Thank you to Daniel and Kath for hosting us at Wallaya Farm for just over a week. Daniel is a patient teacher and, above all, an excellent cook! We learned so much during our stay here: roof repair, fence installation, animal care, creating a vegetable garden... The farm is beautiful, a little paradise surrounded by a national park, and very peaceful in the middle of splendid flora and fauna. The walk to the Gerringong waterfall is well worth the detour!

I really enjoyed my volunteering experience in Barra de California. Kevin is a very kind, generous, and welcoming person. I especially appreciated sharing meals with him, and he is a great cook! The tasks were varied and well balanced. One day, I would work with Kevin on activities like painting, DIY projects, or repairing bikes. The next day, I would be at the school: in the morning with younger children at daycare, and in the afternoon with older kids teaching basic English. I loved working with the children, and it also helped me improve my Spanish, as I prepared my lessons in English but explained them in Spanish. I also had a good amount of free time, with a bike available to explore the area, which is really beautiful. However, it’s important to know that the experience can be quite calm and sometimes a bit solitary, so you should be comfortable spending time on your own and enjoy exploring by yourself. One small downside is that the workdays with Kevin are not always very organized, and tasks can be given at the last minute. It’s not a big issue, but it’s good to be aware of it. Finally, an important tip: make sure to confirm your arrival with Kevin while you are on the bus, and do not get off at Santa Cantina stop, but at the next one (this is not mentioned in the description).

We would like to sincerely thank Inigo for his time with us. He brought a very kind and gentle spirit, and it was clear that he connected well with fellow volunteers. Our preschool teachers especially appreciated having him around as his presence was warm and supportive, and he shared valuable knowledge that enriched the environment for both the team and the children. He showed openness, respect, and a genuine interest in the local community, which we deeply value. It was a pleasure to have someone who engaged thoughtfully and contributed with such a positive attitude. We understand that his journey across Africa included a range of experiences, and we sincerely hope that at least during his time with us he felt the care, intention, and dedication of our team. While not everything can be foreseen, we do our best to create a space where each person feels supported and genuinely welcomed, as part of a family built on love, honesty, and commitment to our work. Although he was not able to stay for the full planned period, we are very grateful for the time we shared, as well as for his grace, knowledge, and understanding of local realities. Inigo will always be welcome back, and we would be happy to host him again in the future to continue growing and sharing together!

Twan and Romy just spent a refreshing and productive month with us . Twan is a multi skilled hard worker with a determination to get a task done. We blitzed many areas of our homestead - from over grown gardens, to finishing stone walls and redecorating interior walls. His level positive energy was a pleasure to have around. The dogs loved their regular morning and evening hikes - they are missed by all! Welcome back anytime !

Very surprised about Judith commentary. I really tried to welcome her and do my best though I was really busy and did not have enough time to spend with her I took her to the town, made her meet friends, cooked for her.... surprising... I wish she had talk instead of leaving this comment... Not very respectful... good luck

I stayed in Ireland for two weeks and had a wonderful experience with Deej. The place is very quiet and peaceful — you can hear the birds and really enjoy nature. It’s a large property with an old house and plenty of land filled with trees, creating a calm and inspiring atmosphere. During my stay, I helped with renovation work such as painting, as well as outdoor tasks like preparing the ground for the vegetable garden and planting flowers and trees. The work was varied and enjoyable. Evenings were especially nice, as we shared delicious vegetarian meals together with Deej, the other Workawayers, and the artist residents. It was a great opportunity to connect and exchange experiences. Deej was also very kind and welcoming. She took me to the nearby town for a walk with her dog, and we visited Cloughjordan Eco Village, which I was very interested in. She even treated us to a restaurant meal to thank us, which was very thoughtful. Overall, I had a peaceful, meaningful, and enriching stay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys nature, creativity, and a relaxed atmosphere.

We got so lucky to stay with Shawn and Michael for two weeks! In the first week, they showed us how to take care of all of their animals and in the second week they went on holiday and we got to do it all on our own. We learned soo much about how to take care of different kinds of animals, had the most stunning room with a balcony and delicious vegan food! They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, were so generous and we truly had the best time at their sanctuary. It was so beautiful to see how they would do everything to promise all of their animals a forever home. We were soo happy when they asked us to come back and we’re counting the days already!

We were delighted to have Charlie as a volunteer, and only sorry that she couldn't be with us for more than one week. The highlight of the week was her presentation to the children about her amazing travels to over 70 countries.

Jodi and everyone I met on the island made you feel at home from minute one! I have a lot of workaway experience but I was seriously in danger of getting to cozy there, I felt I was a family member and loved everyone genuinely! I can recommend this workaway for anyone who loves gardening and dogs, it’s a nice garden to look after and not too hard. You can also find your projects a bit and part of the job is to play with Mika (the dog) who loves chasing balls on the beach! We went on a little swimming trip on the boat, to the Reptile Park learning all about snakes and spiders and loved ending the day with a card game or binge watching. The island is peaceful and the perfect start or end to your visit to Sydney. I had jet lag the first days but it was much better than being in the city. The accommodation is cozy, you have your separate apartment and shower. But I liked to cook and have dinner together (and chocolate!) The islanders are truly amazing See you again!! Love you Jodi Mika ava and zeph All the best <33

Jannik is a great man. He is super friendly and a cool guy. He helped us for a month. He has good communication with my staff and guests all the time. He is very energetic. He helped us chop wood, cut the trees and carried some heavy stuff. Mostly he took care of the hostel for a few hours a day. He welcomed the guests, helped them with their questions. He introduced them to the facilities in the hostel. I appreciate what he did in the hostel. He is always welcome to my hostel.

Our stay at Carlos's place was very nice. Carlos is a very wise and open minded person. He cooked for us amazing food. He was always happy to talk and spend time together (and play Wizard ;D). He introduced us to his friends, family and best spots in town. We stayed for 2 weeks and helped to renovate the house (mainly painting). The location is 15min walking to the beach. There is a place to surf 50min driving from his place. We had the chance to learn a lot about Indian and Goan culture. Thank you Carlos for your hospitality and good energy. We hope to see you again in Europe.

Naomi and Charly were above average in everything they did while here. They were very pleasant to have around and both extremely competent and committed. They cleaned up before departing and were thoughtful and considerate in every way. These two compassionate people deserve each other. It would be a pleasure to have them return at any time. We miss them already. And wish them well on their travels.

Oh my gosh, Bernadette & Verena were absolutely wonderful volunteers. They fit right in, had a great work ethic, never complained (even about the dirty jobs!), learned quickly, and were really reliable. They were so good that we were able to leave them in sole charge of our animal sanctuary while we went away for a week. And in fact, we've even asked them to come back again! I highly recommend them .

My stay with Laura, Felipe and the kids was amazing. They were very welcoming and let me be a part of everything that was going on of activities. I felt like a part of their family even though I was only there for two weeks - that says a lot. The kids were so open and amazing but also learnt me a lot about setting boundaries. I loved all the family-style barbecues we had and I will definetly miss the laid-back, event though tough, boat-community lifestyle. All in all a very giving experience;)

Lucy being our first Aussie volunteer, and hosting her was truly a joy. We felt very lucky to have her. She is a very warm, positive, and energetic person. She communicated wonderfully both with us and the other volunteers, bringing a beautiful energy to the whole place. She carried out gardening, housekeeping, and all assigned tasks with great responsibility and care. Thanks to her hardworking and helpful nature, she quickly became an important part of the team. We were genuinely sad to see her leave. We were very happy to have her with us, and our door is always open if she ever wants to come back. Thank you for everything, Lucy 🌿

We couldn't have wished for a better start of the new WorkAway season. Sophie was a great match for us as a family - she fitted in perfectly from the first moment on. And for the jobs we needed help with. She helped us transform the land... With joy she cleared big patches of brambles. Taking them by the root. To dig 60 holes afterwards for planting fruittrees. To then put protective fencing around. And she picked up the skill of woodworking with ease. This resulting in doors for our greenhouse. Our household Sophie understood easily. Which was great. We enjoyed some wellprepared dishes and cakes. Cleaning up resulting in deep conversations. Give her a guitar and Sophie will light up the space with her beautifull voice. Long story short. If Sophie knocks on your door. Don't even think twice. You'll be finding a gifted, lighthearted, involved and motivated team-/ familymember. Thanks Sophie. Enjoy your journey
