I realize that I didn't leave any feedback, even though my stay was truly incredible! Leena and Simo were really welcoming, and thanks to them, I had so many wonderful experiences! I was able to learn Finnish more intensively, I learned how to cook classic Finnish dishes ♥️, and they really welcomed me like a member of the family! Thank you for everything, and I hope we'll see each other again :) Kiitos, että otit aikaa opettaa minulle suomea ♥️

I had an incredible time staying on LeAnne and Ian’s farm. These are memories I will take with me. Coming from more of a city background, I really appreciated how much time they took to educate me about farming. This experience helped me see how farmers and their cows are one shared ecosystem. It also highlighted the disconnect that often exists between consumers and farmers which was something that became much clearer when seeing things firsthand. I really enjoyed LeAnne’s home-cooked dinners and desserts alongside the discussions we shared. The view of the mountain was an absolute treat. LeAnne and Ian were incredibly generous and offered great recommendations on places to visit around the region. Inglewood itself was so lovely and I always felt safe exploring. The list could honestly go on, but thank you LeAnne and Ian so much for the opportunity. And an honourable mention to the wonderful company of the lovely dogs.

We stayed here for 2,5 weeks and could not have felt more welcome. Barnabas picked us up from the trainstation and Jane and Neicy prepared us a wonderful place to stay. We had two bedrooms, a sitting area and a kitchen for ourselves. It was super clean and very comfortable. The property is very big and beautifully located. The climate is wonderful and we loved it that there are so many animals. When we were there, there was only one other family living at the property, but this will hopefully change to having more families there or opening the school. But the family which was there was wonderful. They helped us whenever we needed help and we enjoyed all the conversations, joined dinners and joined trips to a few parks. Our kids got along very well with their children and are still in touch with each other. Ybo build together with help of Jins (or son) a wood fire oven during the 2,5 weeks we were there and I taught Neicy how to bake a sourdough bread and banana bread. Furthermore we helped in the vegetable garden and made a video. We were very free in our work which made us feel responsible for it and made us enjoy it even more. We can definitely recommend this place, especially if you will be there for at least 2 weeks or preferably longer. Thank you Barnabas for making it possible to stay at your place and thank you Neicy, Lalboi, Jane and the children for making us feel at home. We hope to see you all back some day.

Amit was a fantastic help during his stay with us at our camping. He spent quality time with my son, Marcos, helping him improve his English and computer skills in a way that was engaging, patient and genuinely fun. Marcos looked forward to their time together, which says a lot. He is reliable, trustworthy, and brings a positive, easygoing attitude to everything he does. We felt completely comfortable having him with our family and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone dependable, skilled, and great with children! Thank you, Amit, for everything you brought with you — your help, your energy, and your kindness!

Carla was an absolute joy to host and a true sunshine human. She supported us with social media content and also led yoga classes at our school. She’s reliable, kind, and genuinely uplifting to have around. Carla is the kind of person who makes a place feel better just by being there. We’d welcome her back without hesitation

We are so happy Yara could stay with us. She brought such nice and vital energy into our house. She has really good sense of humor and she has very strong and open-minded personality. She shared a lot about Chinese culture with us and she helped us study Chinese. She was incredibly good at explaining the language in wider context. She explained so many things you are able to find just when you read between lines. She was the best teacher ever! Our kids loved her. She was just perfect with them! Rozi, the elder one, ask every day if we could fly to see Yara again! Yara also shared a lot of things about her life. After just one month we feel in the way we became good friends, very close friends actually and we are very grateful for it. We truly hope we will meet Yara again (soon)!!!

We were blessed to host a wonderful and loving couple from the UK. They were wise, mature, and very understanding. They guided us through marketing sessions, video shooting, fundraising, and even teaching the children. We gained so much experience and learned a lot from them. As hosts, we felt as if they were sent from heaven. Our friendship will not stop; it shall continue. real people still exist. Don’t give up. 💛

I had a very fun 3 weeks volunteering at Mogi's school! Darkhan is a fascinating place, and if you are the sort of traveler who takes satisfaction in finding unique rugged destinations, you will be very satisfied. Especially in the frigid white Winter, it feels a bit otherworldly. There are several good restaurants within walking distance of the apartment and a cozy cafe that is open late at night. I was particularly taken by the intrepid locals of Darkhan who walk, play, and celebrate outdoors in spite of the conditions. Personally, I found the cold exhilirating! The job expectations are very reasonable but the role itself can be difficult depending on your comfort level with children and teaching. You will be expected to teach classes and plan lessons (and pick lesson topics) on your own. I found it a bit overwhelming at first but I definitely got more used to it by the end! However, it was definitely a bit exhausting at times haha. I did not have much experience with children though so I am sure it would be easier for experienced teachers. The kids themselves vary widely in English experience, from complete beginner to fairly proficient. The kids were cute, friendly, and engaged for the most part, although managing differences in engagement and ability was a big part of the teaching dynamic. The apartment is very nice and I appreciate that Mogi provides her workawayers with a comfortable and private accommodation. It was very cozy and actually too warm for my liking at times but that is far better than the alternative during the Mongolian January :) The separate accommodation does mean that there is less opportunity for host engagement and you will have most of the time outside of school to yourself. That being said, Mogi is happy to arrange cultural exchange experiences for workawayers, and she took me to visit a semi-nomadic family near Darkhan which was a highlight of my stay. Mogi and her partner (Mogi) also took me out to a very nice lunch during my final day at school. Overall, this is a fantastic workaway if you like children, are prepared for the weather during whichever season you visit, and are looking for a more independent experience. Thank you Mogi and Mogi for a wonderful stay and I can't wait to visit Mongolia again when the grass grows!

We spent two weeks in Sulawesi assisting with various different projects, our favourite was Kapitu and our memories of the people here will last forever! We also got on very well with the staff here, they really made our experience and took us for evenings out. The pace can be a little slow, everything can take some time but the projects are worthwhile. We would love to visit again sometime in the future

My first Workaway experience was with Peter, and it lasted six months. We initially agreed on one month, but living together felt so easy and natural that I stayed longer. For Peter, well-being and enjoyment are truly important in everything we shared, both during volunteering hours and outside of them. He invites you in and gives you space at the same time, which creates a very healthy and respectful environment. He is an amazing cook, and we shared incredible conversations around the table. Clara, his daughter, is an absolute sweetheart. We played cards, went for walks and long talks, had picnics at the beach, carved pumpkins for Halloween 😊, and shared many simple but meaningful moments. And of course, I have to mention Xander, the dog, who is such a loving soul and a very important member of the family. Xander made me laugh a lot from the very beginning. He seemed a bit jealous when Peter and I were talking, so at first he would come over, climb on top of Peter, and place himself right in front of his face so we couldn’t continue the conversation. After a couple of weeks, he stopped doing it 😊 He is a very well-behaved, calm, and affectionate dog, and his company is truly wonderful. Communication with Peter was always very good. Respectful, honest, and open. We both listened, and we both expressed ourselves. He taught me so much about Danish culture, and he is a very generous and kind person. I feel deeply grateful to Peter for the way he treated me, for sharing his home, his culture, his humor, his knowledge, and for teaching me things like painting walls, cooking traditional Danish food, and making flower bouquets. I truly consider Peter part of my family. This Workaway experience gave me a great friend. Thank you, Peter 🤍

We had a really great time with Onintza! ♥️ She visited me with her sister Iraide. It was a first-time workaway experience for both of us. She could easily connect my 4 year-old daughter, as they were playing together I felt that she can speak hungarian. 😅 That's all that a young child need: your full attention. We could share a lot, she could easily connect with art, children, spirituality, tradition, everyday tasks. It was a pleasure to spend some weeks together, this two girls were my extra hands, they were like two angels arround me, who could easily recognise the tasks arround us, who were helping us in every stages of life. I wish everyone could experience this kind of caring. ✨ Thank you very much and I hope I can visit you one day!

I can't even begin to describe the amazing time that I had here. I was travelling in Kenya for three months beginning with one month at the academy. After continuing my travels, I quickly realized that I wanted to come back and spend another month with all the amazing children, teachers, and staff. The kids are truly special. They will make you laugh and smile every single day without fail. They genuinely love getting to know you and spending time with you. They are also so hard working, and great to have in class. They are working toward big dreams, which everyone here is working hard to help them achieve. The teachers and staff also made my time here so amazing. They are the most welcoming people you'll find. From the day you arrive, they will include you in everything, in their classes, helping to cook in the kitchen, in extracurricular activities. I feel so grateful to have been welcomed into the community and involved in everything. Here, you can truly be immersed within the community and culture. If you have the opportunity to come here, you will have the absolute best time!!
