    Why we are hosting:
In summer 2024 our family (me, my partner and my child) tried workaway as a family for the first time. We had a really fantastic stay in Switzerland, we still regularly remember.
Now that we are back in our everyday life in Berlin, we would love to host a workawayer to also use this opportunity for us to bring some colourful variation into our regular daily routines.

    Our place:
We live in the district with the most families in Berlin. You find a lot of lovely parks around our area, great bike ways that quickly lead you into the rural neighbourhood of Brandenburg, lovely cafés and restaurants and a superb connection to public transport that takes you to central Berlin in a few minutes.
As Berlin's housing prices have rocketed over thae last decade, our flat is very representative for a big city with small rooms and a rather "efficient" set-up. It is 80m² and has three bedrooms and a living room. So we will live very closely together. However, you will have your own small bedroom and we will do our best to provide your private bathroom/toilet. The shower would be shared.

We love to get to know other people and their stories and culture. We are all Germans. Nadine has travelled a lot in her life and has lived in various countries.

We will be happy to show you around the area here and provide suggestions e.g. city tours, places to go, hikes, parks etc.

Nadine speaks English and is happy to get some practice again as it is getting rusty.
Marcel's English is more basic, Lillie speaks German only, and slowly picks up some English words and phrases :D.

    Possible workaway projects for 2026:

    > Household & Cooking
We are a small family with a lively and sometimes quite busy daily schedule. Thus, a little help can make a big difference. Our vision is to keep a smooth, cozy, and clean household, where everyone contributes and feels at home.
We’d love to have someone who is happy to help with daily life tasks and has a passion for food, cooking, or natural homekeeping.
    You could support us with:
    - helping around the house (cleaning, tidying, organizing)
    - cooking and baking (feel free to share your favorite recipes🥰). Most of the time we eat vegetarian.
For this, it is a great benefit, if you have managed a household of your own before. Rarely, we may ask for working on a weekend day and getting free days during the week instead.

    > Bike maintenance:
Depending of the time of the year, we are using our bikes on a regular basis. If you have a passion for bikes and good knowledge how to repair and maintain them, this would be a great support for us.

    > Gardening for our balcony
Especially in March / April we love to plant our flower boxes on our balcony. If you have a passion for gardening, this could become your workaway project.

We love cultural exchange and to share a dinner meal or evening drink together is something we really enjoy. You are welcome to join us for a family activity we do on a weekend and Nadine will be happy to show you around our neighbourhood, providing support and recommendations for Berlin. We stick to the workaway regulations of a daily work contribution of 4-5 hours a day for 5 days a week.
