I (Sue) spent my time in the restaurant - taking orders, serving and chatting to the customers and occasionally helping out in the kitchen, washing up - with a bit of painting now and then. Javiers restaurant in El Remate is a beautiful place to volunteer! It's a pretty and cozy place. I had an amazing first workaway experience here. Everyone is really nice, and a few days in it felt like I was helping out a friend rather than working as a volunteer. I enjoy the days with Ceci, Jose, Vilma and Javier. Peten is a amazing place the nature very preserve, a perfect lake, the forest and the temples of civilization Maya. This is a good place, very interesting ecofriendly restaurant and the delicious food.
