I had an amazing time at the little farm. Yeldos and Gulnar were such warm-hearted and welcoming people and I'm so grateful that I got to meet both of them. We had really interesting conversations and always a lot of tea and good food and they shared a lot about their culture and perspectives. I got to meet some of their friends and family, which was amazing. I even learned some Russian and Kazakh words. The work hardly felt like work at all, just because I had such a good time whilst doing it. The nature and surroundings are stunning and I will definitely come back some other time to visit them and to explore more of the mountain area and lakes. Thanks for everything and all the best to you!

Having Valentina with us for 10 days was so good. She immediately understood what was important for us and completed her tasks fantastically! She had a good eye for details and our home was always tidy and clean thanks to her ! She had a calm attitude ( even the multiple times she would have just missed the bus 😂😂) and that makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. Another great experience for us ! All the best Vale !

Ava was an absolute ray of sunshine in the community here. She brought such a caring, uplifting energy and was always looking out for the people around her. She was up for anything and really threw herself into the experience, from challenging herself in the kitchen and creating beautiful meals for our communal dinners, to hosting lovely stretching and journaling workshops. She also added so much to the space creatively, especially with her amazing sign writing and artwork. Ava really cared deeply about both the space and the community, and it showed in everything she did. She also fully embraced the experience (especially the ecstatic dance!), which made her such a joy to have around. We can't wait to welcome her back and see her here again someday :D!

Veronika was such a special part of the community here. She was always up for anything, whether it was construction, art, or whatever else needed doing. She wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and really pushed herself out of her comfort zone. She made some great contributions to the space, like creating a cutlery drawer divider, big leaves installation and helping improve different areas around the space (plus surviving being our “compost victim” 😄). She also brought so much energy in other ways, hosting morning workout sessions and being an amazing part of the school project and arranging volleyball evenings. On top of all that, she’s a really sweet and caring person who constantly lifted others up and made people feel seen and appreciated. We’re super grateful to have had her here and would happily welcome her back with open arms anytime :D

Lale was honestly such a magical part of the community here. She brought such a warm, loving, and fun energy that really lifted the whole space. She’s super creative and built a beautiful wooden archway for the entrance to our workshop area. More than that, she was just a joy to have around. Always smiling, positive, and bringing good vibes wherever she went. We’re really grateful she came, and she always has a home away from home here now. Definitely recommend her to any host looking for someone who brings great energy and creativity into a place!

Steffi and Hōri are truly some of the kindest, most generous people I've ever met. From the first moment I arrived they made me feel so welcomed and at ease, which I really appreciated as it was my first time on a workaway. The 2 weeks I stayed flew by, and I found myself wishing I could've stayed longer! Their boys were so sweet and I adored them both immediately. The whole family has such an inspiring, positive outlook on life and I feel very honoured to have been apart of it. I learnt so many new things whilst working in the garden, as Steffi (and Matai-Nuku!) pointed out various new plants to me and showed me how to identify them. I found the work so therapeutic and rewarding, from clearing the orchards to weeding the vegetable beds. My favourite thing though was when I was watching the boys and we'd go on walks, play in the sandpit or explore the beautiful garden. The accommodation they provide is perfect - a cute wooden cabin that's separate from the main house and includes a bedroom, kitchen, shower and compost toilet. It's so cozy and peaceful and gets lovely sun in the mornings. They grow an incredible amount of fruits and vegetables and I was able to help myself in order to cook my dinners. Breakfast and lunch was had with the family and every meal was delicious and fresh. My dietary requirements were also very graciously catered for, which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend staying with Steffi and Hōri - I will never forget my time there and they have genuinely solidified to me what is important to value in life. They are a real inspiration ☺️

My 1 month stay at Shannon's farm was amazing. Shannon is a lovely person and Jeff made the best pizza. The work was walking with the dogs and feeding the horses and chicken. It was simple and I had enough free time to do whatever I wanted to do. I really enjoyed my stay at her farm even I could't do to much because the properties around the house are all privat. But I had the chance to visit some lakes around the house and 100 Mile House. I totally recommend Shannon's farm and the dogs and the horses are the best. I had so much fun and I laugh a lot. I would love to go back anytime. Thank you for the time! <3

Mariella lived and worked with us for three weeks. In early March, when the snow fell, the temperature dropped to minus 15 degrees, for almost two weeks there was no sun. Then the snow began to melt and everywhere was dirt. Despite all the climatic difficulties, she endured them. After all, despite the snow and frost, rain and dirt she had to work on the farm. She is very punctual, values time. But at the same time knows how to work with those who are always late))). Performs the assigned work carefully and on time. At the same time, she gets up early to feed chickens and goats. She goes to bed late because she teaches her classes online. I sometimes wonder when she’s sleeping!? She is only 20 years old, but she has a lot of wisdom and life experience. Therefore it is easy to communicate with her and she has something to learn. Thanks to her (and Thea) Gulnara and I were able to go rest for a day and a half. It was very important event for my family. We called Mariella "the chicken Master" because she taught two other girls how to tend chickens. Thank you Mariella for leaving a mark in our hearts. We look forward to seeing you again. Yeldos, Gulnara, Raya

Just say "yes" if Anita asks to stay. Anita was a joy to have staying with us and a great introduction to Workaway for us. Anita worked hard in the garden and was thorough in everything she did. She helped out in the kitchen and often checked if she do other things to help out. On top of being a great worker, Anita is just really good company - friendly, chatty and easy to be around. We loved hearing stories from her 6years of travelling / adventures, and she was eager to know more about our region. Anita stayed with us for 5 nights and we were sorry that she couldn't stay longer. We'd recommend her to any host without hesitation - you'd be lucky to have her! We hope to see her in Spain or Italy or back in Australia one day.

My travels are about extending family wherever I go and during my time with this delightful family , that was achieved. My absolute favorite thing about my experience is we enjoyed deeply the healing of laughter. We began as strangers and parted as friends . Thank you for having me for sharing this time and beautiful experience with me. 🤍

Really an ideal introduction to Colombia. I learned a great deal about the country and had many a wonderful evening with Nefty and Brenda, especially enjoying Nefty's sense of humor. They were generous and thoughtful, allowing me a great deal of autonomy and trusting that I could find something to do if they were busy doing something else (you can always find vines to pull). Micromanagers they were not. This situation is inherently strange, coming to a stranger's house, yourself a stranger to them. Which makes it all the more gratifying when you couldn’t feel less like a stranger almost immediately. As hosts and people, they are what you look for as ambassadors to a new place and people in general. You can't always get so lucky when you take a leap into the unknown, but that's the beauty of taking a risk. Sometimes, many times, taking a risk goes horribly wrong and all you get is a good story. And sometimes taking a chance goes much better than you expected. What's better than that?

I have had the pleasure of helping Kirsten look after her property on several occasions. Swan Cove is a small piece of heaven owned by an angel! The jobs around the beautiful house and garden are interesting and varied. Kirsten is the most wonderful and inspirational host you could ever meet. Her bubbly and compassionate personality, along with her knowledge of gardening, the unique local environment, food and personal health and wellbeing provided me with memories that will last forever. I thoroughly recommend a workaway with Kirsten at Swan Cove.

It was a very great time with all of people of the community. We learned a lot with them, in construction, to make a natural pigment, astronomic tour with Caito, lesson of bee-keeping with Manolo and in the community way of life. They shared with us lots of meals, (very good !), nice moments in the river, camp fire with burgers, and music in live with beautiful voices and sings (mention special for Waldo with "el perro pes" the hit of the community. Thank you to everyone ! The place is very beautiful, in the forest with a beautiful river to swim. It's very quiet and calm to enjoy the nature (trekking, bike, rafting...).
