Hi Potential work awayers,
I am a working mum of 3 boys ( one which studies overseas, one in his last year of school, and one in university). I am currently working as a Cabin Safety Inspector for Namibian Civil Aviation. Though i love my job i have always been dreaming of opening a facility for vulnerable woman and children with behavioral problems. I am a teacher and trained Councillor and Journey practitioner with a vision to assist troubled woman and children in reaching their full potential.
We have a family farm ( 5000 Ha) +- 70 km out of Rehoboth, ( Closest town) and +- 160 km out of Windhoek ( Capital City), where we do some agriculture and have cattle and sheep. My husband Bayer stays mostly on the farm whereas i stay in the Capital city of Windhoek. I want to make this farm the setting for my program.
We are looking for 5 volunteers who could build earth bag / sandbag accommodation units or suggestions for any alternative building methods are also welcome. We would also like to set up a permaculture garden. Volunteers will be offered meals ( cook yourself) and accommodation. The daily working hours will be max 5 hours with most of your time spend towards building accommodation. Other chores will include, setting up a chicken coup, gardening / landscape designing, fundraising etc - however you can contribute, but you will not be made to do something you cannot do.
You can use weekends to explore the rest of Namibia ( at your own cost) close attractions are Lake Oanob Resort, Daan Viljoen, Hardap Dam, Gocheganas, Swakopmund ( 400 km), Solitaire, Windhoek. Accommodation can be arranged for you if you spend the weekend in Rehoboth or Windhoek only.
Transport will be arranged for you from the Airport to the farm. Minimum stay of 2 weeks and maximum stays of 3 months.
Getting this done is going to be hard work, but for whoever wants to take on this journey with me, know its towards a good cause and to change the life of others.

Ps, you will have free reign on the farm as far as designing pathways etc goes. If you are into horses there are alot of wild horses on the farm that can be tamed, but that will be to do as a hobby.

If you are a student wanting a clean canvas to do their art on, this would be the perfect learning curve. Or just maybe you need to get away and clear your mind. This african farm will put you in the heart of nature and allow yourself to find yourself without having to worry about food and shelter.
Volunteers with building experience. We would like to use alternative building methods, i.e earth bag housing for accomodation purposes. Experience in gardening/permaculture/agriculture will be an advantage.
