Once again, thank you Paolo, for sharing your paradise with me! The story you are writing is very inspiring. I admire you a lot for your courage and determination. I learned a lot from you, not only about sustainable farming, but about life in general. I left my job and life in Belgium because I wanted to do something different for a while. And so my workaway journey started in the country that I was not expecting, but loved from the very first moment I arrived. I will never forget last winter. Turned out to be the best winter of my life (so far). The winter I got tanned while weeding. The winter I finally got to live my childhood dream of being a farmer. The winter I got connected with nature and be surrounded by animals again. The winter of peace of mind, a different definition of time and going back to the essence. The winter I got fat as well… I discovered my passion for cooking again in a complete different way and level. To be able to cook with vegetables that where still standing on the fields not more than 5 minutes ago was really a dream coming true, as well as the circular vision of the farm. Bilgen stayed with us for two weeks in November, He was very interested and enthusiastic, but unfortunately was called away on family business, cutting his short stay even shorter. Bilden was always friendly and helpful. Got along with other people well and did his work conscientiously.

From the very beginning, Rita was responsible, kind, and genuinely caring—not only towards us, but especially towards our animals. Rita was attentive to each cat’s needs, making sure they were well-fed, comfortable, and given plenty of affection. Our two terrapins were also very well looked after, with their care routines followed perfectly.

I stayed about three weeks at Vedrana and Tina on the island Vis. I look back to these weeks with a warm heart. It felt like being part of the daily life in this small place on the island where you get to know your neighbours and the special way of living that an island like this brings you. I remember starting the days of with smiles saying good morning to both each other and the beautiful horses that I loved visiting every day. Be open and they will make you feel at home! Voluntary work included work among the animals, around the house or on the land close to the house. I went for swims(with the dogs) in a bay not too far away and we visited the nearby island town which was very cozy in the off tourist season, drinking coffee around island people. There is a community of more people living off grid on the island that you can visit and with whom Vedrana and Tina collaborate! I promise I will come back someday :)

I had a wonderful experience in Spain. From the very first day, I felt truly welcomed and part of the family. Nury and Rudi are very kind and open, and every day I learned something new from their life experiences. My main tasks involved taking care of the animals, including two horses, two dogs, and a cat. They are all incredibly sweet and loving, and I already miss them so much! In my free time, I really enjoyed exploring Alicante and the surrounding areas. I’m very grateful for this amazing experience and for the time I spent with them. I would highly recommend this host to anyone looking for a genuine and rewarding Workaway experience. Thank you again for everything!

We had Romain come to stay with us for a month and it was an absolute pleasure having him here. He is a great worker who kept on top of the work routine that is done daily and worked to a very high standard, he did everything that was asked of him . Although he is quite a quiet person there was never any awkwardness and we were both immediately at ease with him. One of the main things I loved about Romain was the compassion and affection shown to every animal here, always taking time to interact and show kindness. It was something that came naturally to him and the animals loved him for it. The other really special thing about him is the care he showed to two animals prior to us losing them when he was here. He was so kind, caring and gentle and the animals would’ve sensed that and at a sanctuary that provides all round care to animals some of which have been abused it means everything. I know whatever Romain goes on to do in the future he will be a massive success. We really hope to be seeing him again in the future, he will always be welcome.

Karina and Volker were very kind and thoughtful. The food was great and the accommodation very comfortable. Work was varied and included going to the woods which was fun despite the cold time of year. I was helped to explore this interesting area and would love to go back to see even more birds. It would also be a great place to stop on the way North. I hope I can return and have no hesitation in recommending a WorkAway there. Peace Nick

Kaede stayed with us in the winter for a month. She was well liked by everyone and performed her work duties well. I was really taken by the lightness with which she took the hard Finish winter. Something that even locals struggle with. Also she got on very well with the other. We can only recommend her.

It was a pleasure hosting Murad for a week! He is incredibly friendly, skilled, and jumped right into some of the more challenging tasks with a great attitude. He got along perfectly with our entire team and truly followed through on everything he promised. He is a wonderful person to have around, and we are so grateful for all his hard help at our property. Our doors are always open for him and our team will be very happy to see him again. if you’re a host, don't miss the chance to have him stay!

Denis is one of a kind. Logically thinking, reliable, respectful, honest, quiet, good worker. It was a pleasure to have him around and I enjoyed our conversations. I can recommend him 100 percent and wish him all the very best.

Azulejos, suelos de parqué, techo de cristal… todo es precioso. El exterior está siendo restaurado. El olivar, el viñedo, la zona boscosa y pronto las colmenas… ¡tantos proyectos maravillosos en los que incluso podrías participar! ¡Y todo esto cerca de la playa! El trabajo es variado y flexible: renovación, jardinería, construcción de nuevos proyectos El galpón, ese granero lleno de potencial, es donde comemos, compartimos asados, reímos, bailamos y practicamos deporte, con una vista imperdible de las estrellas y las tormentas al atardecer. Los animales: hay dos perros, El Chapu y Roy, cada uno con su propia personalidad, pero muy cariñosos. Y dos gatas, Oliva y Maréa, dulces e independientes, que te acompañarán durante tu estancia. Y luego está la gente que conocerás, el corazón de Workaway. Y si tienes la suerte, como nosotros, conocerás a Agustín, el hombre detrás de este increíble proyecto. Y a Lautaro, su hermano, quien lo acompaña en esta aventura. Son dos personas increíblemente amables que compartirán la cultura argentina contigo. Je crois que le mot qui nous vient en tête est INCRoyable. - en premier le lieux, la villa Maria, une bâtisse de 1904 avec un charme bien à elle. Carrelage, parquet, verrière, tout est beau. L’extérieur quand à lui est entrain de renaître. L’oliveraie, le vignoble, le bosquet et bientôt les abeilles que de beaux projets dont vous aller peut être contribuer. Le tout proche de la plage! Le travail est varié et flexible. rénovation, jardinage, construction de nouveaux projets - Le galpon, cette grange pleine de potentiel où l’on mange, partage des assado, rigole, danse, fait du sport avec une vue incontournable sur les étoiles et les tempêtes le soir - Les animaux, il y’a deux chiens El Chapu et Roy qui ont leur caractères mais si câlins. Et deux chattes, Oliva et Maréa douces et autonome qui aiguilleront votre séjour. - Et puis les rencontres, le cœur du workaway. Et bien si vous avez la chance comme nous, vous rencontrez Agustin celui qui pense et construit ce projet incroyable. Et Lautaro, son frère qui l’accompagne dans cette aventure. Berengere and TIMOTE are a wonderful small family along with their 2 lovely doggies They stayed at my farmhouse more than a month and we had great time together She was very sweet and helpful , very nice personality and calm Every morning she was on duty collecting fruits , cleaning the yard, feeding my pets ( 6 cats and one doggie ) and many more all these days We joined art class and we had often lunch together at the yard She left the house in excellent condition,clean and tidy ! Raphael was a pleasure to meet, we had some awesome conversations and he had a good rapport with everyone he got to meet here. Unfortunately it was raining when he arrived so that meant he did not get to do much outside work. He was willing and helpful around the house, and he did a good job with sweeping and mopping the floors. He also helped with the cooking and made a mean bangers n'mash! Finally it was time to go outdoors and tackle the tall grass with a whipper snipper! Although he had not used one before, Raphael persevered and conquered the sometimes cantankerous beasts, and yes he did a very good job! as the grass was very high and also slightly wet still. We all enjoyed his cheeky grin and enthusiasm for life and he is welcome back anytime he wishes! I truly hope he has many great adventures and wish him well! I found Raphael interesting and had meaningful intelligent conversations. Thanks Raphael!

I had a truly wonderful experience here. I felt very comfortable in the house from the very beginning; it has a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home right away. The animals were also such a joy to be around. Naomi the dog and Poa the cat are both lovely and added so much warmth to my stay. Dewi is a beautiful, kind-hearted, and calm person, and you can really feel that energy reflected in her home and the overall environment. I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine and relaxing Workaway experience.

I had a great experience staying with Adam. The main project involved helping with house renovation, and the work was well-organized and fair. They were very kind, flexible, and understanding, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable rather than stressful. I especially appreciated their openness and willingness to adapt plans when needed. Communication was easy, and I always felt respected and comfortable during my stay. Another highlight was the food and drinks—they shared delicious local dishes and some really good beers, which made the cultural exchange even more memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this host to anyone looking for a positive Workaway experience with a good balance of work, learning, and enjoying local life.

I had a great stay with Margaret, Derek and Marshall (the sweetest dog!). Margaret is a fantastic host who provided a comfortable place to stay and clear instructions on tanks that needed to be done. I found the routine very relaxed and learned a lot about the local area. A great way to start my adventure in New Zealand. Thank you Margaret!

Jeff and Darcie have been the highlight of my Workaway Experience. They were extremely welcoming, making me a part of the family from Day 1. They invited me to join all their events, including dinner parties, trips to the market, concerts, and community events. They showed me all the cool things Vic En Bigorre had to offer, including my favorite: the artisan pizza vending machines! The work was educational and Jeff made sure to have fun with it, playing music, joking and sharing stories as we restored centuries old features. While I was there, we mostly focused on reinforcing the ceiling, and it makes me proud to know that ceiling will be sturdy for a while yet to come! I also did some smaller tasks like staining windows, treating countertops, running wires through the walls, etc. While you're here, you'll be exposed to all sorts of fun projects! Jeff and Darcie really care about the people they invite into their beautiful home, they care about your well being and aspirations. My favorite part of the day was dinner, Jeff and Darcie are amazing cooks. Almost every night we had something new and delicious. I thought I was a good cook but they taught me so much and I can't wait to recreate Jeff's 'fried' chicken. I hope that Jeff and Darcie remain lifelong friends and I can't wait to come back to see the house once it's back to its former glory.

Flora and Florian are amazing volunteers. They spent a lot of time playing with and helping the children and always brought positive energy to our home. They also came to help me at my homestay once time at weekend and wonderful with the guests. They are friendly, helpful, and easy to live with. On their days off, they actively met local families to learn more about Vietnamese culture, which we really appreciated. We highly recommend them to future hosts.

I had a lot of very great moment at the english school of Phnom Penh. I stayed there 1 month. You can practice a lot about teaching 'cause all the lesson are prepared before by the main teacher. You also learn a lot from the kids there that are all very nice, talkative and easy going. Sometime they already have a real good fluent english what helps a lot for the conversation club. Special reference to the neighborhood professional badminton player kids ;). The size of each class allow you to be real close to any student and there's a lot of decent materials even though I think a good old whiteboard would be saving more money. Some online class also allow to practice others kind of teaching skills. Keep in mind its a very famillial situation but still very rewarding. All that without talking about our dear American and Khmer boss : Noah and Kheng. Two very friendly souls always ready to share a moment with you or a good conversation. They also are always honest and talkative and their advice are precious and positivs. They also give you a warm welcoming, and the conditions of life are comfy and convenient. The neighborhood of the capital city Phnom Penh where they did settled the school is great and its a good in between still close to the center. I definitely recommend it even if it aint the traditionalest place, I'm sure some people will prefer it like that, we're in the capital after all. The teaching hours are not long everyday and the schedule is well managed. It also a very inspiring teaching style of lesson through game and conversation. Long live the school.
