Description
We are a small, family run eco-lodge in the heart of a Costa Rican tropical Rain-forest. We are located along the Pacuare River, one of the top ten rafting destinations in the world. Our guests generally raft into and out of the lodge. We offer an all-inclusive package with guided hikes, rafting, lodging and meals. This is a place to unplug and refresh.
The Workawayers assist experienced, independent local guides in meal preparation and cleanup. Workawayers will also assist Carolina and Johanna with cabin cleaning and Don Mario with gardening. Workawayers will have the chance to meet and interact with customers from all over the world. A true Cultural experience in a beautiful setting. In your free time there are hikes, bird and wildlife watching, river reacting and other activities available. We also have a large book collection for those of you that would like to spend your afternoon relaxing in a hammock with a book. On days off some Workawayers like to hang around the lodge while others travel to nearby tourist destinations via public transportation. Like our clients and staff, workawayers will eat well.

Travellers will interact with local guides, help Carolina and Johanna with cleaning and Don Mario with gardening. Workawayers will also have plenty of time to interact and share stories with tourists from all over the world. This is an excellent place to learn not only about Costa Rican culture but to learn about other countries and cultures in general.

Had an awesome 10 days at Johana and Kirk's lodge. The tico colleges Adrián, Abel, Mario, Carlos and many more as well as the other workawayers made it an incredible experience with loads to learn in housekeeping, cooking, construction and gardening.

Ivis is one of the happiest people we have ever met. He is so excited about life and we so enjoyed his presence at the lodge. He was an incredibly hard worker and really contributed to one of our recent construction projects. We would welcome him back at any time and hope to see him in the future!

Yuri stayed with us for about two months and helped us with so many different things. He is a very hard worker and we appreciated his work ethic and self-sufficiency. Logan and Laura were a great addition to the lodge. They were very personable and so helpful in bridging gaps in communication. Logan was awesome with kids and Laura was easy to have a meaningful conversation with. They completed any task asked of them. We were thankful for their help when they stayed.
