Noah was a wonderful Workawayer and someone I felt I could completely trust. He is very independent, skilled, and thoughtful in the way he approaches work. Whenever I asked him to help with something, he not only completed the task well, but often went beyond what was expected. He has good practical skills and a strong sense of initiative, so he usually already knew what needed to be done. Because of this, I felt very comfortable giving him freedom to work on projects, knowing everything would be handled responsibly. I really appreciated how he would observe problems and suggest practical solutions — sometimes even recommending tools or materials that would make things work better. For me, the best kind of person is someone who can see a problem and propose a way to solve it, and Noah is exactly that kind of person. It also made me very happy to see that he genuinely enjoyed being here. Hosting him was easy and comfortable, and he helped us accomplish a lot during his stay. Thank you so much for your help, Noah. You are always welcome back!

Luke was here helping us this late autumn. It was a particularly challenging period, but Luke was very supportive and helpful. He had the flexibility to adapt to the place and the people, and the qualifications to help out. A truly professional painter! And an interesting person to talk with. Hope we can meet again some day and in the meantime I warmly recommend him to other hosts!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this young couple's company and the work they did was of a high standard. They were thoughtful, polite and interesting. I highly recommend them as your next workaways.

I stayed with Maren and Gerhard for almost three weeks and had a wonderful time. They were very kind to me and we got on better than I had expected. I had my own room, which meant I had some peace and quiet and plenty of free time. I am very grateful for the time and also for the exchange: helping with the housework and playing with their son Levi in exchange for food and accommodation. I couldn't play with Levi much because he was very sceptical of me at first, but once he got over his hurdle, it actually went really well. He is very sweet and, to be honest, very smart and educated. Sometimes I thought he was smarter than me, hahaha! Communication was very open and we managed everything together. All in all, it was a perfect first Workaway experience for me. Thank you for the time!

She is an incredibly interesting, fun and loving person. I feel very blessed that I was able to get to know her so well and will always remember the time we had.

We had such a special time at Sidonie and Carpo’s. For three weeks we felt like part of the family and truly got to experience the “best Aussie life,” as they both say — and they’re absolutely right! Their place is so peaceful, the animals are the cutest, and their friends and family are incredibly welcoming and outgoing. We had so much fun at Lucy’s and Stuart’s with the kids — they are just too funny. And thank you for teaching us how to make focaccia 🤭 Seeing the work with the brumbies was a real highlight for us. And of course, we can’t forget the food — it was the BEST!! We also had so many beautiful conversations with Sidonie and Carpo. We’re forever thankful for this experience :))

This was my first workaway experience and I couldn't ask for anything better. I stayed with Naoko and the family for one month, and was lucky to experience their kindness and generosity. Since it was winter, there wasn't much outside work and my tasks mainly focused on washing the dishes after the meals, cleaning around the house and playing with the kids. Occasionally, I would collect wood, do some gardening or dig up potatoes in the vegetable garden. It is all light work and the tasks will be clearly communicated by Naoko. You will be staying in a different house down the road from the family, with all necessities provided. The area is very rural, but they will drive to town nearly every day, so if you need a ride on your day off you can get a 10 min drive to the nearest station and go your way from there. I loved staying with the family and had a wonderful time exploring the surrounding area. I wish to come back one day and see your rice field in full bloom!! Thank you for everything.

My first Workaway experience was two and a half weeks with Ama, and I couldn't be happier about it. She and her wonderful team welcomed me with open arms and made sure I could balance my working hours on their project with getting to know the city and the culture of the Kathmandu Valley with complete flexibility. Working together on the project has been rewarding thanks to an open mindset and a genuine interest in doing something that can help make a difference. The cultural exchange and sharing of ideas during meals or coffee breaks has also been very enjoyable. The stay at the house is very pleasant and peaceful, a small oasis on the outskirts of the bustling capital. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who wants to dive into Nepalese culture. I hope I can make it back in the future. If you want a friendly, attentive, and comforting host, think about Ama!

I came here because I wanted to experience something new and totally different, and to be in an environment that encouraged deepening one’s relationship with God. I spent 3 wonderful weeks there, and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone curious about consecrated life and the Catholic faith - or if you’re simply longing for a quiet, peaceful experience filled with love and kindness away from the noise of the outside world :) The sisters made me feel welcomed from the very moment I arrived, and sister Marthe Rachel in particular made sure that I was well-informed and comfortable throughout my stay. She always took the time to answer my questions, and she is an excellent translator! I appreciate how she and the other sisters went out of their ways to ensure that I felt included. The work: - The work is very varied, and it is largely dependent on the season/weather. Since it was sunny during my stay, I mostly worked in the garden - which was lovely! Other tasks included cleaning, organizing some storages outside, and helping the sisters with their handmade products. - I worked 5 hours a day, and was free to distribute the hours myself (I usually did 3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, depending on the tasks) - There are no expectations to participate in the sisters daily schedules of prayer, mass etc., but one is always welcome to! And if one does, the sisters are happy to explain, translate, and accommodate. Food: - I was served lunch and dinner every day, and the meals are varied, healthy and made from scratch - I ate well every single day and enjoyed every meal. Some practical tips: - I recommend bringing a warm sweater (regardless of the season) - the long hallways on the ground floor can be chilly - Slippers to wear inside - Clothes and shoes suited for gardenwork that are easy to clean (for example rubber boots + rainwear) - There is a room with wifi in the basement, but otherwise you need data Note: - If you happen to be the only Workawayer during your stay, be prepared to spend a lot of time by yourself (the sisters are quite busy throughout the day). I feel like I got the best of both worlds as I spent the first two weeks alone and the last week with 3 other Workawayers. If you happen to be the only Workawayer for your entire stay or parts of it, I recommend seeing it as an opportunity for introspection, self-discovery and growth :) Thank you so much sisters, this has been an unforgettable experience with a lasting impact - I hope to come back some time!

Thank you very much Amigo for joining us for a few weeks, it was great having you here, getting to know you and hear your story. During Nasso's time here, we worked mostly on the land, pruning trees, chopping wood and clearing the land. He made very good friends with our dog Ziggy and really enjoyed spending time with him, bringing him for long walks and a few beers to the bar! Nassos is very committed to fermentation and sourdough and he was keen to introduce me to the process, so I learned a lot from his teachings. In general, Nassos works in a very calm and controlled way. He likes to think a lot as he's working, so don't worry if he's not speaking as he works, he's listening and paying attention to all his surroundings and thats a great skill to have. He looks to be in the moment and thats what its all about here with us, being in the moment. He is happy to take instruction and get on with the job and push himself, no messing around with Nassos and he will always go the extra mile if needed He keeps very good timekeeping, communicates well and directly, he has a very friendly/ sometimes serious nature which I relate to as it generates honest conversation, and he shows willingness at all times to engage with those around him. Great to meet you Amigo, keep pushing yourself out there and keep the good times rolling. I would recommend Nassos to any host looking for a no messing around, get the job done kind of person. Best regards from all here. Graham and family

I stayed with Kiko and his family for about two months during the winter. They welcomed me warmly and made me feel comfortable from the beginning. The atmosphere was friendly and respectful, and I appreciated being included in daily life. It was also nice to learn more about Bulgarian food, traditions and culture during my stay. Thank you for the experience and all the best for the future.

Marie-Helene and Jason stayed with us for two weeks, getting involved in spring garden preparation and our eucalyptus reconversion process. They also helped us fixing a porch and the sauna. They were an enthusiastic and very proactive couple, always opened and never afraid of hard work. They took good care of our caravan too, fully respecting all what was asked from them. It was in fact a pity that they could not stay longer! All the best for you, guys!

Betsan was great to have visit. She and her friend Louisa were super helpful, both with community projects and at home. I very much enjoyed Betsan share about here Welsh heritage and travels. I appreciated how interested Betsan was in learning about and joining in community events here in our busy little town. I very much recommend Betsan to other hosts and she is certainly very welcome in our home next time she is in these parts. .

Thank you very much Theresa for all your help recently, it was great hosting you. During Theresas time here, we worked mostly on the land, pruning trees, chopping wood and clearing the land, dog walking, plant pruning and some painting and varnishing. Teresa is very easygoing, curious and social with lots of questions. She sometimes buzzes around like a honey bee, which is very nice, and she is happy to take instruction and get on with the job, no messing around. She does enjoy completing tasks and seemed to take to painting very well, I wish there was more! She keeps very good timekeeping, communicates well, is very friendly in nature and shows willingness at all times to engage with those around her and dig deeper into discussions about life. it was only a 2 week stay but I would have happily invited her to stay longer if time permitted. Best of luck out there Theresa and the best of luck with your future plans and your onward travels. Graham and family
