Matthew was a great workawayer! We hosted him only for 2 months that went by quickly. He is a very smart , knowledgeable guy with a good sense of humour. We had great conversations of the most varied topics and I can recommend him to any other postential host. He will always be welcome here .

Jaime is a great guy and a conscientious host. I could tell right away that he was serious about making sure his volunteers have the best time possible and get the most out of Queretaro. His house has a super relaxed atmosphere and it's located right in the center of the city with tons of stuff to do if you're willing to put yourself out there. For anyone looking to meet great people and immerse themselves in Mexican culture, I'd highly recommend this place. Also, shout out to Frita.

We had an amazing 3 nights staying with Can and Sevda! They are both extremely welcoming, hospitable and lovely people that we had the pleasure to get to know. Being Australians, Can was extremely kind and took us both on his own personalised Gallipolli tour to different memorials and locations around the area that related to our ANZAC soldiers. We can not thank him enough for that experience! Not only that, we had the opportunity to cook tradition Turkish dumplings (manti) together for dinner one night which was a lot of fun! For our accommodation we had our own private home on his property with a bathroom and kitchen, all of which was very clean and tidy. The work was very easy and flexible, we helped clear rubbish in a part of the garden and took it to the dump. The experience was definitely more focused on a cultural exchange, we learnt so much about each others cultures through conversation during the day and over dinner. Overall we would highly recommend this experience to anyone!

Gracias

This was my first workaway experience and wow ! I really felt that in the short time I was in Kelaa I was able to feel a sense of belonging and community. I was welcomed so warmly by everyone at school and in Kelaa more widely. Several of the teachers went out of their way to show me around and introduce me to some of their local customs and traditions. Said was extremely helpful and very generous with his time. He would happily show us around Kelaa, including taking us to the weekly Souk. My lessons were enjoyable and my students were keen to learn. Often there is a greater demand for classes than 15 hours a week, but the receptionist staff are helpful, so just let them know what your working capacity is and if you need to make any adjustments to your timetable. Sundays are always free and a good opportunity for a day trip. Rachid can also offer some Darija classes if you're interested in learning and can also help with organising trips on Sundays. I really do hope that I have the chance to return to Kelaa in the near future - inshallah! Bsslama

Suse is just amazing! She really is one of a kind and has left on me an everlasting and very positive mark. She is the kind of person that lights up the room when she enters and always has a fascinating story to tell. She is also very devoted, and I got to learn a lot staying at her place. I learned how to build, paint, brush-cut, use a chainsaw, etc., but most importantly I got to learn more about Tasmania, its people and its way of life. With all these skills I learned, Suse was great at advertising me for doing odd jobs, and I was able to work for the neighbours during my free time. I have fallen in love with Tassie and the Far South; so many great people, so many magnificent landscapes to see, it must now be in my top 5 of places on earth. In fact, I liked it here so much that I cancelled my flight to go back to the mainland to stay 2–3 weeks more. So thanks again, Suse! I will miss you and Tassie.

I stayed at Izabella’s house for a week, and it was a truly memorable experience. I really appreciate how much Izabella tried to help me experience everything I wanted during my stay. I truly enjoyed spending time with the students at the school, going for walks with Holly, and tasting delicious Polish food. Every day was full of meaningful moments. I was also very impressed by their renovation work and all the other projects they were working on. Seeing how much effort, care, and passion they put into their home and daily life was truly inspiring. I’m very grateful to have met such a beautiful and kind family. They truly deserve all the happiness!! Thank you so much for welcoming me! I’ll never forget this experience!

Jose is a very good guy! He stayed for two weeks and helped out a lot with olive harvesting, varnishing and house sitting. He is calm, knowledgeable and shows an interest in getting to know both the people and the area. We can certainly recommend him as a workawayer to anyone!

It was a beautiful experience for all three of us (for our dog Bolt as well) at Yoav’s place. Yoav is a gentle, generous, and kind person who truly makes you feel welcome. We formed beautiful friendships with other Workawayers and had the opportunity to exchange cultures, meals, and stories. The farm is a stunning piece of land with the cutest animals, sheep, chickens, cats, and a dog. Yoav’s dog, Heevie, is beautiful and a true guardian of the quinta. We engaged in various activities such as olive picking, bramble clearing, and other tasks around the land. There is always something to do at the quinta. For Workawayers with skills in carpentry, renovation, or painting, there are several interesting projects to get involved in. Work on Yoav’s farm never feels like work because of the flexible schedule and the serenity of the land. There is plenty of time to relax and truly enjoy the experience. The nearby towns are lovely to explore, making weekends especially enjoyable, and there is a beautiful lake close by that is absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend Yoav’s place and would love to do Workaway here again if we get the chance.

Yuna is the type of person that spreads her love and joy everywhere. She is a wonderful human and has a beautiful soul. Her energy is authentic and uplifting, and she has a natural ability to connect with people and create a positive atmosphere. In addition to helping me with the routine hostel tasks, she also gifted me with a beautiful piece of art that I will cherish always. Thank you Yuna for being the person that you are! Pura Vida !

I stayed about 10 days with Judy and David and I really enjoyed it. I love being in nature and around animals. Taking care of the sheeps, lambs and chickens was my favourite thing to do. It was one of the best workaways I have done as you can really help on their farm and they also take the time to explain if you have questions. Most important is that Judy and David are really good hearted people and you don't find this everyday. Hope to see you soon in Switerland ;)

I stayed at Harshit's place for almost four weeks. The food was great, and the accommodation offered complete privacy. They are a family of educators, and I always met every one of them with a huge smile, which made me feel incredibly happy and welcomed. I also made good memories with the volunteers staying there. Harshit, despite his very strict schedule, took us to visit his native place. He also took some time to teach us how to play board and card games. The children at the school were some of the coolest kids I have ever met. The school is not a conventional institution it feels like a life-learning experience. Both the kids and teachers have a lot of freedom. They don't just study they have dedicated time in their daily schedule for play. I was fortunate enough to go on a trek with the kids on my last day—it was the best memory I made there. The kids also wished me on my birthday a week after I had left the place, which I found very heart-melting. I met them as a stranger, but now they feel like my family. I don't have much time right now, but I will make sure to visit them if I ever go to the South again.

Working with Evonne was a highlight of my time in the area. She is a truly wonderful person who radiates friendliness and warmth. From our very first interaction, she made me feel completely welcome and always went out of her way to check in and make sure I was happy. She has a rare gift for making people feel like part of the family immediately. Her property is massive and beautiful, and she works incredibly hard to maintain it. Because she is such a generous and kind host, I think it is important for future volunteers to bring that same level of hard work and initiative to the table. She deserves helpers who are as dedicated and focused as she is! It was a pleasure to support her projects, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a host who is respectful, trusting, and genuinely caring. Thank you, Evonne!

Hosting Claudia was a super good experience! She is a very hard worker and even if we worked more than a volunteer should do she always offered her help and was happy and thankful after a long long day. She did not only helped in the fields picking olives but also helped with the kitchen... Very clean, organized and easy to get along. We had a lot of fun together and are very thankful for her helping hand in a bit stressful time for us. We wish you all the best Claudia, and you know, you can always come back and we will probably work less. Have a good journey, Lina, Luis, Amelia and Lucía

Oh yes, Ludi! Cats & paint is not a good combination...!! It was great and inspiring to have you here in my writing- and living space in the mountains of Asturias. You were good company and I enjoyed the time with you very much. We had a lot of talks about travel, writing, making films, photography, music, etc. You helped me also a lot in the house. Not only the painting job you did excellent but you created some tasty meals as chef in the kitchen too. Hope you will finish (and sell) your book soon. I am looking forward to have a copy in my hand and read it!
