Wonderful experience with this energetic amazing family. From the word go they just fitted into our busy family. While the kids were not expected to work they have the same work ethic as their can do parents. Keisuke and Kurimi just go so much work done for us. Painting, gardening, landscaping just to name a little in the one month we hosted. We would of loved to have had longer as our kids just got on so well together and it was sad breaking the fellowship!!! Our Cottage was well looked after and was left cleaner than before. Really highly recommended and we have nothing negative to say at all..Thank you so much for helping us and been a part of our family and farm!!!

Phie stayed with us for just over a week and was a lovely addition to the household. She was great fun to be with, was kind and inclusive with other visitors and was helpful around the kitchen always willing to help out with food preparation and other chores. She had lots of energy and enthusiasm for both her Workaway chores and also making good use of her time to explore the local area. Phie was happy to try new things and although she had no previous experience of bees was a great help with my honey harvest and the honey extraction process. She was also flexible with her hours worked doing some longer days ( with shorter hours to compensate on other days) to ensure that we visited all the hives to collect the honey. She also cooked us a delicious soup with lots of lovely extras. We really enjoyed Phie’s company, highly recommend her and she is welcome back anytime.

I had such a wonderful experience volunteering with this lovely, caring couple Susie & Peter. From the moment they picked me up from the bus station, I felt genuinely welcomed and looked after. They even brought me to see Cradle Mountain on my first day, which was such a special experience and something I will always remember. Susie & Peter were incredibly generous and thoughtful throughout my stay. They cooked delicious home-made meals and prepared beautiful picnics for our daily adventures, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable and personal. The volunteering work involved creating a lavender bed and a flower bed, as well as tidying up outdoor spaces. The tasks were clear and rewarding, and it was very satisfying to see the transformation as the work progressed. They were excellent communicators — always clear, encouraging, and appreciative. They showed genuine gratitude for my commitment to completing the tasks, which made the experience even more fulfilling. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to stay in Tasmania with Susie & Peter. Everyday was different and every day a new spectacular eperience in the wonderful countryside of Tasmania. They are warm, kind, and generous hosts, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable volunteering experience.

It’s been two days since my adventure came to an end. It was an exceptional journey, shared with truly exceptional people. I leave with friendships I know will last, a deeper understanding of elephants, of Asia, and of communities I hadn’t even known existed. My world feels a little bigger now - and I’m heading to my next stop with stars in my eyes. My main role was as a guide. At first, it felt a little intimidating, but it quickly became one of the most rewarding parts of the experience. I’m grateful for everything I learned, and proud to have contributed to the foundation’s mission - sharing knowledge, raising awareness, and sometimes even helping shift perspectives. The management team and coordinators were incredible (a heartfelt thank you to Helena and Valentine). I was also involved in the fundraising campaign, which is such an important and meaningful project for the sanctuary’s future. I recommend this Workaway wholeheartedly. The foundation truly needs support - and so do Kham Phaeng, Khun, Malee, and Boon Mee. I hope I’ll have the chance to visit the new land in the near future, and I wish the sanctuary nothing but the very best in this new chapter. Thank you for your trust, Agnes and Manouk. <3

We had the most wonderful time with Maxence & Jeanne. They tackled all tasks with great enthusiasm and Jeanne took to battery operated tools like the whipper snipper like a professional! Great conversations, clean and tidy and a joy to host. We would welcome them back any time without hesitation. Thank you both for all your extra hard work :)

Dana stayed on our farm for over two months and during her time with us, she was very kind and helpful. She jumped in to participate and help with any projects on the go and also worked very well on her own with tasks and could be trusted to follow instructions well . She was fun and interesting as a person and really enjoyed free time to pursue teaching herself new things. She discovered that she is a natural born knitter and crocheter while with us. Producing a beautiful garment in only a few weeks of practice! She has been invited back to the farm for the summer and would always be welcome. I can strongly recommend her as a Workaway Guest . Thank you Dana for all your hard work and kindness!

Thank you so much, Isabella, Morgan, and the dogs for the wonderful two weeks! I truly had a great time staying with you. I really enjoyed building a drainage channel and a retaining wall at Isabella’s place. Isabella made sure all the right tools and materials were available, which made the work smooth, enjoyable, and very satisfying to do. It’s always a pleasure to work in such well-organized conditions. The food at Isabella’s home was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed every single meal — so many tasty dishes made with natural, fresh products. It was such a treat every day! We also made some lovely trips around the area with Isabella’s wonderful friends, which made the experience even more special and fun. From me, Isabella gets 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hosting Lydia was a joyous time. She is happy energetic positive and funny. Her cooking is so fantastic she could own her own restaurant. Perhaps someday she will! Seeing Lydia’s spiritual work ethic in action was courageous and inspirational. Lydia took initiative and did what was needed while I was at work. She cleaned without me ever having to ask. She had a new delicious meal waiting everyday. She found some new plants and a desk for the house. Lots of little things that added up. Totally effortless from a hosts perspective. She can read social cues well and communicated very effectively which made her very easy to live with. Was very fun hosting Lydia I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing chef and an all around great person to live with.

Sandra was great. She helped us out in Housekeeping in the mornings before heading to her second job in the afternoons. She was super busy saving for her travels. Sandra can appear quiet and shy but once you get to know her - she is friendly and chatty with a great sense of humour. She is organized, reliable and a tidy person. She is a hard worker. She fitted in with our team of staff so easily. It was only a short stay for a month, and we were all sad to see her go. Thanks Sandra and all the best. PS: Let me know when you are coming back through Taupo and I will arrange some Fish Fingers!!

Sara was a fabulous workawayer! She did so many different tasks, lots of them going at the same time, but they all get finished in a great way. Very thankful for all the great help.

I am so grateful that my first workaway experience was with Jeanette! She made me feel very welcome from the first moment when she picked me up from the train station. Jeanette showed me many cool places in East Gippsland, we went swimming in different beautiful places and she even took me to dinners and parties with her friends, who are all very friendly and lovely people. I really enjoyed all the gardening work I could do: lawn mowing, weeding, watering and gathering wood with lawn tractor, but I had also much free time. I could also use her bike and did some exploring in the neighbourhood via the lovely East Gippsland Rail Trail. Jeanette provided me fresh food from her own veggie garden and all the meals were delicious. The communication with her was really easy-going and clear and we became good friends. The experience exceeded all my expectations. Thank You for all, Jeanette!

I had such a wonderful experience on my first volunteering Workaway experience with Vita. From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind and thoughtful. Vita picked me up from the train station, which immediately made me feel welcome and at ease. Throughout my stay, she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. She kindly drove me to the swimming pool on my day off. She cooked me delicious, home-made meals everyday. Her generosity and warmth created a lovely, supportive environment. The volunteering work mainly involved gardening tasks such as mowing the lawn, weeding, raking leaves, pruning, mulching, and tidying outdoor spaces. The work was well organised and satisfying, and I always felt that my contribution was appreciated. Vita is an excellent communicator — clear, patient, and encouraging. She was also incredibly helpful with my everyday administration for job applications and always willing to offer guidance or support when needed. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to stay and work with Vita. She is a genuinely caring, generous person, and I would highly recommend staying with her to anyone looking for a positive and rewarding volunteering experience.

I loved staying with Caitlyn, Emma, Helen and Daniel in Haberfield! The house is always busy and full of life and the girls are so loving and kind. Spending time with them during their school holidays was lovely, taking the bus to Bondi beach and enjoying yo-chi 😊 (extra bonus if you’re a Swiftie 😉). Daniel and especially Helen are excellent cooks, always making sure you are well taken care off! They communicated very openly before and during my stay. The location of the house is only a bus ride from the city centre and pretty quiet to actually live but close to the Bay run and beautiful parks. The bedroom and bathroom were so comfortable. Jellybean and Peanut, the cats also have a special place in my heart! I was very grateful to be staying here over the summer and going to miss the girls dearly!

I had a wonderful 2 weeks staying with Mike & Yelena. They are both so kind, welcoming, and made me feel really comfortable as soon as I arrived. The work is fair and they are also very encouraging that you relax & make the most of their beautiful property too, and their lovely dogs will always keep you company! It is the perfect place to forget about the outside world for a little while. They are also very generous with lifts to/from the station if you wish to go elsewhere over the weekends. I will very much miss sitting by the lake, checking in on all the animals & chatting with Mike & Yelena over dinner or a drink.

My stay at Dans was fantastic! I was there 3 weeks and would have happily stayed longer. Dan keenly gave me tasks suited to my skills and had me building him a deck as well as climbing trees and splitting wood. He gave me a lot of trust easily, bought me materials and left me to work on my own which i really appreciated. It was great having a project for my time there and working on it as much out of personal interest as for my workaway hours. Being part of home life was great too theyre a lovely family but sometimes chaotic and intense which can be a bit tiring for the introverted. Music nights, board games and homemade desserts are a common feature, you will be well fed and well entertained! Id highly recommend a stay at Dans and especially if you have special skills you will be put to great use! Thanks Dan and family for a great time!
