I stayed two weeks in Tad Lo and it was a very nice experience! I helped to give more visibility to a small restaurant and traditional handicrafts by painting the place and taking pictures of the handmade products. Mathilde and Kelly have been available when I needed but they also gave me a lot of autonomy during my stay. I organized my tasks and time as I wanted. There are a lot of very nice projects happening or to come, always in collaboration with people from the village. A great way to be involved in local life at this beautiful Tad Lo !! Thanks for welcoming me it was a pleasure to meet you all and help !

my partner and i stayed with Siri for one week helping her to teach her students and wish we could have stayed longer 😊 Siri is a wonderful host and made sure we were comfortable and never hungry :)) she also took us around her town in our free time and to nearby waterfalls which was amazing! Siri is an amazing teacher and all of her students clearly love and respect her. We had a great time teaching all of the kids who were all happy and keen to learn and we learnt so much from Siri also. she was always there to help if needed 😊

Rae stayed with us for almost two months last spring. She is such a lovely person, full of energy and funny! She mostly helped with the kids, cooking and cleaning and we were very happy with her. We did some nice nature walks and we enjoyed her delicious food and her company. Long evening talks about everything while cleaning the kitchen or having tea. I recommend her amazing Risotto!

Java was such a pleasure to host. She is brilliant, resourceful, and excellent company. She is responsible, sweet, and fun to talk to. Any person is lucky to have Java in their life.

We stayed at Lili and Wolfgang’s finca for three weeks, living in their van. We had a lot of fun, although the work was quite hard: planting trees, building walls, laying concrete, and helping with their two children. Lili provided us with breakfast and sometimes also something for lunch or dinner. Overall, it was a very nice experience, and we thank Lili and Wolfgang for their hospitality :)

Misky es una chica taiwanesa muy trabajadora y tranquila, muy flexible en todo, nos acompaño 10 días y nos ayudó mucho en la cosecha y limpieza de choclo. Además en la cocina es muy colaborativa y también ayudo en la clases de ingles a los niños de la comunidad. Me deseamos lo mejor!

Staying in Emily's farm was a truly grounding experience. Emily and Riley were incredibly warm and welcoming and we shared lovely and funny experiences that made my stay feel meaningful and genuine! I learned a lot about shallots and garlic and mulching during my stay , I enjoyed the work and had a great time! Being surrounded by nature, community, animals and open space brought a sense of calm and grounding that I'll never forget! Thank you for hosting me Emily, all the best!

Emilie y Frederik son una pareja muy feliz, amable y siempre muy colaboradora. Ella se quedó 10 días y Fredy algunos días más. Nos ayudaron en la cosecha del choclo y el riego. Fredy nos ayudó a hacer las cuentas del choclo. Son una pareja muy especial, tranquila y siempre respetando las reglas en la casa. La pasamos muy bien con todo el grupo de workawayers. Además ellos son artistas y hacen artesanías de piedras preciosas muy bonitas. También nos ayudaron con las clases de ingles a los niños de la comunidad. En resumen está pareja son lo mejor de lo mejor!

Alexa and Holger welcomed us like family from the very start. This was our first workaway but we were blown away by the friendliness and generosity offered. What an amazing way to exchange cultures and make new friends, we feel so so lucky! We stayed for about six weeks and helped with some renovation work for their awesome farmhouse. We were extremely well fed and comfortable, and they always made sure we were warm enough in the cold 2026 winter. We were treated to delicious traditional dishes and traded our own stories and recipes from home too. We also loved meeting their friends and family in the village, playing with Willem, practing German, and taking some side trips to see more of Northern Germany. Alexa and Holger are both such kind, interesting, and fun people to be around! The way they welcome people into their lives is inspiring. We'll miss them! Willem and Lotta too of course! We could not recommend this workaway more.

Pangiran and Juean are such a lovely host. They welcomed us like a family and they always made sure that we are properly rested and well-fed after work. You know how much I enjoyed my stay here because I actually joined this program for 3x already haha We helped out with all kinds of work (paddy planting, collecting stones & sand from the river, cement mixing, connecting water pipes from the water source & etc..) The job was sometimes tough but never stressful. I enjoyed all the work that I've done here caz they're all new experiences for me and also created impact for the community. Did I mentioned that the farm we stayed had stunning views? It's also a heaven for animal lovers where you can touch and feed the buffalos, goats and cats. And you get to take a nice bath in the nature's jacuzzi (the river) after work. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place for your workaway experience in Malaysia. And best wishes to Pangiran's family and the community members to continue thriving despite of the difficult circumstances.

I had a truly wonderful experience with this host during my short stay in Vung Tau. It was a bit of a last-minute decision for me, but Vuong and Vi welcomed me wholeheartedly. From the very first day, I felt not just like a guest, but like part of the family. I was introduced to their extended family and friends, attended the Lunar New Year celebration work party, and visited their parents’ home. My interest in the local cuisine was met with such enthusiasm and generosity. Their kindness, openness, and genuine desire to share their culture made my stay incredibly meaningful. It was a pleasure to spend time with this loving family with such strong family bonds. We laughed a lot, ate a lot, and talked a lot. The kids are lively and affectionate — they will easily move your heart. I will miss them very much. They created a comfortable and supportive environment, always making sure I had everything I needed. I will truly cherish the opportunity to learn about local traditions in such an authentic way. It was not just accommodation — it was a real cultural immersion. I’m deeply grateful for this experience and would highly recommend this host to anyone looking for a warm, enriching, and unforgettable cultural exchange.

Irina is a very helpful host. From the very beginning, she gave us excellent advice for our arrival and travel plans. She even treated us to a wonderful Italian dinner as a farewell, which we truly appreciated. We especially valued her enthusiasm and genuine interest. The work is mostly based on the needs of the moment, which can vary, and she adapts tasks to each person's individual skills. You will also have the chance to interact with her sweet animals. Generally, work hours run from late morning to the afternoon, and meals are not included. Thank you, Irina! :)

The time with Jonathan and Marie was precious! The weeks together were mostly rainy, but we could still work in the garden and build drywall using this time together the best way. They are both very focused on the work, not scared by the soft rain, and most importantly quick learner: in few days they became masters in drywalls :) They are so polite and left the room so tidy and clean! I was very happy about the quiet,and profound time spent together , thank you and good luck with your projects :)

Isobel and Rory spent two weeks helping me out at the farm and I cannot thank them enough for their help. First of all, both of them are very kind people, the type of humans you want to stick together and chat for hours in a row. Both of them were always helping me out with the organization of the house and they would always keep things clean and tidy after the meals (that's very important when you have guests staying, specially if your a not so well organized person like I am. Always happy to do the wichever tasks I asked them to do and with a smile on their face, these are the volunteers you want to have on your side. The only thing I could complain is not having them spending more time helping me out here - two weeks was too short =) Thank you so much people, I already miss you and I really hope to see you again sometime.

He is really kind and gentle for our guests (English Language/Culture exchange program), he helped so much ~all of people really miss him so much, hope to see him again, Thank you so much!!

Emma has been a pleasure to be part of our family for two weeks. She is a great communicator and a hard worker. She has been able to help us with our veggie garden and flower gardens, which is quite a big. Emma always politely asked us if we needed help with meals preparation or if we wanted a cup of tea or coffee. She is very clean and tidy. She is good listener and very good communicator. She loves our dogs and the dogs love her back and always follow her around. We are sad she has to go, but we wish all the best in her adventures and highly recommend her. Mike and Yelena

I spent two weeks at Victoria's house looking after the sweet cat Squeaky. Victoria was my first host, and I couldn't have asked for a better one! Looking after Squeaky was such a joy, and Victoria always responded to my questions and provided support immediately. Thank you so much for the wonderful time, and thank you for letting me participate in your online yoga class! I'm looking forward to coming back again sometime, because I miss Squeaky!😻

We had an incredible stay at this place and felt at home from the very first minute. Andrea and Chandra are wonderful, inspiring people who have created a little oasis near the town of Vetulonia. Chandra’s parents, Robin and Jimmy, were around as well, and it was a true joy to spend time with them. There are plenty of things to do around the property, but depending on the weather, the atmosphere, and what you enjoy as a volunteer, you plan your activities together. I don't think one could ask anything more from a volunteering experience; good people, incredible views, amazing food and lots of laughter! Thank you very very much Andrea and Chandra!

Das war unsere erste Workaway-Erfahrung und wir hätten uns keinen besseren Start wünschen können. Wir haben uns von Anfang an willkommen und gut aufgenommen gefühlt. Für das Essen war immer gesorgt. Zusätzlich haben wir ausreichend Geld bekommen, um selbst einkaufen zu gehen – auch mit unserem großen Hunger hat es mehr als gereicht. Das hat alles reibungslos funktioniert. Die Arbeit war teilweise anstrengend, aber für uns absolut in Ordnung. Besonders das Holzspalten hat uns Männern sehr gefallen – das war körperlich fordernd, aber hat richtig Spaß gemacht. Es war außerdem etwas ganz Besonderes, mitten in der Natur und im Wald zu leben. Diese Ruhe und Umgebung haben wir sehr genossen. Die Sauna war ein echtes Highlight für uns! Auch die Menschen vor Ort waren alle sehr freundlich, offen und hilfsbereit – wir haben uns wirklich wohlgefühlt. Mit Malte lief alles unkompliziert. Egal bei welchem Problem oder Anliegen, er war immer ansprechbar und hat uns so gut geholfen, wie er konnte. Man merkt, dass ihm sein Projekt und die Leute wichtig sind. Unsere Wohnung war sehr gemütlich. Wir hatten eine eigene kleine Wohnung mit Zimmer, Küche, Dusche und WC – alles, was man braucht. Das hat unseren Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht. Für unser erstes Workaway war es eine sehr schöne und positive Erfahrung. Wir wünschen Malte von Herzen alles Gute und viel Erfolg mit seinen weiteren Projekten!
