Our first Workaway experience with Laurent was amazing. Laurent was a wonderful host. He communicated clearly, cooked delicious meals, made sure the tasks were varied, and was always open for a conversation. We worked mostly in the forest, pruning and clearing different parts. We also got the opportunity to build a small storage hut! The garden, farm, and forest are beautiful and you will always find something new to discover. We stayed in the studio next to his house which was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was also fun to interact with his energetic dogs and farmanimals. We would recommend this place to everyone!

I spent one month here and had a really lovely experience. My hosts were kind, welcoming and made me feel comfortable from the beginning. They cooked delicious vegetarian meals and it was nice to share meals together and talk in the evenings. The daily work mainly involved taking care of the animals at the sanctuary: donkeys, goats, sheep, pigs, geese, hens, cats and dogs. Tasks included picking up poo, giving fresh water, preparing food and feeding the animals. Sometimes there were other jobs like cleaning the sheds with fresh bedding or helping with small house tasks. The work was simple and meaningful, especially if you enjoy being around animals. The location is beautiful. The house is less than a 10-minute walk from the ocean and the Beara Peninsula is truly stunning, with great hiking in the hills nearby. My hosts also took me on a car trip to explore more of the peninsula, which I really appreciated. They were also happy to give me lifts when needed. Overall it was a peaceful place to spend time, connect with animals and enjoy the wild beauty of the Beara Peninsula. I would happily recommend this place to other Workawayers who enjoy animals and nature. Thank you again for welcoming me for this month — I hope to come back and visit again in the future.

We highly recommend Lieze! She house-sat and cared for our two cats over the holidays, then stayed with us for an additional three weeks. She is exceptionally capable, handling all household tasks to a high standard and with a smile on her face. Lieze is incredibly kind and patient - she developed a close relationship with our children, and our youngest still misses her. Lieze was a joy to have around and is welcome back at any time.

I spent 6 days at Vittorio's peaceful place surrounded by beautiful and wild nature. Although it was quite cold, as it was still February, we managed to stay active and work on several different indoor and outdoor projects such as chocolate making, proofing a fence for his new agroforestry plantation, herb picking, cooking and some building tasks. Every day was always different which kept life flowing naturally and the experience interesting. Vittorio was very welcoming, fun and always happy to share his deep knowledge and passion for nature, birds and animals. I especially enjoyed our cooking sessions together and Vittorio shared many amazing and healthy ways of making different local foods. It was also great to meet some of his friends and go on a hike together to explore an old castle in the area. I definitely recommend to stay at Vittorio's for anyone who's interested in hands on learning about permaculture, sustainability or edible plants and herbs! Grazie Vittorio :)

Highly recommended! Myriam and Stephan are absolutely LOVELY people! We had a truly wonderful time over the ten days we spent together. They were very helpful with various tasks in the garden and around the house. They just knew exactly what needed to be done. We also had nice conversations, and their dog, Jimmy, is an absolut sweetheart! I was very sad when they had to move on, but I’m also very glad we got to know each other. I hope we see each other again.

I had a short yet incredible stay at Danny’s place! It was my very first workaway and I really didn’t know what to expect. Danny was very helpful even before I arrived. The farm is very beautiful and it is awesome to see what he has built from the ground. He is very organized on daily tasks and I really appreciate that he taught me some much about farm life and trusted me with some not so easy tasks. He is patient and open minded. He is very easy to communicate with, and has a good sense of humour. I enjoyed our conversations and sometimes they really mad me think. I appreciated the meals he cooked every day, they were delicious, fresh and healthy! Oh and the best coconuts of course! When the night comes, the place is very peaceful and magical! all I could hear was the wind brushing the leaves and sometimes dogs or roosters from the neighborhood. A great time to have a cup of herbal tea freshly picked from the garden, sit by the fire, or just watch the stars with a good company! I am really hoping to go back to curaçao one day and visit this wonderful and peaceful place again!

Raul is a very calm person and is open to talking to you, creating a soft and relaxed atmosphere. The location is surrounded by nature, perfect if you're looking for tranquility. The work was challenging but well-planned. All safety devices were provided. It was a very nice experience, thanks to Raul for his support. I hope to see you again soon, and good luck with your great project.

I had a really lovely stay at his place. Unfortunately I decided to leave a bit earlier because of the heat, but the time I spent there was truly special. He has created a beautiful home surrounded by nature, and it’s inspiring to see how much care and dedication he puts not only into the house itself but also into the land around it. He has a lot of knowledge about the area, the culture, and many other topics, and he genuinely enjoys sharing and having meaningful conversations. If you’re curious about India, its culture, or life in general, this is a wonderful place to ask questions and learn. He is also very thoughtful about the heat and makes sure volunteers don’t have to work too much during the hottest parts of the day. Above all, he’s simply a kind and genuine person. I’m very grateful for the time I spent there.

Congratulations to all Workawayers who have come across this profile. You have just found one of the most beautiful Workaway places in Australia. I have even extended my stay and am still on the farm because of it. The family is very kind and always interested in making sure you are doing well. Everyone is very friendly and open. The animals are totally cute and the work is very varied. Most of the time I take care of the horses and ride them, feed all the animals, help with the housework and sometimes look after the children or help with small jobs outside around the house. Every day has a certain structure, but is still full of variety. If you enjoy horses, like spending time with children, are helpful and willing to work, you've found a great place here. I can only recommend it!

We had the pleasure of hosting Amanda during our English language summer camps in Italy in 2025, where she joined our team for three weeks of camp. Our camps involve multiple workawayers working closely together to manage activities, support students, and create a positive group environment and from the start, Amanda integrated naturally into the team. She was consistently friendly, approachable, and always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. She brought a positive attitude to camp life, was easy to work with, and contributed to a cheerful atmosphere among both staff and students. Her ability to collaborate with other counsellors and adapt to the dynamic nature of camp made her a valuable member of the team. It was a pleasure having her with us!!

Fantastic site Most days I worked the full 5 hours required which was a good exchange for a cabin to myself (had to share 1night) and 3 meals a day Guides and staff were helpful and easy to work alongside. Owners, Johanne and Kirk great and dynamic people Getting the opportunity to raft was a highlight of my trip Absolutely fantastic and looking forward to seeing photos taken by safety kayaker on the day On the downside there was no electricity and therefore no internet connection although there was an alternative source which allowed for charging and connection for a spell during the day Anyhoo good luck in future endeavors. Guys!

I spent a week at Mark and Maz's beautiful place, doing mostly weeding in the forest. It was a great experience and learning opportunity, and it was nice to share it with other friendly volunteers. Mark is super passionate about his work and it also felt meaningful for me to be able to help him with this project. Not to mention Mark and Maz were so heartfelt and gave great tips for discovering the nearby regions. Super grateful for this unique experience! Thank you Mark and Maz!

David and Jacqui were amazing hosts for our first Workaway experience! Very friendly and caring, they gave us fairly basic tasks at their house (which were quite enjoyable), a flexible schedule to complete them and a lot of new experiences that we will carry with us our whole life. Being close to the beautiful village of Comares was a great perk, we could buy what we needed, have a cheap coffee/beer or a bocadillo only by a 20 minute walk. The panoramic view from their house is also incredible :) We really liked the space we lived in, having some privacy during the evening and morning was perfect for us! All around, this experience was everything we could ask for and more, we are really grateful for the kindness and the opportunity that was provided to us by David and Jacqui.

I’m looking back to a wonderful 3-week stay. The family is very warm, open and helpful. I felt like part of the family as they included me in activities and showed me around the area. It was very interesting to learn about the self-sustainable lifestyle. How they prepare their own delicious and healthy food and how they care for the animals. The location of the farm is a great place for nature lovers. I stayed in a caravan - my own little space - and loved watching the stars at night from there. The work was varied and never boring. I especially enjoyed working on a building project and taking care of the animals. After work, I enjoyed spending time with the children. We walked the dogs, had fun in the pool or played games. I also enjoyed the movie and game nights after a shared meal in the evening. It was a great experience that I will remember and for which I’m very grateful! For me, it was very special to be surrounded by so many friendly and adorable animals. Hope to see you again!

We stayed with Tuve for about one week in February/March 2026 and got a great little insight into her simpel life on farmstead Nässelbacken. The work was reasonable, we helped a lot with the willow branch harvest for her basketry projects, cleaned up the place after a tough winter and chipped wood for composting. Speaking of compost, Tuve really knows a lot about any kind of nature-related topics, gardening and trees and really loves to share all of these bits of information - she makes a true lecturer!:) We stayed and slept in the bigger room, which is as described not in the main house, but in the barn (100m footway). It was indeed rustic and also served as storage for all sorts of different things, but we managed to get it cozy for our short stay. Tuve had planned out several different tasks for the spring and new little sidequests always showed up during the day. We were always free to choose our tasks how they suited us. In the beginning the farm and the every day life might have seemed a little all over the place to us, but we really got used to the place in a quite short time (especially when Tuves sons joined and spent their time working and living with us). Thanks for all the tips for trips in your area - Fulltofta and Rövarekulan were great! So Tuve, thank you for showing us your way of living in your own peaceful corner in the countryside!:)

When travelling abroad, it can get quite challenging to find a place that truly feels like home, where you actually don’t want to leave. Nonetheless, staying only one week at the campus gave me that familiar and comforting homelike feeling. The Foundation is situated in a remote village of Bihar, near the nepalese border, in the midst of fields, forests and rivers. Hence, during my stay, I could completely immerse into the local rural life, meet the villagers and explore the surroundings. This was a really great and genuine experience, full of many colors - especially since I had the opportunity to celebrate my first ever Holi here ! Regarding the volunteering, I was basically in the company of the youngsters almost daily. So a lot of chatting was involved. Together, we shared life stories, memories and dreams, we learned from one another, danced, laughed, wandered around, and much more. Seeing them open up day by day a bit more to me, gain confidence and express their excitement, was the most magical experience. I won’t forget the joyful faces I met and the friends I made ! Accommodations were good, simple and snug ; food was fresh and delicious. Big up to the mosquito net though^^ All in all, a warmhearted journey of smiles. Chalo chale, see you at campus !

Emma and Ties are a great couple with whom to work. For starters, they planned well in advance, and kept us informed of their plans. Unfortunately, nature and the weather did not stick to plan, and we had unseasonal weather. But that was also not a problem for Emma and Ties – they adapt to changes, and are capable. In addition, they were interested in our work here, enthusiastic, motivated and hard working. Their initiatives and suggestions were really helpful. They are also really good company. We hope that our paths cross again.
