It was a delightful time having Amanda with us. She truly speaks the language of children and understands their world so well. She is interesting, smart, polite, and a joy to talk to—a young woman with remarkable maturity. She is an amazing cook; every day she prepared a wonderful lunch for us. She also kept the house very tidy and helped us organize different spaces inside the home. I truly recommend Amanda. She is an old soul in a young body. Thank you for everything, querida Amanda. She is incredibly talented and has so much to offer wherever she goes—we only wish she had stayed longer with us.

Spending time and working with the family was an unforgettable experience. Each member of the family left a unique mark on me and excited to keep in contact and watch them grow. Isabelle is a fantastic cook with such a sweet heart. Julian is determined and laser focused on completing the project he and his family has started. Julianna is creative, intelligent, and a savage when it comes to card games. Sebastian has a positive and welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home and a part of the family. We often played games, painted, went out to eat, and laughed together. The work was not difficult and Julian gave clear expectations. The 1:1 Spanish lessons were soooo helpful and I got to help the family too by speaking in my native tongue (English). I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving me a real, local, and absolute kind Colombian experience.

Kristen and Max are exceptional guests! Not only are they skilled and uber helpful, but they are bright, joyful, and contribute so much with their positive energies. We were delighted to host them for a month before they had to journey on—and they have a standing invitation to return anytime. Kristen is a kitchen magician (among other talents) and Max is a wiz at handy-work and maintenance. They are clean, conscientious, and fun guests—don't miss out on hosting these guys.

My time at Wachberghof was truly wonderful, and my work and travel experience couldn't have started better. From day one, I felt like part of Ralph and Heidi's family. I learned so much and was able to put my existing skills to good use. Ralph is a great boss who likes to explain things several times and then trusts you to complete tasks independently. Outside of work, you can always have a good chat with him about anything. I was never bored in my free time either; the Franconian Forest is a fantastic area, especially for nature lovers. I wish you all the best and I'm sure we'll see each other again sometime. Meine Zeit auf dem Wachberghof war eine richtig schöne Zeit und meine Zeit als Work und traveller hätte nicht besser beginnen können. Vom ersten Tag an hab ich mich als Teil der Familie von Ralph und Heidi gefühlt. Ich durfte viel Neues lernen und konnte auch meine bereits vorhandenen Fähigkeiten gut einbringen. Ralph ist ein guter Chef, der die Dinge gern auch mehrmals erklärt und schenkt einem dann das Vertrauen, die Aufgabe selbständig zu erledigen. Auch neben der Arbeit kann man mit ihm gut über alles mögliche reden. Auch in der Freizeit war mir nie langweilig, besonders für Naturliebhaber ist der Frankenwald eine tolle Umgebung. Ich wünsch euch alles das Beste und bin sicher, dass wir uns mal wieder sehen

Tomo is a very gentle and polite person. She came from another corner of the world so we were delighted to have her with us. We really could feel Japanese culture when she was around! It was wonderful having you Tomo and best of luck on your travels!

Uma is a very good volunteer who created sympathy with the students and socialized with us. I am very happy that she chose to stay with us and that we got to show her a bit more of Moroccan way of life and culture. I recommend her not only to other language centers but to any kind of host!

I had a truly wonderful and heartwarming experience staying with Ilyas and his family in Antalya.From the very beginning, I felt very safe and comfortable, which is something I really appreciated. The food they prepared for me was incredibly delicious, and sharing meals together made me feel at home.I also had the opportunity to help take care of the baby, and it was such a special experience. The baby is absolutely adorable and always brought a smile to my face.The tasks were simple and clearly explained. I am very grateful for this experience.Thank you so much for everything!

I volunteered for almost 6 weeks here and honestly I wish I could have stayed longer but my visa was ending. The place is very chilled, the other volunteers are all great people, the managers Kiera & Jason intense sweethearts and funny persons and Kiera is a great cook and she has decent humor. 7/10. Be prepared though for some big mouthed remarks! The place is very relaxing with loads of chill spaces and the work U do is not too much and it is fun (if u like social kind of work and interacting with the many different guests u encounter during your stay), but even if u need some time for yourself U can for sure take that aswell. The surf is amazing. I was at ‘wrong’ season (summer) and still had good surf almost daily. Honestly all I have to say is more positive jibberjabber; I really liked the place and I highly recommend it. Now let’s see with the boss has to say about me?!

I had a great time at Barbara's place, she has a beautiful garden and with the 4 dogs you rarely get bored :) I had some problems with tendonitis and we managed to find some work that I could do without problems, orange i am very grateful for. The only negative thing for me was that there was not a lot of cultural exchange, we had some nice talks later on, but it felt a little bit like being friendly neighbors living in the same building instead of living in somebody's home.

Our two-week stay with Samuel was amazing! We helped in the garden, did some cleaning, little bit of computer work, and even took part in some fun artistic painting. We had a big, cozy room with our own bathroom. Samuel took us out to town and restaurants, and introduced us to people from his circle, which made us feel very welcome. He also helped us a lot with our luggage that we didn’t receive at the airport, which was incredibly kind of him. We absolutely loved listening to Samuel’s stories and spending time with Balou and Paolina his adorables two dogs. Lots of laughs, great memories, and beautiful connections. We wish you all the best Samuel, see soon in Switzerland, Thank you for everything!

I had a great time at this farm, everyone was so nice and down to earth. Taking care of the animals was minimal work and super straightforward. Bianca made us feel super included with everything. I hope to come back and volunteer here again someday!

I was at the hostel for only 3 weeks, but I had such a good time. The hostel itself was great and very quickly felt like home, it attracts a good crowd of volounteers, and i had a lot of laughs over the short time I was living there. Both Richard and the work are super chill, would definitely recommend:)

I spent two months (December '25 - January 2026) at Nicole's farm in Brakwater, 20km north of Downtown Windhoek. In one sentence: I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and hope to come back. Now the detailed feedback: when I looked for a host in Namibia, Nicole's ad sounded like the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time in a beautiful place far away from home. Nothing more than that. After having read her three books, Nicole had grown on me so much that I was at a loss for words the first time we met. I found her to be such an inspiring person and was surprised to see how natural and modest she is despite of all her achievements. Nicole needed someone to look after the farm while she and her daughter Julie were spending the Christmas holidays in Tanzania (at the largest of her three orphanages / day care centres). She left very detailed instructions in writing on how to go about the daily routines. Those were as accurate as is her ad here on workaway. Besides tending to all those adorable animals my co-worker Jordan and me kept the house, the pool and the surroundings clean and in the evenings I would collect and administrate the revenues from the bushmen walks. On average I was working about 4 hours per day. In return my co-worker Jordan and me stayed in the neatest rooms of the house. Food wasn't included but Nicole left us her car for shopping groceries in Elisenheim. From time to time we went downtown or someplace else for a change of scenery. Other than that, I enjoyed the slow-paced life on the farm and the beautiful surroundings. In short: this job is perfect for you if you - enjoy calm places out in the nature - working with animals - don't mind getting your hands dirty - want to support somebody who is deeply engaged in making the world a better place - are into pedagogical or therapeutic work with handicapped children Enjoy!:)

Maren Mitra and the whole gang were very welcoming and you felt like you’re part of the family. There was no question left unanswered and surely some singing and dancing was happening. The kids are adorable There is always something to do then also :)

I spent almost a month with Miša, Stefan and their 5-year-old son. From the very first day, I felt at home and noticed that they were used to having guests. They were very welcoming and always invited me to join them when there was an opportunity to go out or carpool. They always had good advice for sightseeing or hiking. At the same time, I always felt like I had my own space in the house and time to myself. One of my tasks during my stay was to speak English with their son. This proved to be more difficult than expected as he was starting from scratch. Nevertheless, he is a very curious and creative boy with whom I was able to share some good times playing board games. During my stay, I had the opportunity to participate in several family events and meet the grandparents, which was always enjoyable. Don't worry about the location, there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area and great conversations with Miša and Stefan await you at home. They are great hosts and I hope to have the opportunity to return to see them and their new kitten, see the improvements to the house and eat the best porridge ever ! ;) I wish you all the best and hope to see you again =)

I had a lovely time with Nazan in her adorable house! It was too short unfortunately, but the week I spent there in the mountains was amazing. The old house has so much character with its stunning view, the steep walking path from the parking lot to the house, the wooden stove to heat the house and natural building materials. I got a true glimpse of what it’s like to live in the mountains (which isn’t always easy). I helped around with various tasks, including setting up a greenhouse and constructing some stone steps (which is like a puzzle to make). Nazan is a good teacher, and always asks if everything is okay. I really enjoyed the conversation we had about life. Nazan's friend came and they welcomed me to join the birthday activity including a beautiful walk in the mountains and a spa trip. With the precious time they had, I really appreciate that. The food was good and healthy. If you are up to some quiet, peaceful time with good talks, then this is the place to be. Thanks a lot for the good time, your warm heart and your generosity. All the best for you Nazan (and for Andreas too) !

Lottie was a wonderful companion at home. It was clear she had traveled extensively, and this was reflected in her mature and sociable nature. She cared for the dogs with dedication, shared with everyone in the house, and was always willing to help with extra chores. Polite, kind, diligent, friendly and always smiling. She shared fascinating stories with us and even got to spend time together exploring surroundings! It was a true pleasure having her at home, and we miss her dearly.
