Blair and Samuel are a really delightful couple. They have what every host Iongs for: the "can do" attitude. Always cheerful and ready to help, we thoroughly enjoyed their company and I, especially, enjoyed "hanging out" with Blair, and sharing the shopping and cooking. She made a great surrogate daughter! We wish you so much love and luck for your future together. Keep in touch lovelies! ❤️

I had a very fulfilling stay at Raisa's and her family. These 2 weeks were perfect to discover the Finnish culture, as Raisa and Mikko (her husband) made everything for me to feel good, to try the local food, sport, activities and to meet their friends. I casually helped with the daily chores such as cleaning and cooking, without any kind of pressure from the hosts. I also discovered the farm work with cows as I helped once in the barn from Raisa's dad. Their 6 kids are gentle, energetic and funny. Since I'm a man, they were shy in the beginning. But it was definitely a nice way of interacting with children, playing with them, and trying to understand them. I stayed in a big comfortable room where I could stay whenever I wanted to have some time for myself. Finally, I explored the beautiful surroundings and did some ski.

Sofia is a lovely lady who was flexible in the tasks she did and willing to help. She was friendly and worked well within the team. She loved the animals and was sorry she had to leave when she did. She shared a large caravan with another volunteer and it was left nicely clean and tidy. Sofia would be welcome back here any time.

Ellie was an absolute joy to host through Workaway. From the moment she arrived, she brought such a positive, calm energy that made everything feel easy and enjoyable. She’s incredibly kind, thoughtful, and genuinely easygoing — the kind of person who fits in effortlessly and makes a place feel lighter. On top of that, Ellie is highly capable and organized. She approached every task with care and professionalism, and it was clear she’s very qualified in what she does. We never had to worry — she was reliable, proactive, and always willing to help wherever needed. Beyond the work, she was just lovely to have around. Great company, respectful, and brought a really warm presence into our home. We’d welcome Ellie back anytime without hesitation and highly recommend her to any future hosts!

I stayed with Caroline and Paul for a bit more than a week and had a wonderful time. They are incredibly kind and made me feel like part of the family from day one. The work was very manageable – mostly light housework – and they always made sure I didn’t do too much. What I enjoyed most was using their kayak and e-bike to explore the surrounding islands. They also introduced me to the lovely Karragarra community, and I even joined Paul’s ukulele lesson, which was great fun. All in all, I can 100% recommend staying with Caroline and Paul. I’m so grateful for this amazing time on such a beautiful little island that not many travellers get to see.

A Month with Daniel ! When I first reached out to Daniel, he had no work to offer me. We agreed to share food expenses, and that is how I ended up in his home near Pueblo Pardo. I spent a wonderful time there, surrounded by fruit trees of every kind, where one simply has to stand on tiptoe to enjoy their bounty. What truly makes this experience worthwhile, however, is Daniel himself. An artist at heart, he delights in sharing his passions. He introduced me to sculpture, guiding me in creating a 30-centimeter 3D dragon, and also gave me insight into his work in video animation, a world of its own. He is talkative, full of remarkable stories, from neighborly feuds to the ginger trade and improbable encounters. Cultivated and curious, he enjoys debate and welcomes new perspectives, though certain topics, such as religion, can easily stretch into hours. At times, he may seem a little categorical or disorganized, yet he remains generous, appreciative, and always ready to involve you in projects or introduce you to local food and traditions :) In short, a genuinely interesting person, perceptive, tenacious, and gentle, except perhaps when it comes to Trump. Go meet him. Practical information: Very good Wi-Fi. The house is simple, so being resourceful helps. Be prepared for river baths if needed and for living with insects (cockroaches, mosquitoes, gnats). Bringing a tent or hammock with a mosquito net is recommended for some privacy. He lives with his elderly mother, discreet but warm, who enjoys sharing meals and conversation if your Spanish allows it. A rewarding volunteering experience, highly recommended for the curious, aspiring artists, and lovers of outdoor living. Many thanks again, Daniel ! Jo

My time volunteering with Daniela and Fernando was wonderful. I spent 3.5 weeks volunteering at The Better Together Hub that they operate in Phu Quoc. I primarily spent my time helping to run the program they call The Burrow. It’s a day camp program that runs for 4 hours in the morning. I worked to care for, teach and engage the kids in the different activities and games outlined by an itinerary provided to me. It was a lot of fun playing with the kids. I volunteered for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week and in exchange I received a motorbike for my stay, breakfast and a shared room. The room they provided was about a 10 minute walk to the beach and the resort has its own pool. Daniela and Fernando are very sweet people and were wonderful hosts. I had an amazing experience and would definitely recommend volunteering with them.

My week with Cheryl was reallyyyy great, I’m so happy to have met her. She’s really nice person with you can exchange about lot of topics, always ready to help when you need. We were extremely satisfied with Srishti. She wonderfully enriched our cooking with Indian influences, inspired us, and helped us reflect on our routines. Despite her own projects, she was very dedicated, great with the kids, and we really appreciated her positive attitude.Highly recommended!

It was really awesome. I loved the cat and it was a relaxed working atmosphere. The beach is right in front the door so for beginners it is really awesome to learn. The room I only shared with one other volunteer (who was really nice). I really did enjoy it there and Hanli had really good advice and was always very friendly. Hope to come back as an intermediate one day :) thank you Lisa

We are very happy Riyo could stay with us. The two weeksran away very quickly. Shewas absolutly perfect with both of our girls. The girls loved her. I even could let Riyo watch the girls and leave our house for a bit. It was such a big help. She has perfect English so we were happy to have language exchange too!!!She read fairy tales to our girls and talkem with them a lot. We really appreciate it so much. She was always very decent and patient. She helped me with cooking and some housework. In fact, she did all the tasks better than I could :-) She also managed the garden help without any problems. She had cleaned the appartment (where she stayed) perfectly before she left. We really appreciate it!!! Thank you ;-) Last but not least, our family went through some difficulties during Riyo's stay and she was so nice and emphatic. She is really a wonderful person!

Staying with Beatrice and Eric was a delightful experience in so many ways. They have such a welcoming atmosphere and beautiful home, I felt immediately happy to be there. Seriously a beautiful home. We had a whole apartment to ourselves which was amazing and the balance between work/social/down time was ideal. This was the perfect opportunity to see a real, rural Corsican village and lifestyle. The views are beautiful from the small village they live in and it’s nice to take walks around the area to visit other little villages. Quite isolated though. Wow the food was incredible! Bèatrice is a phenomenal cook who only makes super healthy meals with the best of ingredients so it was genuinely delicious every day. The work was satisfying as we had a big weeding project we were able to oversee and complete and after that we were working with Bèatrice and Eric every day with a variety of things. It was really sweet they were always concerned we’d get too bored and tried to switch it up for us. Overall, it was a truly wonderful workaway and a perfect, quiet place to relax. I cannot thank you both enough for everything!

We stayed 3 weeks at Béatrice et Eric place with my partner, and I highly recommend it ! They were always available when needed, and the meals were really healthy and delicious. The work was mainly weeding, taking care of the cat, and helping maintaining some part of the house. We shared inspiring conversations and joyful moments, they are really kind and caring, and made us feel instantly at home. I really enjoyed hearing Beatrice travel stories and Eric knowledge on quest for happiness😊 The place we stayed in is independent and fully equipped, which gave us privacy and a beautiful view on the valley : It is perfect if you want to stay in a quiet isolated village surrounded by nature. It was a pleasure getting to know them and help them around the house, would definitely keep a good memory of the experience! Merci à vous deux🤗

While checking our Workaway profile to get ready for the coming Workaway season, I realized I hadn’t left feedback for Casey and Sam, which is a shame. They are an incredible team and they are afraid of nothing. If there is something to learn, they do it, and once they’ve learned it, they do it very well. We would have hosted them for the entire summer, ah ah. In our long experience hosting volunteers, we have found that the best Workawayers are travelers, meaning people — whether alone or as a couple — who commit to long journeys. They are open-minded, eager to learn, and willing to share their experience. Casey and Sam are exactly that kind of people. We hope to meet you guys again one day.

August joined us for one month and left a lasting impression on both the farm and its people. She arrived with a solid foundation of practical farm experience, which allowed her to integrate quickly into daily work without needing much guidance. Beyond technical competence, what stood out most was her way of thinking with the farm: she observes closely, notices patterns, and adapts her actions in response to what the system is actually doing, rather than what one might expect it to do. Her attention to detail is remarkable. Whether it was soil conditions, plant health, or the dynamics of the design, August consistently demonstrated a rare capacity for careful observation paired with thoughtful interpretation. This made her contributions not only efficient, but also meaningful in a broader ecological sense. August is also a genuinely delightful presence in a collective setting. She connected especially well with the kids, bringing a mix of warmth, playfulness and attentiveness that made interactions feel both natural and enriching. She is highly motivated and takes initiative with clarity and responsibility. At the same time, she communicates openly and sets clear boundaries, which contributes to a very balanced and reliable collaboration. This combination of autonomy and transparency is something we deeply value in shared living and working environments. In short, August brings together practical skill, ecological intelligence, and strong relational qualities. She would be an asset to any project rooted in land-based work, collective processes, or educational environments. We would gladly welcome her back and hope her next chapters are awesome!

I got to spent 5 weeks with the association and it was truly incredible! Despite it being winter, I’ve met so many lovely people here and felt so much warmth. I’ve learnt so much about craftsmanship (I was able to take part in two work camps) and, in the process, learnt more about myself and other people. If you can, come and take part in this magical place 💫! Gros bisous ❤️

Milan stayed with us for a short period and helped with gardening and some maintenance tasks on the land. As discussed before his arrival, he spent part of the time working independently on these activities. During the stay, we sometimes felt that expectations regarding initiative and focus were not always fully aligned with what is typically needed for this type of project. Communication could also have been clearer at times—for example, he asked after arrival if his girlfriend could stay for a night, which had not been discussed beforehand. After his departure, we discovered that a granite countertop had been damaged during the stay. Milan apologized when we informed him, but we had not been made aware of the issue beforehand. We are sharing this feedback to provide an accurate account of our experience and wish Milan all the best in his future travels.

I just realized that I didn't leave a feedback for Zoe and this is a shame because she deserves it. Zoe is a wonderful person and we were very sorry to host her ONLY for two weeks. Due to a last minute cancellation she found herself here alone but after all she adapted and she integrated in our daily life. For few days she asked the permission to invite a friend she knew traveling, friend who was as good as her, meaning Zoe chooses wisely her companionship. Zoe is the kind of person who makes you want to meet her parents; she’s polite, respectful, intelligent, and proactive, so she must have been raised in a very positive environment. Zoe please come back if you are going to pass nearby and I hope that this review, even though came late, can be useful for your future adventures.
