    Description

We are Helena and Steven, we live with our son Esben (5) in the green forests if the Belgian Ardennes. We are renovating 2 houses to serve as a cohousing. We also have a forest, goats for milk an a pick-your-own- berry garden that operates as a non-profit association. We are friendly, hard working but fun loving.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are a typical Belgian family. Helpers could learn from our cultural ways. You could learn about construction and all things technical from Steven, who is a professional teacher in this field. You can learn about permaculture design in practice from Helena.

We could inspire you how to create your own project.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for helpers who like to work in the renovation of the house. For example move and sand wooden boards we cut from trees in the forest. You can help with physical work too moving rocks with the wheelbarrow. More skilled work is welcome too: we are installing solar panels, ventilation, bathrooms.

We'd like to build a small goat shed from wood and a slate roof, which could be a personal project of a helper. You can help pour the foundation, do the woodwork and roof carpentry.

On the other side we could use help gardening: milking and feeding the goats, making cheese, weeding, planting, harvesting seeds, picking berries or just help around the house: cleaning and cooking, playing with Esben.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

    - You can enjoy many forest activities: walking, canoeing, mountainbiking.
    - There is a small shop and 3 bars in our little town but we are surrounded by vast woods. Busses come only 2 times a day.
    - There are old castle ruins and other old architecture to explore.
    - There are idyllic French sandstone villages nearby.

We like workers to be responsable and not afraid of getting their hands dirty. We like to exchange and teach things to helpers but not be like mum and dad helping you to get up in the morning.
