we are settlers, our ancestors came to occupy this part of the Andes in the early 1900's. We own a 120 hectare farm where we raise cattle, sheep, poultry, and horses.

We are a gaucho muleteer family. In 2013 Unesco and the national council of culture, arts and heritage, recognised our father as a living human treasure, for keeping alive the culture and the trade of muleteer for more than 50 years, activity that he learned from his father, who also learned from his father the trade.

We are 4 generations of muleteers of the Cordillera. We also receive tourists in our house, a family lodge and camping, as well as horseback riding and trekking, all this in the summer season.

Once a year we do the "El Paso Cochamó", a journey that keeps a lot of history and tradition. It is part of the mountain corridor used by the Tehuelches of Patagonia more than 3,000 years ago. Later it was used by the Chilean-Argentine Company for the cattle trade from El Bolsón, in Argentina, to Cochamó in Chile. This bi-national route invites us to get to know the life of the troperos (muleteers), in an experience full of adventures, which starts in the heart of the mountain range. Together with them, the horse, their main vehicle, and the dog, their faithful companion, the perfect team to cross the mythical mountain range herding animals for several days".
