardening also interest me.
I don't like the heat.
I think this big adventure of volunteering abroad, meeting and helping people, exchanging ideas, learning new skills is soooo amazing!
I have been gathering memorable experiences with workway and hope to keep on doing so!😍

Maria spent two weeks with us, it was a real pleasure to welcome her. In two years, we have welcomed around 20 volunteers, Maria is the one who best participated in the many tasks in the field. I stayed 3 weeks with these 2 amazing human beings and their (so many!) lovely not human beings and it was a jump into a better, ecological world! Here plants and animals are very loved and respected, like family.

This is the perfect person to meet the first time you come to Índia. Rajesh knows a lot about Índia and Kerala and is willing to explain and take you to the best places in Kochi. His apartament is right in the center and I could go everywhere on foot alone or with him on his bike! He is a great masseur!
