COVID update (04/21)
The government has recently NOT increased restrictions any more and is talking about the exit strategy. Nothing has been decided, but the talk is that summer may be "normal". Already tourist travel from some countries (like Australia, Thailand and Iceland) is permitted. And the general rule of thumb is that lower rates than Finland will be allowed first (see finnish border guard).
We hope to see many more of you here soon, and are quite hopeful that we can all start making plans again for summer.
This is a recently started non-profit organisation promoting creativity and well-being. Our space is a big old sanatorium, located in south-eastern Finland, one hour away from the capital Helsinki and surrounded by beautiful forests. The space is used to create a community for art, handicraft and wellness. It is important to us to create an atmosphere of open-mindedness and continuous learning. We are creative and lively couple, who have recently started this big project creating something big and meaningful with the community around us! We are happy to welcome people to join and be part of creating it. If you are interested, keep on reading and send us a message to join!
What we are creating is a community space that fosters creativity, healing, and connection. Here art, craft, music, yoga, dance, meditation, nature, and creative people of all kinds come together under our roof in an atmosphere of openness and learning. We provide opportunities for creative people to live, work, learn, create, exhibit, and perform in a healing natural setting. We are looking for help in many different tasks like building and maintenance, decoration, gardening, cooking, marketing, and much more! We have several people already with us at the project and there are also different types of events and gatherings happening. The Hub is a place to create, learn and regenerate. So it is a lively and active place but big enough to take your own space as well if needed.

We are happy to share our knowledge and you are welcome to join in yoga classes and other events organized at the location.
The space is really big, an old hospital building that we have already started to transform into a beautiful community art & well-being space. There is help needed in
- building/renovating the spaces, like painting, carpentry, fixing, decoration and maintenance.
- some cooking and cleaning (for courses)
- gardening (and landscaping, we do have a digger)
- marketing etc.
- computer networking. We have a very large network, that we don't understand
- electrical help with light switches/sockets. We have an electrical, but he is soo busy. interest is enough
- plumbing, we have to install 20-30 hot water boilers and fix 100 thermostats
- maker skills (motos/Arduino/programming) to improve our current systems
- horse upkeep (starting in spring 2021 we will have 3-4 horses)
- workshop maintenance/organisation of metal or woodworking workshops
- qualified yoga teacher for our weekly classes (Iyengar or yin)
If you have any special skills or interests, please let us know.
We like to find tasks people enjoy and have lots to choose from. We also appreciate self-motivated people and in general expect everyone to do their work when they want. As long as the hours and the work gets done we are fine.
Accommodation in private rooms or in rooms for two. We have several rooms for staying, some with own bathroom and all with a shared kitchen. Showers/ bathrooms are always close by to the rooms if not in the room. Linen will be provided. We take turns with cooking (so cooking is one of the tasks). Food is vegetarian and if there is no common food organized, then some basic ingredients will be provided. The closest supermarket is 6km away and car rides can be organized to go if needed.
The place is surrounded by a beautiful forest for walks in nature. Also a lake nearby for swimming during the summer. There is a sauna in the building, and the possibility to join other activities like yoga classes, art-events, our makers space with tools for woodwork, metalwork and sowing. There is public transportation available from close by to get to know the surrounding towns and cities. Close by is a lively artisan village called Fiskars, and a bit bigger city called Lohja with all different services.
We have a video call with anyone applying to clarify everything beforehand. Hope to see you soon!
