    Description

Hi all, we are Martina (originally from Germany) and Ali and have been rebuilding a small stone house in a beautiful little village in the National Park of Cilento, 5 km from the Mediterannean. The property around the house is 4000 m2 with 2 wells, a lot of olive trees, citrus/orange and fig trees as well as other fruit bearing trees.

I am fluent in German and English and also speak some Italian, Ali speaks German, Turkish and a little bit of Italian. We are easy-going and passionate about nature and plants. Ali is a very experienced gardener and he is also a film maker.

Opportunity to learn about pruning olive and fruit trees, as well as the harvesting and conserving of olives and other fruits such as figs, lemons etc. Workawayers also would have the chance to experience life in a traditional Italian village and learn about Italian cooking. Also guests could improve English and German language skills.

For July /August/September 2026 we are looking for people that can help with tasks in the garden (harvesting fruit, figs and olives and irrigation). Also we have some small DIY projects like building a garden shed, building some small walls for garden and building a small kitchen cabinet. For these a person with a bit of technical knowledge and hands-on practical skills would be very welcome.

For the time from November onwards we are looking for a house/pet-sitter who will take care of our 3 young cats. They need to be fed twice daily and are used to human company. So they appreciate a bit of playing and cuddling , but for the rest of time they are roaming around in the garden as they please. The house/petsitter should stay at least until beginning of January. During this time we will not be present. So you would have to prepare your own meals.

    Accommodation

On ground floor there is a self-contained flat for workawayers with separate entrance, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
During house sitting in winter the workawayer need to provide for himself.

When we are present we would provide snack at lunch . Dinner could also be shared or alternatively workawayer could also prepare his own dinner in his own kitchen.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Only non-smokers please. It would be beneficial if workers have their own car / e-bike or small motor bike, as there is almost no public transport in the village. Just one bus runs to Agropolis in the morning and returns early afternoon. Sea is closeby (just 5 km), nearby are beautiful coastlines of Cilento with great beaches. Also Paestum with its ancient Greek temples, Velia and holiday resorts of St. Maria di Castellabate are very close. Also possible to go hiking in the nearby surrounding hills of Monte Stella.
