We’re Lana and Ruby, a 23 and 22 year old from England looking to experience new cultures and to share and learn with the community!

We love being outside and spending time in nature and are interested in learning more about sustainable living. Lana loves reading and writing, and has an interest in photography and gardening/ foraging, Ruby loves cooking and carpentry and enjoys music and playing the guitar/ banjo.

I am an adaptable person and love to learn. I am happy to help with general tasks around a home, or on a farm, with cooking, physical labour and community projects.

I have experience in hospitality and customer service. I have worked in a few independent cafes during my studies and have loved meeting new people and supporting small, eco-conscious businesses through these jobs! I have also been able to learn about coffee and become fully barista trained!

My mother tongue is English and I have worked as an English nanny for a year in France, teaching children English through play and childcare. I have also been an English tutor for older students during my studies. Sharing ideas and beliefs with others is very important to me so I would love to take part in a cultural/ language exchange.

I have previously volunteered to help clear big outdoor spaces and have worked in basic construction (under the direction of a professional!) I was able to try out some simple woodwork and bricklaying as well as painting and decorating. I am also currently helping to build a treehouse as part of a family project and enjoy using our family allotment to grow vegetables and to cook and eat food more seasonally. I enjoy manual work that supports a bigger goal and I can learn quickly!
