    Description

My name is Virág, I'm a folk artist. I have a really cool daughter who is now 4 years old. We are searching for one more member to our group, who can make our complete, active and adventurous life even more colourful, lovely and easy. 🥰 (Sometimes my two hands and the 24 hours of the day is not enough... 😅)

We are big travelers; this little girl visited 35 places in her first year of her life, and by the age of three and a half, she has already been on almost 30 flights. But we also love being at home. We live in the countryside of Hungary. It’s not too far from the capital, but far enough. 🥰

I work as a traditional folk artist and I also teach on courses. In the garden, we have a "cultural barn", where sometimes we hold programs related to folk arts, folk music, dance, and tales. Our home is very cozy, most things around us are handmade, with inspiring colors, paintings, and wooden furnitures. We are part of a small Waldorf community with other amazing children and parents. This is the first Waldorf institution in Nógrád County, which we created together with the parents and teachers. It’s a very lovely community.

My daughter Gizi and I live a very active life; there is always something happening around us. I enjoy baking cakes, I love listening to music, Gizi likes to dress up silly, water everything everywhere, and we both love painting. Sometimes we laugh out loud, play, swing, and sometimes we just cuddle up on the couch listening to soft jazz music. Life around us is lively. If I were you, I’d join us :)

There are lots of people in this region who have started a new life in the countryside.
They’re really cool and open-minded people who care about nature and the environment. Many of them are renovating their houses in an eco-friendly way.

The region is very calm and peaceful.
Just 14 km from here, there's a Waldorf kindergarten, a Buddhist community, and even a stupa.

There are beautiful hiking trails around our village — you might even see deer! 🥰

Anyway, I work on some really cool programs connected to folk arts and culture — you’re very welcome to join me if you feel like it!

Or, if you prefer, I can give you my bike and you can explore the area on your own. There are plenty of beautiful places to hike and discover. But if you hate walking, then we have a very small "river" at the end of our garden. 😅

    Help

In the past two years, I've been the only adult in our little family, and it would be really nice to feel that someone is around us. Sometimes, it would be so simple — just having an extra pair of hands can make all the difference.

    SUMMER EDITION OF OUR LIFE
    /june-july-august/

I'm teaching at summer camps and festivals during the whole summer. There are some weeks, when we only spend one day at home washing our clothes and next day we are already on the other side of the world.

It would be really nice to find a workawayer, who would join is from the middle of june until the end of august. For the last summers I could solve it alone to take care about Gizi and doing my work, but it would be soooo soooo nice to start the september without a burnout. 😅

So here are the things, that you could do for us during the summer camps/festivals:

    - giving food for Gizi, when she is hungry
-dressing her up after a big game with water
-opening her water bottle like 5 times a day
-buying her icecream (and also for yourself, I pay the bill 😅)
-giving her your full attention sometimes (2x15 minutes a day is really charges her. She has no problem with language, she doesn't really care if you don't understand her, with nonverbal communication you can handle everything. The most important thing for her is beeing heared, she really likes telling long stories, explaining difficult roleplays, all she wants to hear is "ooooh", and "wow".)
-be with her while she is participating some child programs, like handcraft activities or listening to folk tales
-help me bringing my handcraft stuffs from one place to another, help me setting up the tent and packing our lugage sometimes, really just some small things wich tales a really long time if I do it alone with only 2 hands of minek, while a 4 year-old "helps" me... 😅

Most of the times I'm teaching at really nice traditional programs, so in the evening you can learn folk dances, listen to live music. Sometimes we are sleeping in tent (I can also give one to you), we don't always have the everyday comfort of having a bed or a kitchen, but I really love this kind of living during the summer.

    SCHOOL-TIME EDITION OF OUR LIFE
    /september-june/

I have a huge list of plans related to the barn, to art, and to the house, but starting it all alone isn’t always easy.

So, I see two possible ways this could work:

You help me with my projects — around the house, in the barn, or with my art — and then in the afternoons I can feel like, “OK, the work is done, now I can fully enjoy time with my daughter.”

Or, you spend time with us in the afternoons — play with my daughter, help out around her, or just bring some fun and lightness into our day — so I can get a bit more work done.

Honestly, both options sound really good to me! 😊
    Which one would you prefer?

On the weekdays Gizi is in kindergarden from, so my most active time is between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. so if we have any big plans, that we could do togerher, this is the perfect time. On weekends I'm mostly working, sometimes I will ask you to come with us to this programs to be with Gizi, but mostly I can solve it somehow.

This long list doesn't mean, that you have to spend all your time with us, all the weeks are very different, and every week we can consult about the perfect ballance of free time and participating. 🥰

I believe that if you spend time with us, you'll naturally learn a lot about nature, arts, handcraft techniques, and creative ways to solve problems around the house.

My sister has a French family. I learned French too, but I haven’t really used it. I'm better at English — I can express myself quite well, and if we talk daily, I’m sure I’ll get even better. 😁

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We live in a really cute, fully renovated traditional Hungarian farmhouse, which is 55 m².

We have a small separate building near the house (5 méteres)— in Hungarian, it's called a “summer kitchen” — and you can use it as your own private space. The kitchen and the bathroom is in the main house, we use it together. Also there is an outdoor kitchen ín the barn, outdoor toilet with a nice view tó the forrest.

The summer kitchen (during the Pintér) can be heated with a wood-burning stove, just like the main house.

One important note about food: we don’t eat anything that contains gluten, because I'm celiac.
You're welcome to eat gluten, but only outside in the garden — not inside the house or kitchen.
Any food I prepare or offer will always be completely gluten-free.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Public transportation isn’t great from our village, but in the neighboring villages you can catch buses to other places.

Once or twice a week I'm working in the capital city, you have the opportunity to join me in the car and do some sightseeing while I'm working. This opportunity also works if I work in any other places.

Arround the village you're welcome to use my bike while. Just a heads-up: the area is quite hilly! I’ve biked to some of the nearby villages myself — it’s doable, but it can be a workout.

There is a shop very close to our house, and we can buy homemade milk products and eggs by a 5 minutes walk. (Sometimes maybe I will ask you to go to the shop, because with Gizi it's a 45 minutes program all together... 😅)

The garden is really peaceful, and you can get Wi-Fi out there. It’s a great spot for working from home — it’s quiet, the view is beautiful, there’s a small stream at the end of the garden, and right beyond that is the forest.

We have a cat who gets along well with other animals. If you're traveling with your pet, I’m guessing they’re friendly too — so hopefully everyone will get along just fine!
