Description
Hi, I am hoping to find a couple to help me get the garden ready for winter. Some harvesting, mainly cleaning up, harvesting the compost, leaf coverage and planting garlic. If you are able, trail brushing and clearing debris. I have a small acreage in a rural community located in the beautiful ROBSON Valley. If you love the mountains this is a great place to hike, bike, fish, paddle…….

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
While I like to let my helpers ‘figure it out’ I am more than happy to provide guidance in all aspects of my life here. I live alone, happy to share meals, will do the cooking and provide snacks. There is another family living on the land with kids and pets who are kind and social.
Music is a big part of my life. If you want to ‘tickle the ivories’ or strum an instrument you are in the right place. Lots of room to wander outdoors, see wildlife, breathe fresh air and have clean water.
Dunster is a lovely community, the Fraser River runs through it, there is a passenger train, the closest village is McBride, 18km away and Mount ROBSON is half an hour.
In the summer there are farmers markets in the four communities close by. -
Help
5 hours a day, 5 days a week
I need help with the garden, weeding and building some new supports for peas and beans, planting garlic and applying leaf mulch to all the garden beds. I am challenged with years of ‘gardeners back’ and find most digging and bending aspects of the garden to be pretty painful these days. I do however actively putter around the yard most days and like to keep busy making my country home efficient and beautiful. There is an ongoing need to put up firewood, and ever present house maintenance and trail clearing. -

Accommodation
I have a semi private bedroom in the house and the place is all available to you. We will share a bathroom. If you prefer to camp, that can easily be made to be very comfortable. I like to cook healthy dinners and would enjoy sharing them during your time here if you like. Otherwise I can provide groceries if you like the privacy of the van/camp situation. Fruit, granola and yogurt is the standard around here for breakfast. If you have your own camper van I can provide power and water.

What else ...
It would be helpful to have your own transportation as the area is quite rural. Mountain biking and rafting are very popular as well as hiking. Mcbride has a good museum, library, cafe, hospital, grocery stores, train station. It is 18 km west. There are opportunities of all kinds if you do your research.
