Description
2 positions open! Please read below carefully before reaching out and list which position you are interested in with your message. Pura Vida!
#1 - ***August/September/October - Caretaker Role/Social Media (details below):
It is important to note that these months the hostel will be CLOSED and the position will be living on site as a caretaker ONLY. Lodging only is provided, as the restaurant will be closed for most of those dates. Must be a responsible person and comfortable with being alone and comfortable with downtime. Couple/Friends will be considered. We are located in a very remote area, but 2 min walk to the beach. This role is not for someone that wants to meet new people and have an active social life. This role is for someone looking for a break from a busy life and find inner peace with nature and self love.
#2 - ***December/January/February/March/April - Standard Workaway Program - Reception/Cleaning (details below)
The number one focus of this program is to interact with our guests. Our hostel has a very strong service culture and we pride ourselves on giving the best service to our guests. You will also be interacting with our amazing and hard working staff, so it is important to us that you feel as part of our team. We all work hard, but we have fun and make the most of every day.
Playa Grande is a small beach surfer town that projects the true 'pura vida' lifestyle of Costa Rica. We are located in a National Park also, so you will not find the beach lined with bars and restaurants, so it feels like an undiscovered paradise. And although there are a few options for restaurants, there is not a wild party scene nor ‘nightlife’ that can be found in the neighboring town of Tamarindo. We like to say we are close but FAR from Tamarindo, meaning we are close enough that if you want to do a night of bar hopping in Tamarindo that is very possible via taxi (40 mins and $30), but you are far enough that you won't feel that constant party atmosphere. Most of our guests come to Playa Grande to relax and escape that wild tourist scene, sleep in a hammock, lay on the beach, and surf. With all this being said, you can also get to Tamarindo quickly during the day (8:30AM - 4:30PM) via the water taxis, 15 beach walk and 3 min boat ride. The hostel is located in a high end gated community very close to the estuary that separates Playa Grande and Tamarindo. It is a very remote location with 1 small market and 3 restaurant options. We are a 35 min walk (15 min bike ride) from Playa Grande North.
We have the following full time salaried staff that you will be working with: cleaning, maintenance, and reception.Types of help and learning opportunities

You will meet people from all over the world and also experience the 'pura vida' life in Costa Rica.
