We are truly grateful to Emma for all her help and dedication throughout the project. She consistently gave her very best in every situation. At home, she was extremely helpful, always eager to keep the space cleaned and organized, and she positively encouraged the other volunteers to do the same. With the neighbors, she was kind, respectful, and a great listener, building warm and meaningful connections. Outside the house, she showed great willingness and enthusiasm in every activity. At the institute, she was considered one of the best teachers by the students. She prepared her classes thoroughly and delivered high-quality lessons. She taught B2 level preparation and handled this responsibility with great professionalism. Emma was always responsible with the duties assigned to her, and she consistently showed initiative by offering to take on additional groups and provide extra support whenever needed. She definitely added meaningful value to the project, and the local community appreciated and loved her very much. If she is interested in joining your project, we highly recommend accepting her without hesitation. We are completely confident that she will give her very best, as she consistently demonstrates responsibility, dedication, and genuine care in everything she does. She will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to your team and community. thank youuuu so much, hope to see each other (Hoping in Germany soon).

I stayed two weeks with Dora, Benjamin, Thiago and Kai in Tananger, Norway, and it was a truly beautiful experience. From the beginning, Dora made me feel calm, welcomed and part of the family. She is incredibly caring and open-hearted. I also enjoyed spending time with the twins — playing games, football, trampoline, hide and seek, cooking games and more. It made my inner child very happy and I felt so light in mind because of them. Spending time with Benjamin was also great. I personally see him as a bit of a nerd (in a good way). We played Roblox, tried VR and he became my first ice-skating teacher. Beyond daily life, our conversations about spirituality, shamanism, plant medicine and music journeys were meaningful and eye-opening. She introduced me to amazing hikes like Dalsnuten and even took me to sauna followed by a cold fjord swim — one of the most magical experiences of my life. Her travel stories, especially about Cuba, were very inspiring. I will definitely miss her delicious tacos, pizza, pasta, fiskeboller and rice pudding pastry! I truly felt at home in Tananger and feel grateful to have been part of this family. I strongly recommend them to future Workawayers.

A fantastic opportunity to be involved in a local project that aims to make language learning accessible for all in a beautiful town in Southern Colombia that has plenty to offer. Popayán is a lovely historic "white" city and to be able to walk everywhere in the centre, where we were accommodated, was a great pleasure. The locals that came in for the language practice were from all walks and stages of life. It felt rewarding to be able to impart a little knowledge and share some fascinating conversations with the community. Miguel, Alfredo and everyone working at the cafe, including the teachers, are all nice and welcoming, and are happy to assist with whatever you may need during your stay. Thanks for the Spanish classes Miguel, and to the baristas and Ms. Mary for the delicious food and drinks! There is always something to do or a class to attend to at this place, so you'll easily fall into a nice routine, which we enjoyed after some sporadic travelling. Apart from assisting with the language classes, we also helped with marketing, content creation, painting the walls, and some light gardening. We can't recommend this opportunity enough and we wish everyone here all the best!

Nelleke and Bert stayed with us for a week and it was a very good experience. They are a very nice, open minded couple and it was a pleasure to host them. They were proactive and worked really hard with me in the garden and around the house, and were a great help. They are discreet, friendly and interesting people and Bert is really good at fixing stuff! Thank you Bert and Nelleke!

Ruthi and Matt stayed with us for 2 weeks in February. They were well organized. And although the weather wasn't good, they worked every day outside. They tidied up our big garden from winter status and loaded the trailer several times with all the branches and leaves. (And they had luck: the last days here spring was arriving!)

Collin was a great addition to our team! He was proactive, responsible, and always willing to lend a hand. He brought a really positive energy, was cheerful, and connected very well with both the staff and our guests. He completed all assigned tasks in reception and the bar with commitment and a great attitude.

I spent the whole month of January at Faren and Arianna's and I had 4 great weeks. The house, the village and the whole area around are just wonferful. As Workawayers, the day would start with taking care of the chickens and the ducks. Then, if the whether was good, we were meeting with Arianna around 10h30-11h to go and work in the field (sometimes with Quinto, the donkey :). I was there at the time of prunning, so the work was mainly about collecting the olive trees branches, choping it if necessary and burning it or leaving it on site so Arianna could come later to shred it to fertilize the land. These days, we had to prepare and pack our lunch to eat in the field. We were usually going back home around 15h30-16h and would meet again for a delicious and healthy dinner that we were sharing at their place. Workawayers are also in charge of "closing" the chickens and the ducks before the night. We had some days with bad wether (snow actually!) and Faren and Arianna found some tasks to do inside, like building shelves and putting in order the lab, labelling honey jars, shelling beans, harvesing propolis, etc. We also went twice to Faren's studio to help her with its renovation. We were working during the weekdays and had the weekend free. Since we are in the countryside, Arianna was kind enough to drive us and come to pick us up at Montevarchi's train station so we can go on a daytrip (the beautiful city of Arezzo in my case). Workawayers are staying in a separate apartment (which is very nice and comfortable, with an amazing view), so we were quite independent from Faren and Arianna, but they were always available in case we needed anything. We were also usually quite autonomous with the tasks we had to do, and all in all this way of working suited me very well. We also had the chance to enjoy Faren's cooking talents (and lucky us, she likes baking!), we played cards and enjoyed an "apericena" at the place where Arianna works. Las but not least, I shared my time there with two other volunteers and had a great time with them. Faren and Arianna are very chill and very easy to communicate with. They live in an amazing place, run an amazing project, and I can only whish them the best for the future.

If you want a host who is honest and fair, patient and understanding, knowledgeable and a laugh, Miki is the one for you. As the profile says, living in luxury without luxury is really true. Waking up to the sound of birds, watching the beautiful sunrise over the mountains, so many stars! Just be prepared you don’t have any fancy room ect, at least not yet. You don’t need experience in anything, Miki is more than happy to teach and share her knowledge, as long as you are willing to learn.

Kauai was not just a place — it was a whole chapter of life for me. This island is unbelievably beautiful, powerful, and peaceful at the same time. I’m truly grateful to Aza, Tayler, Grandpaw, and every single person from the crew. Thank you for your energy, your patience, your humor, and the way you welcomed me. The experience was amazing. I learned, I worked, I laughed, I grew. It was living fully in the moment, surrounded by good people in a special place. Big thank you to all of you. Kauai will always stay with me 🖤

Andrew stayed with us for about a month, arriving in mid-December and spending the holidays here over Christmas. During that time, he really became part of the family, connecting easily with everyone, including my parents, and bringing a great sense of humor and lightness to the space. He’s a genuinely kind and authentic person, very easy to be around, and consistently showed up with a positive attitude. No matter the task, he was always willing to jump in and help, even in the middle of winter conditions. He handled outdoor work without hesitation and showed solid construction skills when needed. Andrew has a gentle, grounded presence and a natural way of contributing to both the work and the community atmosphere. He was a pleasure to host, and I’d gladly welcome him back anytime.

Volunteering here was such a dream! We were made to feel so at home and we miss them already. We enjoyed the range of work; lots of satisfying manual labour like rebuilding an outdoor staircase, restructuring the garden, creating a new path through the forest, and also looking after all the crazy chickens. Sonia is fantastic and would work right alongside us, it was so nice to work with her, Leo, and Micaela during our 2 weeks. The working is semi-flexible from breakfast at 8ish until lunch at 2ish. In the afternoon you are free to do whatever you want; it is a bit of a walk back to town but we found plenty to entertain ourselves with and relax at the finca. We were fed super well and had our own space in the house which was really appreciated. Friend and employee of the family Leo kindly took us cascading which was such a highlight. We would recommend you have some Spanish to get the best experience. Sonia and Edgar's grandson Jerry was very kind, a great backgammon buddy, and taught us lots of new words (riqueísimo!!). We had a lot of fun playing rummy and other card games with the family. It was also a joy to meet so much of Sonia and Edgar’s family - their younger granddaughters often came to stay, who were all sweet hearts. The two dogs are super cute and respond very well to all the positive attention. We would love to visit again soon!

Catherine

Georg managed to help fix some long term problems that we had mechanically. It was great to get my car back on the road after a year. Thanks Georg. Georg was very easy to cater for. He respected our privacy and fitted in well when we socialized together.

Sorry to have taken so long to give feedback. Shogo was a delight to have working with us, willing to learn, interested in everything, and always did his best. He was good company and engaged in good conversation. I would thoroughly recommend him for his next workaway adventure.

When I arrived in Turkey, I didn’t know the language or anything about the country. I’m so grateful that I got to stay with Nuri. He showed me around his city and introduced me to his friends and family. He taught me a lot about gardening and planting, and he even taught me my first Turkish words. Nuri is calm, gentle, kind, and funny. He also cooks the most delicious meals—every meal I had with him could easily be served in a restaurant. Thank you, Nuri Abi, for sharing your life with me. I’m really looking forward to seeing you again! All the best, Jan

I had a great time with Andrew, as the weather was not so inviting for outdoor activities we spend most of the time in the house working out the last apples and walnuts and thanks to his great mind and knowledge about philosophy we never run out of topics to talk about. He knows lots of fun games but will probably not take the initiative as he is more introverted . But as soon you suggest something he is on board and willing to step out of his comfort zone. The few days we could do some work he helped chopping wood and pruning the raspberries. Thanks for your help and sharing your knowledge, I wish you many adventures on your travels and hope to meet again!!
