The place is very Nice and Lisan and Jan are Very Kind, taking the Time to explain everything and to talk and exchange. The place is calm and it's beautiful around. Best place ever! Turi and Christa are two truly genuine and nice people. The house and surroundings aswell. And do not forget about the wine! Absolutly amazing. In a way, I want to give them the worst review. Because I do not want them to be fully booked. If you went there once, you want to come back! Fingers crossed for the next batch of wine!

I spent two weeks of February in Deia with Joanna and had a wonderful time! The workload was very reasonable, I would start in the morning and work for 5 hours. Then we would usually eat together and I'd have the rest of the day free. Deia is in the North of the island, so there are a lot of mountains and places to hike. I got 2 days off a week and I would typically go hiking for the most of the day, but you could also take the bus around the island. Joanna was great company and was flexible with scheduling. Her ceramics studio is beautiful and it was nice to be in a small town and get to know a lot of the locals. I would definitely recommend working with Joanna for anyone that can!

I am so grateful that I had the honor to work with Lilian at this place. She is such an inspiring lady, while still humble. She made so many positive changes in lives for others. We started chatting a few months ago and exchanged ideas a lot, so I cpuld help her a ltiile in the next step for this place. And besides that we developed an addition to the trainings they already have available. While i Was with Lilian I trained 4 young mums, who from now on also can be the traines for others in the community. Lilian and her colleguage Cecilai are warm and welcoming women, who are helping the women in the community in an open and very effective way. I am so glad to have been a part in that . For coming up volunteers, tell Lilian your skills so she can see if it fits in the longterm program of this place.

Having Joey with us was great! He’s super enthusiastic, always went the extra mile, and made learning really fun for the students. They loved his classes, and the staff truly enjoyed having him as part of the team. Wishing him all the best in his next adventures — hope to see him again soon!

What a wonderful experience. I spent three weeks from feb to march in Quillabamba, and I would definitely recommend. If you like kids, are a bit flexible with the work you do, and have creative interests or speak English, you will find much to do here. Jennifer and the team were very relaxed and efficient at holding everything together, and your skills are made to feel very welcome, making it a lovely place to teach and to assist. I was there during the summer holidays so spent the days in the academy, mainly assisting the creativity (painting, drawing, working with coloured paper and the Minichef cooking days) and helping out with the kids, though I once taught the kids how to draw a person step by step, they are a pleasure to teach- they have a lot of energy and it is sometimes tiring but they listen well and are eager to learn and are very interested in you. I also had a few teenagers who I would teach one - on- one English classes to, which was great practice for my Spanish. The town itself is very nice, lots of green squares and cafés, I went to a different pastelería almost every day, and had some great food in the town for very affordable prices. The people are very curious about foreigners and mostly very friendly and eager to chat about where you're from, which I welcomed as it contributed to the feeling of complete immersion. Overall, great experience, I will miss the kids and the sunny weather!

This was my first Workaway experience. I stayed with this family in Berlin for two months :) The organization of the activities was clear from the very beginning, starting with the initial interview. The working hours did not exceed the required 20/25 per week. Sometimes a bit of extra help may be requested on the weekend, but this is agreed upon in advance! Overall, it was a positive experience. Highly recommended especially for those looking for a well organized environment, clearly defined tasks, and free afternoons and evenings :) It is not an experience focused on cultural exchange, since the family has a busy routine and Nadine is the only one who speaks English fluently, but they are always happy to share dinner together. Tip: Berlin is a city best enjoyed in warm weather and with plenty of daylight, so do not go in winter if you are sensitive to gloomy weather!

Staying with this family felt like being gently adopted by a small, beautiful tribe 🌿✨ From day one, everything was easy: they are warm, supportive, and extremely flexible — you’re given freedom to help in a way that matches your strengths and your energy, without pressure or weird control. Even logistics were easy: they’re helpful with everything, including pick-ups, planning, and adapting to real life 🙏🚗 What is really great is that we spent a lot of time together: all kinds of spontaneous outings to the sauna and pool, to the cities nearby, restaurants, bars. It felt like staying with some friends I’ve somehow known for years 🫂 Some of the events and alternative spaces we went to were things I had never experienced before, and they welcomed me into them so naturally. It allowed my personality to grow in ways I didn’t expect. Their mindset is something special: truly open, truly curious, and genuinely non-judgmental. They have this rare ability to welcome all kinds of personalities and “differences” with deep interest 🧠 As someone with a very philosophical view of life, I felt unexpectedly completely understood — and the depth of our conversations honestly amazed me each single time ⚖️ Most of all, the way they raise their children and live day-to-day is incredibly aligned with nature and with real human needs — respectful, connected, grounded, spiritual in the most down-to-earth way 🌲🔥 Also: such a multicultural, multilingual family — and I love what you’re doing with the kids and languages, now also adding French 🇫🇷😮 someone stop them 😂 the kids are super lucky to grow up in this magical family❤️ I can do nothing but recommend them wholeheartedly 💛✨

I spent one month in Latacunga and had a wonderful time! Vero and Paul were amazing hosts who were so kind and always quick to text and call when something came up. When I first arrived to Latacunga, it was raining and I had just got off a 3 hour bus ride from Quito. Vero picked me up from the bus terminal and took me out to eat a delicious meal. In the apartment, I had my own room which was very comfortable and I had one other roomate. The apartment was super close to the school and local markets. There were also many amazing restaurants with cheap prices especially for almuerzo. The classes I taught were really fun and very straightforward. The students used their workbooks and I was their to either assist the other teachers or run classes and help the students through their books. In addition I really enjoyed listening to the students digital presentations which happened every few days about various topics. The classes mostly run in the afternoons so in the morning I had time to do some work, go to the gym, walk around the town or try new foods (Highly recommend trying HORNADO).

Chiara came to us as a last minute winter helper. Though she may seem shy and quiet, Chiara has a lot of knowledge in various fields, a keen mind and endless curiosity. Chiara gives 120% to anything she does (including paying attention and many cuddles with all kitties), and was very happy to be part of our little winter group. Chiara is totally happy to learn new skills, operate machines and get her hands dirty. As long as there are no ticks involved..... She is clean, responsible, and proactive. We tasted her great cooking and enjoyed her company, great positive attitude and ready smile. BUT we all know that she cared MOST about the cats. She spoiled them rotten (which is part of the deal), and kept looking at them like she wanted to take them back to Italy with her..... Well, she simply has to come back to play with them again!!!! I am sure they will remember her! We are grateful for all her help and great companionship and her worth ethics. We expect her to come back in a different season to see how things have changed, and of course, play with all the cats!!!! Big hugs and prrrrrr from all of us!

Ales is an incredibly skilled carpenter who is dedicated to doing a good job. I am so grateful for the help he provided at my humble home and sanctuary. He liked having regular hours and regular meals, and always made sure the job was done correctly and professionally. While he was here with me a few weeks he helped me paint my house and new apartment. He also fixed the deck which was rotting and helped me understand other things that needed to be taken care of. Grateful for his help!

Janeta is an exceptional person. She adapted perfectly to the family flow and naturally adhered to our general family rules. Janeta brought a wonderful combination of professional experience and a warm, kind spirit. She was a very lovely person with our daughters, and they greatly benefited from her support as a professional teacher. We feel incredibly fortunate to have hosted her for the week. We can only advise other families to jump at the opportunity to count on Janeta if given the chance.

I had the pure pleasure of hosting and getting to know Sanne and Vincent over a few weeks while they came to dedicate their love and pure joy to us, I offered them many tasks and they chose to help revitalize the temple space which has needed some love. We worked together to create a vision for a new space, and then they executed the project pretty much alone. Their dedication to doing incredibly detailed work was very apparent as they poured love into the space. They are incredibly respectful, dedicated hard workers and radiate positive energy as well. Sanne was studying to be a Breathwork facilitator and she did some Breathwork sessions with me as well which were incredibly powerful and I greatly enjoyed. I am so grateful that I was able to host them and get to know them and look forward to hosting them again in the future.

Svenja was an incredible help to us. During her time here which was just a few weeks she was able to help me repaint the bamboo structure, which requires one to climb like a monkey and take care of the newly renovated temple space. Svenja also is an INCREDIBLE business coach which i later found out, and she worked with me to help me develop a business plan for my business and my social media presence. Super grateful for her time she dedicated and I would be happy to welcome her back anytime.

Zoe and Paul have been here for a week, just as spring arrived. They are super helpful and have a keen eye for what needs doing, indoors and outdoors. They are conscientious workers and independent problem solvers. In addition to all that, they are fun, and nice, and make nice music! I fully recommend them!

It has been an extraordinary experience to stay with Elsa and her kids. They treated me very well and included me in their life. I felt really welcome. I spent a wonderful christmas with them. My tasks contained work in and around the house like daily cleaning, ironing, pruning. I finished mostly around noon. I really enjoyed my time there. Highly recommend to any workawayer who wanna get to know authentic Canadian life and also have time to discover Vancouver.

Colin stayed with me for 2 weeks and was a great help! We mostly did work in the garden, planting, weeding, clearing. He also helped with some diy jobs that needed doing. He’s an easy going guy who was willing to give anything a go. A pleasure to be around too :) He also looked after my pets while I had to work which was much appreciated. A great guy who’s always welcome back!

Pia, my wife, stayed 1,5 weeks and I stayed 4 weeks with Dominique and Wim. It was a real pleasure to work with Wim. He gave suitable jobs to both of us and helped and advised in a kind manner when needed. We did different jobs in garden and I participated in some building works in the house they are renovating. Dominique joined us in the evening after her working hours and prepared our delicious dinners. At dinners we had many nice discussions in a friendly atmosphere. The finca is a bit outside of town, but Muchamiel is at half an hour walkng distance and a big supermarket is about 20 mins away. At finca there are not so many activities available besides work (why should there be). So D&W took us to trips and drove us to Alicante to our own trips. I made a week-end trip to Valencia, which is only a couple of hours from Alicante by train. All together, we had great time with kind, friendly people. And dogs! Strong recommendations!
