  • Description

For this month, March 2024 we are in need of short-term help sending out a newsletter for our project. You don't have to write much, just manage the email lists. Have you ever made an email newsletter? We are really low key and you'll have a great time here with us. We love to have our guests go out to see the beautiful Kathmandu Valley.

Also, our normal needs: We are looking for skilled social media marketers and video editors who can stay with us for a month or longer. Whether you are in a country where many people are living as refugees, or maybe your country is involved in a war, we'll keep you with us as long as we can. I'm American but don't have a problem with Jews, Islam, Russians or any other Earthling.

Our normal offer: We take our volunteers to explore the Kathmandu Valley as often as we can. We really want you to get the most out of Nepal. We just ask for 3 hours a day of help. You'll have a great time. We'll feed you 3 meals a day if you are here at the house, either Western or Nepalese traditional food. You won't need to pay for food or the bed while you are at home and you'll have a nice room to stay in. However, we have a very serious water problem here in the Kathmandu Valley. If you could help us bring just one truck of water per month (about $25/3,000 Nrs) we will really appreciate it. If you are from another developing nation like Nepal, just let us know if it's a hardship.

We are in need of videographers, editors, and help to get our channels more coverage.

What kind of work do we need help with? We need help mostly with social media marketing and video shooting and editing.

We never have our volunteers do work that a local person could do. In fact, if you’d like to mentor a local Nepali so he/she could learn better computer skills or marketing skills that would be awesome.

Our goals are to enrich your experiences in Nepal and help enrich this beautiful country in some way. Nepal is a favorite of so many visitors; we hope you will choose to make Nepal your next destination. It's so peaceful and safe for even old ladies like me to travel to, yet full of adventures.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our volunteers learn their own value and the power they have to create change. We've hosted volunteers who helped rebuild Nepal after the earthquakes of 2015 and other things things throughout the years. Most of all, you will learn what an amazing country Nepal is. You'll fall in love with this little, Himalayan country. For volunteers who stay with us for an extended time we often reward our volunteers with an all or partial paid trip outside the Kathmandu Valley during their stay with us.

  • Help

We are in need of people with basic computer skills like social media posting and help with fundraising. Most young people have the skills needed for this, but we have a few programs that the volunteer can learn, as well. For example, we have the Doodly platform so a person could produce a cartoon, or explainer video with less than an hour of study and use it for content to post. We need creative people who can take the initiative. We also need volunteers who love the planet and want to help the environment. If this sounds like you we will be happy to host you.
The government is only allowing people who are fully vaccinated to be able to come to Nepal at this time.

There is a lot to discover in Kathmandu. There are trekking routes that surround the Valley and 8 world UNESCCO sites to explore. Nepal is amazing. Dollar for dollar, Nepal offers the most value, beauty, safety, and adventure of any budget country on the planet. We thank you for your interest in helping Nepal.

We have what they tell us is 5 G. We pay for 5G, but it's more like broadband. However, you can usually stream well enough to make internet calls and such. We also have an inverter and battery backup electric system. The WIFI seldom goes out but sometimes we lose electricity, but you won't need to worry about that here. We have plenty of backup power.
