If you are able to, this workaway is a must do!! Staying with Krisztina made me feel like a princess with her beautiful garden, delicious food, and the stunning volcano/lake view I got to see instantly after stepping out of my room in the morning. Her dogs are beautiful and very funny little characters I will miss them so much and really hope I can see them again! Walking them was much more a pleasure then a chore because they are so well behaved and the nature we could experience with them was breathtaking. Afterwards it would follow with a simple task like doing some dinner prep or grabbing some produce from town. Krisztina is lovely to talk with during dinner, and I cant think of a single complaint if I tried. Coming here will be a highlight in my life ill cherish forever. Thank tou Krisztina 🩷🩷

I do not have enough words to express my gratitude for the great support I received from Kerry and Simon. Both of them made my first experience in Perth feel truly like home. I spent two and a half months assisting Simon, during which I gained valuable experience learning to drive trucks and operate a forklift, working closely with vehicles and engines, and using hand tools on a regular basis. There are very few people as generous and kind as they are. Thanks to Kerry, I also had the opportunity to discover the most important places in Fremantle, enjoy meaningful conversations, and share discussions about music and food from different cultures. Unfortunately, I had to leave Perth, but I sincerely hope to return and see them again in the future.

Anybody who has Joel as a volunteer will be so lucky. Joel is a very kind, responsible, and honest person, and having him around was truly a big help for me and for the sanctuary. He never refused to do anything and was always ready to help, no matter the task. He is someone you can really count on — always on time, reliable, and with a great attitude. There were never any bad surprises with him, only positive ones. Joel was originally supposed to stay for 5 weeks, but in the end he stayed for 3 months, which already says a lot about the kind of person he is and how committed he was. We are very sad to see him go, but unfortunately the visa situation in Thailand did not allow him to stay longer. For me, it is extremely important to have people I can trust with my animals, and with Joel I felt completely at ease. I could fully depend on him, and that means a lot when you run a sanctuary. I wholeheartedly recommend Joel to anyone looking for a volunteer. He is a wonderful person and a real help to have around.

Georg adapts very well and enjoys interacting with everyone. He is very polite, simple, communicative, friendly, responsible, autonomous, independent, creative, hardworking, and efficient. He accepted all the new challenges with his friendly and spontaneous beautiful smile. He fixed more than 10 bicycles, organized the tool shed, and helped with household chores. This was all in just a few weeks. He was kind enough to leave his space very clean and organized. Georg will always have a place in our project!

These boys were a pleasure to host . We generally host a lot of people every year. And these boys were one of our best. They came at the end of the season which is usually less exciting and they helped keep the camp up beat and interesting. They have great communication skills and are very easy going . They know how to appriciate the experience for what it is . Always ready to help and always happy to have a conversation. 😊

Even though Amane stayed with us for only one week, she left a positive impression on our whole family. Her kindness, openness, and positive attitude really helped her connect with the kids. She was efficient and always happy to help, whether it was preparing honey, picking fruits, or simply sharing everyday moments with us. Beyond the work, we truly enjoyed the conversations and shared experiences. We wish you the best Amane !

Sergio spent almost two months here on the farm in the summer of 2025. He arrived without any experience in physical or specifically farm work. But that's exactly what he wanted to experience, feel and learn. At the same time, a very experienced young man in farm work was here, who patiently and skillfully taught him many basics. Sergio was very interested, eager to learn, and worked hard to complete the tasks perfectly. Sergio is a digital nomad and works until midnight for his job. Nevertheless, he was with us every morning on time and ready for physical work. In the time he was here, he became a diligent worker. We had similar interests in diverse topics and he was very good in sharing his considerable knowledge to me and the other workawayers. Furthermore, he is a very polite, funny and friendly young man, open and interested in all people. Many thanks for the nice time together and your refreshing present! All the best for your future Sergio, Gabriele

Noelle was our first workaway experience and one we won’t forget. She was an absolute pleasure to have and we thoroughly enjoyed showing her life in Scotland. She was amazingly helpful, turning her hand to anything that was required. She felt a truly treasured member of the family during her stay. Always interesting to talk to, enthusiastic, kind and thoughtful. Anyone would be lucky to have her. We hope she will come back and see us again one day.

Fanya integrated incredibly well into our family and quickly felt like a natural part of it. She connected easily with the kids, played and talked with them. She was efficient and very autonomous in her work, which we truly appreciated. Beyond the practical help, it was a pleasure to talk with her and share moments together. Having her with us was a really nice experience, and we would recommend her to any future host. We hope you'll join us soon and wish you the best !

Marielle and Joost welcomed us into their home two days before leaving for their holiday and patiently explained everything to us: all the important details about the chickens, the house, and the garden. They even took us crab fishing, showed us how to fish in the fjord, provided us with fishing equipment, and taught us how to use their boat, which they very generously made available to us for the entire duration of our stay. In addition, we carried out a few small tasks around the house, which we genuinely enjoyed doing. The location is absolutely stunning, directly on a beautiful fjord, and only about a 7-minute drive to the small village of Selje, where there is a supermarket, a petrol station, and a library. The region itself is incredibly beautiful and diverse—truly indescribable. We felt completely at home throughout our stay. The house is wonderful both inside and out, and we were always in touch with the hosts; communication was excellent at all times. We would like to sincerely thank Marielle and Joost once again for this wonderful experience and wish them all the very best as they continue to enjoy their shared life in this truly unique place on Earth.

Sebastian was a great help in the month he stayed as a volunteer. Good company, gave good advice, good conversation. He was great at boarding the insulation in the roof, and found a leak above a bedroom. He even made an attic trap door. We couldn't finish it, but it works really well with it's pulley system and weight. Sebastian is a design engineer and can design anything using his laptop program. I needed opening glass panels on doors, so he did the working designs. He also cooked tasty food. His English was already good, but really improved while here. He learnt a lot of phrases and expressions. Thank you for all your help

We have been staying at the site for two weeks and it has been a great expirience! We worked at the tiny houses and learnt a lot about carpenteering and we prepared the ground and assembled the circus tent which has been a wonderful team job. The amount of work was just right exept for a couple of busier days which have anyway been very satisfying. Putting effort in such a beautiful project makes even the hardest and hottest days well spent. JP is one the kindest people ever met, he is constantly taking care of everyone, on top of the million things he already has to do. Food came punctually every day, it was "aroi mak" (delicious), various and nourishing, indeed the best part of our days! What else to be said? If we hadn't had to leave we would have gladly stayed more time!

We were truly blessed to have Joel and Leonie help at the sanctuary for a month. They are friendly, funny, and compassionate people who regularly went above and beyond. They showed genuine care for the animals and formed special bonds during their stay. Joel is incredibly hard-working and skilled. He completed several large concrete projects including a new feeding pad for the cows and floor for one of the new chicken houses. He also made significant progress in our weed control programs. We were incredibly fortunate to have his specialised trade skills. Leonie is a standout volunteer. She is kind, hard-working, and showed a natural intuition for animal care. Her attention to detail ensured that every task - from feeding to cleaning - was done to the highest standard. She was truly fantastic with the animals, prioritising their comfort and well-being in everything she did. She also prepared some absolutely delicious meals! We would welcome them back in a heartbeat, and highly recommend them to any host.

We had an amazing 3 weeks working at the dog shelter and really got to know the dogs well in that time. The daily tasks were enjoyable and as described in the profile. My only critic would be that the living situation was not what we expected and communication once we had arrived was always a little bit last minute. however this did not take away from the experience. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy spending you time with dogs and getting your hands (and clothes) dirty!

This volunteer experience has been nice! The work mainly consists of cleaning and advising guests when they need it. I was also able to help with the decorating by painting murals 🎨. Patrice is a host who loves spending time with guests and volunteers through various activities 🎸🐟⛱️. He knows how to listen when you need it, and he and his family make you feel at home! 🙌🏻 This experience also allowed me to learn how to manage a hostel and see the complexity of this work during the 10 days when Patrice couldn't be there. This time allowed me to develop new skills! This volunteer work is also the perfect opportunity to learn and develop your surfing skills 🏄🏼‍♀️, learn Spanish or simply chill out on the beach ☀️

we had a short but fantastic time in ferrel, but we were so glad to have spent the time we did there. Paul and Lucy are very kind and welcoming. The work was fun, flexible and easy going. We felt very welcome in Ferrel by the end of our stay. One day we will be back to enjoy the sunshine, waves and (now) friends!!

Matias speaks excellent English, cooks great and is extremely helpful. The exchange with him and his friends are very appreciated. The accommodation is comfortable although the location is a bit far from downtown. It is very quiet in the wood with nice birds. The tasks were simple - floor polishing, wood collecting from the garden and gardening. I recommend for anyone who is interested in culture exchange and learn more about the wildlife in Patagonia as Matias is very very knowledgable.
