Description
I am Luciana and I am taking care of a property on the beach that requires normal maintenance of the beach, special maintenance of the house and extensive garden.
In the area there is no electricity (no fridge!) or running water, we have solar energy system, we take water from a well and collect rainwater.
Help is needed to clean the beach of garbage that arrives by the sea and vegetation (algae), maintenance of the solar system, improvements and maintenance of the rain collector, and to make a project with native plants in the garden.
Our closest neighbors are 60mts on each side, the whole property is surrounded by nature, you can always hear the waves of the sea and the ocean breeze. Looking at the stars at night is an undescriptable natural show to enjoy.
In the house we have 2 cats and 2 dogs, also we look after of 2 to 4 dogs and 1 cat that live on the coast and visit us.
Ideal for those who wish to enjoy the beach, the sea, the reef and the natural environment, away from big cities. Better if you are a couple or travel with someone. Not recommended for children. We may accept pets, let us know about it so we may consider.
The town of Mahahual is 6km down a beach road, easy to get there by bike (not public transportation available besides taxi). There you will find grocery store, bars, restaurants, ice cream shops, bakeries and more.
To get to Mahahual there are public transportation from/to Chetumal every hour starting at 6am to 8pm.
From Cancún/Playa del Carmen/Tulum/Carrillo Puerto there is only one ADO bus and not every day departing from Cancún, please check schedule at the ADO counter, info in the web page is confusing.

Soy Luciana y estoy cuidando una propiedad en la playa que requiere de mantenimiento de la playa, mantenimiento especial en la casa y extenso jardín.
En el área no hay electricidad (no hay refrigerador!) o agua corriente, contamos con sistema de energía solar, usamos el agua de un pozo y colectamos agua de lluvia.
Se necesita ayuda para limpiar la playa de basura que llega por el mar y de vegetación (algas), mantenimiento del sistema solar, mejoras y mantenimiento del colector de lluvia, y para hacer un proyecto con plantas nativas en el jardín.
Nuestros vecinos más cercanos están a 60mts de cada lado, todo el terreno está rodeado de naturaleza, se escuchan las olas del mar y la brisa en las palmeras.
Mirar las estrellas en la noche es un espectáculo indescriptible para deleitarse.
En la casa tenemos 2 gatos y 2 perros, además nos visitan 2 a 4 perros y 1 gato que viven en la costa y cuidamos de ellos.
Ideal para quienes deseen disfrutar de la playa, el mar, el arrecife y el entorno natural alejado de las grandes ciudades. De preferencia parejas o si estás viajando con alguien. No es recomendado para niños. Si viajas con tu mascota avísanos, podríamos considerarlo.
El pueblo de Mahahual está a 6km por un camino costero de playa, fácil de llegar con una bicicleta (no hay transporte público excepto taxi). Allí encontrarás tienda de abarrotes, bares, restaurantes, heladerías y panaderías.
Para llegar a Mahahual hay transporte público cada hora desde/hacia Chetumal iniciando a las 6am hasta las 8pm.
Desde Cancún/Playa del Carmen/Tulum/Carrillo Puerto hay un bus ADO que sale desde Cancún, verifica el horario y días de salida en una oficina o mostrador de ADO, la información en la página web de ADO es confusa.

I am looking for help to maintain the beach, there is a lot of garbage that comes from the sea as well as algae and vegetation that grows, in addition to the maintenance and constant improvements that the house requires.

Conocimientos sobre bioconstrucción, carpintería, electricidad (energía solar), plomería, pintura artesanal para murales u otros conocimientos de artesanías son bienvenidos para embellecer la casa.
Por favor considera que todos los trabajos serán físicamente demandantes, hasta para ir al pueblo en bicicleta deberás recorrer de 6 a 9km (18km ida y vuelta) en clima tropical (calor, humedad...)

We offer you to sleep in a tent placed in the garden with mattress and sheets, with the best view of the sea and the stars.
You will have access to a private bathroom that is outside the house.
We also have a grill (campfire) under-roof with a table and chairs to prepare your meals with basic supplies (oil, salt, coffee ...). We don't have a refrigerator (that may change with your help).
Purified water to drink is provided (do not buy plastic bottles!).
Your entire stay will be outdoors (bath and grill area under roof).

In places as small as the place where we live solidarity between neighbors is very important. We like to meet and help each other.
We always seek a friendly and equitable treatment.
You will have a cooler available to store your food, a bicycle, internet access (quality depends on the service!), snorkeling equipment and kayaks.
We will be happy to help you have a good time enjoying the beach and nature.
Working hours are flexible but every day is important to do a task or activity for the maintenance of the house and the property.
Couples are welcome as well as 2 friends traveling together.

We spent 10 days with Luciana on her beautiful property, she took us snorkelling and we enjoyed our time there. She has 5 dogs and 2 cats who are all super cute! Fue realmente encantador tener a esta joven pareja en casa! Si que trabajan duro! Todos los días se veía cómo iban dejando los espacios mucho más bonitos. We had the best time at Luciana’s place. For sure you have to love the outdoor-life and what it brings, but if you are creative and openminded you will have a great time.

Llegar a Mahahual en medio de una semana de lluvia, poco viento y muchos mosquitos no es un escenario ideal! Eso no desanimó a Camille y Baptiste para "sobrevivir"!!! Lograron cocinar al fuego de leña todos los días, y en cuanto salió el sol hicieron snorkel y disfrutaron la playa!
