I am late with my feedback, but better late than never :-) I spent almost 2 months in Eric and Joelle's place in summer 2025, and the memories of that time are still warming me in wintery England. The farm is in absolutely gorgeous place, in the and surrounded by mountains, scenic views, silence (except white noise from windmills, but you get used to that) and extremelly little social life (which fitted me just fine). I enjoyed jobs in the garden - especially taking care of grapes, like pruning, spraying them; weeding, watering. Joelle has extensive knowledge of permaculture and I learned from her a lot too. Both Eric and Joelle have very nice personalities, lovely people to be around, but also deep and sensitive and it was a joy to share more profound conversations, laughter and just chats about life. I shared my knowledge of alternative therapies and received a wonderful session from Joelle - with bodywork and meditation. Deep work! And we also shared some hikes in the mountains and walks to waterfall. Eric is a great storyteller, bringing sparks wherever he goes. And the eaperience of baking our own pizza in authentic Portugese oven was great fun. During weekends I loved long hikes in the mountains. They were amazing! It was hot in summer, but I loved getting up early (also for working days) as then it was fresh and pleasantly cool. My only wish was that I had a car as sometimes wanted to explore a little bit further. All in all - a wonderful experience! I'm deeply grateful to both Eric and Joelle for having me and sharing a bit of their life, their vision and dreams.

Jan (Honza) is an amazing guy and we were so blessed by having him here! He is super positive, physically strong, intelligent, kind , respectful, balanced and so very helpful. He was flexible and he helped our friends alot with their project. We are so grateful ans he is always welcome here.

We are so sad! Yesterday, our dear friends Kei, Kurumi, Zach & Conny left after 39 days as part of our family, not just Workawayers but forever family! Where do we start? They came to pick plums and did so much more. They weeded, they painted, they mowed the lawns, they made plum-selling signs, and bamboo-selling signs, and kitchen cupboard and drawer signs, and they did laundry, and cooking, and cleaning, and Bananagram playing, and all the time they talked about things. And in English, so we all knew what was being discussed. But above it all, was the plums! Our orchard plus our neighbours, has many plum trees, and at the crack of dawn, they were picking and sorting and getting the plums ready to go to the farmers’ market. And what a joy to share this Kiwi experience with them! They were wonderful. 😀 We had such a shared experience with them, at Christmas and New Year, going to the Lake reserve, the beach, the Levin agricultural show and the pottery exhibition.

Merle was an amazing helper on our small farm. Merle carried out every task requested and was awesome with the whipper snipper. We can highly recommend Merle to any host and she will truely be missed.

Rose was great to have around. She was with us for only a very short time unfortunately because she had other set travel plans, but she joined us for 5 days, and brought such a positivity and good energy. She was super willing and excited to jump in and help cleaning the waterfalls, and building a trail to our new cave we are uncovering. She was optimistic, and very fun to have here. Beautiful inside and out, radiating a wonderful character and positive attitude. We all enjoyed here being here to join us here in Camotes Philippines at the waterfalls...

This was a more magical experience than I could have ever imagined. Annabel was one of the loveliest people I have ever met. She has a massive heart, the kindest soul and one of the brightest smiles you'll ever see. I've never felt more welcomed into a new home. Annabel was so supportive and gave lots of freedom to do the jobs that really energized me. She also included me in many of her adventures and explorations around Kelowna. I was able to expereince so much joy on this farm. And it was such a pleasure to becomes friends with Jessica, along with the 2 in-house little furry friends name Jake (Annabel's dog), and Scout (Jess's cat). This will be an experience that I never forget and will cherish forever!

We had a beautiful time with Hannah and her sweet daughter Mēabh. We had a very easygoing and natural connection, always a positive and friendly atmosphere and lots to share and talk about. Hannah is very sweet, kind, positive, energetic and generous! She gave alot of her self in many ways. Very flexible and patient. Very loving towarda our children and our whole family. Our daughters played great together and our summer was eneiched because of them!

My experience at the farm was wonderful. Zeb and the rest of the team were very kind, and working in the fields was a lot of fun. My English is still not very good, but everyone was understanding. I also bought food at the farm shop, and everything was excellent. I hope to see you again someday.

Thank you so much Inngun and Lars for your work during your stay at our finca, you helped so much prunning the fruit trees and preparing new beds in the garden for next spring. We enjoy your company so much. Hope we'll see you again!

Simon is reliable, proactive, and easy to work with, and he showed a genuine interest in understanding the project as a whole rather than just focusing on individual tasks. His ability to combine practical skills with reflection and problem-solving was particularly valuable. He brought a thoughtful and structured approach to the work, which not only helped us move forward efficiently but also gave me a renewed perspective on the overall process.

Berta and Alba were dedicated during the volunteering and perform duties such as cleaning spaces, feeding, waking and for sure cuddle our dogs! Theis attitude was possitive and they were friendly with the team. Hope them the best in their future volunteer opportunities

I hosted Ginevra and Sofia for few days and we got on really well, hope to see each other soon

We spent a great week at Gaby's. Our accommodation was our own little house on the property, in which we felt very comfortable. We worked mainly in the garden and we prepared the roof of the house for a new coat of paint. The dinner together was always delicious. Gabys is a great cook, with his fantastic salads being particularly noteworthy. On the weekend we went surfing together on the beach and there was a nice little flea market with great live music in the village. As a farewell we got some delicious avocados and lemons from the tree. Thank you for everything Melli, Alex and Dibbi

Apolline came to help us with two of her friends and all three of them were amazing volunteers. The girls help us with a range of tasks, shared chores like cooking and introduced us to some interesting French culture :) They are enthusiastic, easy going , fun and adapted to our forest lives very well. We would recommend them as volunteers for anyone and hope they come back to visit us one day!

J'ai passé une quinzaine de jours dans le centre au côté d'Hortense. Ce fut une expérience très enrichissante. J'ai été accueillie comme une membre de la famille et est adorée échanger avec Hortense qui est une femme en or ! J'ai évidement participé à l'encadrement des enfants mais le besoin principal est la collecte de fond permettant de valoriser davantage l'école qui le mérite amplement. A toutes celles et ceux qui seraient intéressés pour aider le centre, n'hésitez pas ! 😁

We've been hosting for over seven years, and out of all that time Honorine has been one of our best volunteers. She is a hard worker, and is very detail oriented, conscientious and has a high degree of integrity. We certainly hope that Honorine will visit us again someday. Her contributions have left us better off and she deserves all the best that Canada has to offer in her year ahead.

What a paradise I found at Berengere´s house! Her place is perfect! surrounded by wonderful nature! so peaceful! All her vibe is amazing! We always had great communication, understanding and even if she wasn't around, her friends were very attentive and helpful, for example, her friend Bojan helped me to understand and taught me how to do things around. Her neighbours were always so friendly too. I enjoyed my time there!! I hope to go back soon! :)

During her two weeks with us as a Workaway volunteer, Melanie was primarily responsible for looking after the children, and she did an excellent job. She connected with them quickly and naturally, creating a calm, reliable, and positive presence that the children clearly felt comfortable with and enjoyed. Melanie is generally very friendly, open, and approachable. She is attentive, thoughtful, and brings a good level of knowledge and awareness into what she does. She communicates clearly, takes responsibility seriously, and shows genuine care in her interactions with both children and adults. What stood out most was her flexibility. Melanie arrived during a particularly difficult and chaotic time for us, and instead of needing structure or guidance to function well, she adapted remarkably to our changing needs. She responded day by day with patience, initiative, and a practical mindset, consistently helping to make things easier rather than adding pressure. That level of adaptability and emotional steadiness was truly outstanding and deeply appreciated. Melanie was a real team player throughout her stay. She integrated smoothly into daily life, was supportive and cooperative, and her presence was genuinely enjoyed by everyone. We are very grateful for her contribution and would happily recommend her to any future hosts.

I spent two weeks with Shanti and Matu and it was a wonderful experience. They are both incredibly welcoming and kind people and made sure that all the volunteers were comfortable. It can be hard work, but it is varied and they are always accommodating to change tasks if you would like. The location is quite remote, but there is always plenty of food and everything one could need on the property. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to unplug from city life! Ali visited us previously last year, then returned shortly afterwards to spend more time with us, and has now spent roughly 3 months with us. He is a fantastic team player, who always made sure that all guests and colleagues were doing okay, and would also go above and beyond by making his delicious Hummus, which we would occasionally serve alongside the breakfasts for guests :D Ali was always in the kitchen cooking or baking for other colleagues, and helps out around the hostel not just in the kitchen, but also at reception, as well as doing extra tasks around the hostel. Ali adds a great vibe to the hostel, A huge thank you for all of the lovely times :D We wish you safe travels from the whole Team!
