I stayed with Irini and Vassilis for 5 weeks. And I can say that I was very lucky to have them at my very first workaway experience! It was exactly what I had been wishing for. From the first second I felt that I was needed, that I was respected and trusted in! They are very kind hosts and they are so keen on making your stay as agreeable as possible, even though their jobs require a lot of energy. Daily chores around the house are transparent and leave enough space for individual timing and decisions. I could learn a lot about Greek daily life and got the opportunity to share several family events and free time activities. I was taken to parties, invitations with friends and traditional dance events and to the local carnival. What an experience! So I got to know quite some interesting and nice people. I particularly appreciated the unimaginable time with Irinis amiable parents in the nearby village of Kritsà, where I helped them with the work in their garden. Ágios Nikólaos is an inviting and lively place, a great town that offers everything you need. Shops, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. There are natural beauties you can explore, you can do fantastic hikes and swim in the sea. Swimming in the sea from early February on: just great! Irini and Vassilis, I thank you so much for the unforgettable time! It would be great to come back again.

Wow what an experience! We stayed at here for 2 months over the winter season and couldn't have asked for a better time. Tor, Ingrid and the other volunteers have a special place in our hearts and we are so grateful for the time we had together. While we were at this place we worked independently on individual tasks and collaborativly as apart of a bigger team. We really appreciated the trust Tor gave us when working on solo/pair projects, such as spreadsheet creating or building a outdoor kitchen. We enjoyed being a part of a ongoing build of the toilet house and are excited to come back and see it when it's complete! When we weren't working, we enjoyed kayaking on the fjord, cooking for the other volunteers, trips to Oslo, hikes in the nearby forest, saunas, a weekend getaway to Stavanger and getting to know people from different countries (mostly Italians for some reason!) We are forever grateful for the experience Tor and Ingrid offered us and for the hospitality we were given. Don't miss the chance to volunteer here! We've made lifelong friends and memories we won't forget!

Paul is a workaway super-star! From the very first moment he was ready to help...from picking olives to prune almond trees, spread compost or play with the kids...whatever is needed to be done, he's there to help :) But not only that: with his vast knowledge of farming, he repared some tools from our tractor, and he is really interested in learning about soil protection, regenerative farming and so we had time to exchange ideas...I'll keep direct seeding some of the cover crops, don't worry Paul, haha! Hopefully you will visit us again in the future!

I had a really great experience staying with this wonderful family. From the moment I arrived, they were incredibly welcoming and made me feel at home straight away. Everyone was friendly and inclusive, and it was easy to feel like part of the family during my stay. They also made a real effort to help us explore some of the surrounding area, which I really appreciated. It made the experience feel like more than just volunteering and gave us the chance to see and enjoy the local environment. The food was another highlight — every meal was very tasty and clearly prepared with care. It was something I always looked forward to each day. The work itself was very fair, and Graham always made sure we clearly understood what was required before starting any task. He also put effort into making the work enjoyable, which made a big difference and created a relaxed and positive atmosphere. Overall, it was a really positive Workaway experience and I’m very grateful for the time I spent with this lovely family. I would definitely recommend staying with them to future Workawayers and would absolutely love to make a return visit. All the best to you all!

Markus is a young Swedish traveler who stayed with us for about two and a half months, from early December 2025 to mid-February 2026. We had a pleasant experience hosting him, and our time together developed into a positive collaboration. Markus is polite, helpful, and generous, qualities that made living and working together easy. He enjoys discovering new places and learning about different cultures, which fits very well with the spirit of Workaway. Markus works best in flexible environments and prefers varied tasks rather than repetitive work. With clear communication and a bit of flexibility in scheduling, the collaboration works well.

Bianca stayed with us for a little over a month, and it was a wonderful experience having her in our home. She did a great job with every task she took on and was always responsible and helpful. She has great organizational skills. Beyond her work, she was also a pleasure to spend time with. Conversations with her were always enjoyable and varied, and it was easy to connect with her. She especially loved spending time with our daughters, and they absolutely loved her as well. It was clear that she genuinely enjoyed being with them, and they looked forward to the time they spent together. Bianca was a joy to have around, and we truly appreciated her positive presence in our home. We would happily recommend her to any host and would welcome her back anytime.

Yarin was a great Workawayer and we really enjoyed hosting him. He was practical and efficient in his work, always making sure to get the job done well. He worked very hard in our garden and was also helpful around the house. Having travelled a lot, he had many entertaining and interesting stories to share and was great to chat with. It was lovely getting to know him during his stay. We wish him all the best with the rest of his travels around New Zealand and would happily host him again when he’s next back this way.

Slim's place is a little oasis on the outskirts of Tunis, full of charm and the personality of Slim and the many hands that have worked on the project. I was there for a week and work consisted of building a coffee bar for the campsite. I enjoyed working with Slim as he has a true DIY ethos that resonates with me and he is a prolific do'er of things. The work day passed quickly as the conversation was always, good whether talking about geopolitics or making stupid jokes. Lunch was always a delicious, sustaining, home cooked meal with plenty of food, so much so that I had a banquet of leftovers by the end of the week! I hope to visit again some day and will miss working in the orange grove and morning coffees with the ducks. Would highly recommend staying with Slim, you will have a great time

It was a great experience and the fulfilment of a dream for me to join Jenny and Luca in harvesting their beautiful blood oranges for a week. A pretty place, views of Etna and the valley, the sweetest fruits, lots of knowledge about permaculture and as a cherry on top philosophical conversations while picking!

Luciana hosted us for a week and it was a really nice experience. The main task was looking after her dogs, which was easy and enjoyable as they are lovely and full of personality. We also helped repair the gutter connected to the rainwater collection system, which was a nice practical project to work on. The atmosphere at her place is very relaxed. It was a pleasure to spend time there and contribute a little to the house. Thank you again Luciana for the week and all the best with your project!

**Translation (natural English):** Although I was only at the host’s school for one day, it already gave me a very good impression. She is very kind, honest, and takes good care of the people in her home. I also spoke with one of the volunteers from Masika, and she was very enthusiastic as well. The school itself is also great and is well run. There are a few small problems, but they can be solved with the help of future volunteers. If I ever come to Kasese again, I will definitely offer to work at this school.

It was a real pleasure to meet Yvette and her cat Kitty. We were both quite busy with work, which we had communicated from the very beginning, and everything worked out smoothly. Her homemade chili was absolutely delicious and kept me well-fed for the first three days!! We also had many interesting conversations about work, life, and the local area, which I truly enjoyed. Kitty was super sweet and even learned to play with her big bug toy during my stay - such cute moments. Yvette, thank you again for the time and your warm hospitality!

Words cannot describe how much we loved staying with this beautiful family! Ricky, Rupa, Apshara, Anil, Dhurba, Saritha, and of course Adrin have truly become family to us - we miss them so much. From the moment we arrived at the farm, they treated us like sisters. They welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that we immediately felt at home. In fact, when we left to continue to another Workaway, we missed them so much that we changed our plans and returned to stay with them for the rest of our time in Nepal! They organized such wonderful experiences for us - momo making, a family picnic, and celebrating Holi together. They included us so naturally in everything they did and made us feel as though we were simply another member of the family. The food was amazing, the family always was making sure we had what we needed, and we truly felt such joy and love helping them with their work. We are already planning our next trip back!!

Hosting Dalila was like having a friend coming to stay with us. She adapted so fast to our routines and family. Respectful, hard working, gentle, fun, intelligent, shared her life, thoughts and ideas with us. It was so great to host Dalila and get to know her. We opened our home to this wonderful person and got a new friend to the family! We are looking forward to meet again! If you get a chance to host Dalila, don't hesitate! She's great! Wishing you Dalila all the best and a lovely intresting trip whereever you go, with lots of love from the whole family!

My overall experience at this lovely little hostel in Granada was really great! I had a very enjoyable time there and would definitely recommend it to other volunteers. The work itself is quite relaxed and manageable, which leaves you with plenty of time to explore the area. Granada is a beautiful and lively place with lots of things to do nearby, so it’s a perfect location if you like discovering new places during your free time. (MUST DO: Rent a kayak at the isletas de Granada on your own and explore the beautiful scenery!!!! it costs like 15 dollars for 2) The hosts, Estefania and her husband Gabriel, are both incredibly kind and welcoming people. They create a friendly atmosphere and make volunteers feel comfortable and appreciated. One of the things I really liked were the perks they offer to volunteers. For example, you get a free visit to Laguna de Apoyo including transportation, which is an amazing experience. They also offer 50% off the entrance fee for the Treehouse Party, which is a lot of fun and a great way to meet people. The hostel is also a very good place to practice and improve your Spanish. Some members of the staff don’t speak much English, so you naturally end up using Spanish in everyday situations, which is actually a great learning opportunity. If you decide to volunteer here, it’s good to know that you’ll often need to figure things out on your own. But if you’re someone who enjoys a bit of independence and trusts yourself, that can actually make the experience even more rewarding. Overall, it was a really positive experience for me and I’m glad I stayed there.

My first workaway experience was here and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The opportunities for ‘learning by doing’ are both relaxed, dynamic and interesting, and shared among the volunteers. I spent most of my time learning and perfecting my skills in pruning fruit trees, collecting branches, learning about permaculture, helping with meals, cleaning, picking flowers and feeding the animals. The accomodation is really nice, I had my own bedroom with french balcony doors facing the olive fields, with a private bathroom with a shower and compost toilet. What a dream waking up there! We made and ate all meals together, while having good conversations. I truly felt that I made good friends here. It was really fun that the host took us on trips, showed us different places and arranged dinner parties. I really felt that the host wanted us to have a good experience! We were many musicians here, and had some good jam-sessions together! We often gathered around the pool or the sauna or bonfires, and enjoyed the nice weather whenever we could. Thanks for having me, this will definitely not be my last stay here!
