This workaway experience was really one of the kind and I will never forget it. The practical matters are already mentioned by other references of Simon and Loic and Tanguy and I agree with them 100%. Maybe just know that they actually need the help. This is not a volunteering where you just wonder around in a YOLO style without a will and strenght to do a physical work. I spent a week with Marlene and Toto and I was very happy and comfortable at their home and I hope I will visit them again. I only regret my spanish was not good enough to understand all of Toto's stories and jokes. Marlene is very kind and heartwarming person, also very inspiring as a woman with all her skills. They are both very strong and hardworking. Spending time with them and seeing them do everything by themselves with very little help and technique you realize (or I did), that you probably wouldn't survive without all the modern things we are used to nowadays. Gracias Marlene y Toto I already miss you ♥️

I spent about three weeks with Ali and Martina, only mending nets for the olive harvest. While they were friendly hosts, the work was very boring and monotonous. The house is located in a small village with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean coast. I had my own flat with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and a private terrace, which was a big plus. We sometimes had dinner together and went on short trips to the surrounding countryside and the seaside. However, there were several issues that affected my stay. In October, the area suffers from severe water shortages due to a lack of rain. This meant very limited access to water for showering and washing — during almost a month, I was only able to shower four times. This situation was not clearly communicated beforehand. This was also the only Workaway where I had to pay for part of my food. Breakfast was never included, and for some dinners I had to provide my own meals. Additionally, the agreed workload changed: before arrival thry wrote in their profile five working days per week with three to four hours per day, but once I started, I was asked to work six days a week for four hours a day. Overall, the location and accommodation were very nice, but due to the monotonous work, water restrictions, additional food costs, and changes to the agreed schedule, the experience did not fully meet my expectations.

We had a wonderful experience with Mara coming to stay and help us. I am a single mom with a baby and 2 pets. Mara swooped in on short notice when I had some plans fall through, and her stay was such a gift. She was with us for 10 weeks. She took lots of initiative to help with things for the baby and around the house. She genuinely enjoys cooking, which was such a treat ( lasagna, curry, norwegian cinnamon rolls....yum). Mara is wise and mature beyond her years, and communicates well. We really enjoyed her company.

I spent several days with Carol-Ann and Peter during last holidays at Couloumé-Mondebat, I helped them with general maintenance and gardening. It was a great experience. Thank you very much, and I wish you the best of luck with your projects.

Although I already had quite great few experiences as a workawayer, this one in particular is special. I have been blessed by this stay in the nature at the top of a mountain in Slovenia! The landscape was so scenic and calm. Alkesander is such a kind and welcoming host. He made sure I am comfortable and well received. He made me feel at home from the very first day and working with him has been a great pleasure. He is precise on what should be done and he makes sure everything is clear at the start of the day. He is also super flexible and was open to all the changes and suggestions I had! Not only did I get mental and emotional rest but also have been introduced to many aspects and ways of interacting with ourselves and the others from Alkesander. I am very grateful and blessed I came across your profile. Thank you!

Alvaro and Yiğit are truly very hospitable and sincere people. If you are interested in learning a language, especially Turkish and Spanish, I definitely recommend joining them. During the time I was there, I tried to be as helpful as I could. It was an enjoyable two weeks and I had plenty of opportunities to practice English. We will meet again later.

we were lucky enough to volunteer for Aaron for a little over a week- we would've extended if we had more time in Colombia! Aaron is an exceptional communicator, very kind and incredibly helpful generous and understanding. we were asked to do a special project on the property where we identified flora and fauna. but there was never a dull moment and always fun random tasks to do! the volunteer accommodations were great- a separate living space bathroom and kitchen from the Airbnb cabins. but you are allowed to take advantage of the whole property- including the wonderful vegetable garden. There is an adorable cuddly cat named Mochi on the property as well as a llama! Jerico is a wonderful town and somewhere you could stay for weeks on end. we truly hope to be able to return again, it was an incredible experience that we could not recommend more!! such a special and unique opportunity!!

Loved every minute of this "job". It really was more like a holiday. Everything fell into place so nicely, too, since I had only seen Brenda and Matt's posting when time to find someone was of the essence for them. Luckily for me, a previous arrangement didn't materialize, so I wound up in paradise. it was just wonderful to have had a chance to help and make new friends at the same time. Would love to stay in touch.

I had an amazing Workaway experience on the farm with Patricia, her two daughters, and all the animals (Tomas was away for this time). She is incredibly warm, welcoming, and kind. She’s also very patient and always happy to explain things or answer questions. I was lucky enough to spend Christmas and New Year’s with her family and neighbours, which was really special. Like many of the volunteers, I ended up extending my stay because it was so hard to leave this little slice of paradise. The tasks are varied, from animal care and splitting firewood to gardening and drying herbs. The work itself feels fulfilling and grounding, and there’s always something new to learn. The property is beautiful and located in a stunning part of Chile, with great hiking options nearby for days off. I’m very grateful for this experience and would absolutely recommend staying with Patricia and her family!

Vivi helped us for about two weeks, we minded Jersey cows cleaning up the roadsides, cooked, vacuumed, carted firewood, fixed water problems and repaired tracks. Vivi enthusiastly and diligently worked whenever necessarily and did a good job. We really enjoyed hosting her and would highly commend her for any position you have available.

Aprendimos a jugar backgammon

Noonie and Emilia were truly exceptional guests. They helped us map out the flora and fauna species on our property; an enormous contribution to our ongoing studies and conservation work. Their attention to detail and genuine passion for nature made a real impact. They also took wonderful care of our cat, administering eye drops 2x daily and giving her so much affection and patience. We were deeply grateful for that level of care. Beyond that, they assisted with welcoming guests and keeping our micro-resort operations organized and running smoothly. They were reliable, proactive, and always willing to help where needed. We would absolutely love to host them again in the future, and any host lucky enough to receive them should know they are truly outstanding. Highly recommended!

Ranier house and dog sitter for us for 3 weeks. He is respectful and a good worker. His English is very good and has some great life stories. He is a hard worker and helped us with some tree clearing without being asked. I would highly recommend him. have fun on your NZ adventure.

Da‑eun stayed with us for almost three weeks and exceeded our expectations! She integrated wonderfully into our daily life and was a huge help in the garden (hedge trimming, weeding, lawn care) as well as in the house with cleaning, cooking, and even some alteration sewing. She works independently, carefully, and incredibly fast – truly impressive! Communication was always easy and pleasant; her English is very good, and there were never any misunderstandings. On top of that, she is a very friendly, respectful, and polite person, and we always felt comfortable around her. She even took the time to cook Korean dishes for us, which was a very special experience! We would welcome Da‑eun back anytime and can highly recommend her to other hosts.

I reached out to Annalouise quite last minute during the holiday period, and she responded quickly and warmly, kindly welcoming me into her home. Communication from the very beginning was smooth, clear, and supportive. I arrived around New Year’s, a time when she was also organising a retreat together with a lovely friend, which made the experience even more special. This was my very first Workaway experience, and if future ones carry even a similar energy, I can already consider myself incredibly grateful. Annalouise is a wonderful host, and I was blessed to stay in her casita adjacent to her home, beautifully named La Casa de Bendiciones (the House of Blessings). I helped with organising the retreat and with various household chores. While there was plenty to do, Annalouise was always attentive to my comfort, making sure I didn’t overexert myself and encouraging me to take time to rest and enjoy the experience. I was also invited to take part in the retreat activities alongside the other guests, and I felt included and part of the community she created from the very first moment. We shared meaningful and eye-opening conversations. Anna is a beautiful soul who holds space with great care while also offering deep insights. Her life experience is truly captivating to listen to. As a host, she is organised, thorough, and diligent, clearly communicating her needs while remaining equally considerate of mine. I would return without hesitation should our paths align again, and I remain deeply grateful for everything I experienced during my time Workawaying at Annalouise’s place!
