    Description

    We are a small, family friendly Motel, located in Taupo, NZ.
    Our Motel offers 10 rooms with Kitchen facilities.
    We have a Summer Swimming Pool, Spa Pool, Games Room, Guest Laundry. These facilities are all available to Staff when guests are not using them.
    We have a small team of two other backpackers and permanent staff.
    Taupo is the central hub of the North Island. We have a beautiful Lake that is only two minutes walk from us.
    The town, is only 10mins walk.
    Taupo is a great place to enjoy the outdoors:
    Hiking, Mountain Biking, Swimming, SUP, Kayaking, Water-Skiing, Wakeboarding.
    National Park with three Mountains is only 90mins drive - walk the famous Tongariro Crossing.
    We are only three hours from Auckland, two hours to Mount Maunganui (the best beach), one hour to Rotorua and two hours to Napier.

    I am a Kiwi, my husband is Scottish.
    We currently have a German and Swiss backpackers staying.
    We are keen to share meals on a bi-weekly basis and get to know your culture and country.
    We have hosted backpackers for the last two years and have enjoyed learning about their own backgrounds.

    Help

    We are looking for help with:
    Housekeeping - must have a good eye for detail and enjoy cleaning. Reception - if you have a high level of English and a great communicator, bubbly and outgoing there are hours available. Overnight on-call. Be onsite to assist with late arrivals, guests who have locked themselves out, Reservations enquiries. etc. Gardening - weeding, planting, removal. Babysitting - we have two young children - 7yrs & 5yrs. Swimming Pool and Spa Pool - require regular cleaning. Other odd jobs to keep the Motel looking its best. We pay minimum wage.
    As Summer approaches, we are looking for a minimum three month stay.

    We offer a Staff House located onsite at the Motel. It is four Bedrooms, two of which are used for Motel storage.
    For workaways we offer two bedrooms and a shared Bathroom, Kitchen and Lounge.
    Reception is located off the Lounge so when staff are on Reception they will have access to the Kitchen area. We do not live onsite.

    We like to offer at least two days off per week together so you can go and explore the local area.
    The role works well for couples but we will consider singles as well.
