    Description

+++ English description below. Please note that you should speak at least basic Spanish because neither I nor modt people in Palocabildo speak English fluently +++

My home is a coffee farm with the vision of being a place for activities that educate, inspire and empower children, teenagers and women in Palocabildo. It gives space for workshops and projects in different areas, depending on the skills and inspiration of the volunteers - social, educative, ecological, artistic, cultural, sportive, language, agricultural, etc. The idea is to bring some of the world outside of Palocabildo to the little town, since many people there don't get the chance to travel a lot and enjoy getting in touch with people from other countries or other parts of Colombia.

My name is Cecilia, I'm a 66 years old physiotherapist, coffee farmer and community leader passionate about moving and changing things in the little town I call home. I observe that there are not many educative and free time opportunities outside of the schools in Palocabildo - therefore many children and teenagers spend way too much time on their phones - and I want to change this and I want to empower them to follow their dreams and ambitions.
My home is also a refuge for around 20 dogs, most of them used to be stray dogs.
On the farm we sometimes host tourists. Besides that there are almost always people around like Rodrigo, the chief of coffee production, Hilda, who cooks for us and the coffee workers, neighbours and friends who come over.

The climate in the region is very pleasant. During the days 20-25°C and around 15-20°C at night, much sun, sometimes rain.

My idea for the volunteers is, that they host activities on the finca and/or go to the schools of Palocabildo and host classes and activities. Each volunteer has their own set of skills and interests and you're free to share what you like.

The necessary contacts to schools, churches and other groups do already exist and we're happy to work together with you thinking about what possible activities you could do and to organise all the framework.
