What a kind and thoughtful person! I didn't get the chance to work for Kurt, but I reached out as I'm staying elsewhere in Barossa Valley. Kurt was super accommodating of me visiting the farm, helping with the sheep, and he has been inviting me for social events, which I really appreciate given I don't know many people here. Kurt's home is lovely, the surroundings are beautiful, his dog will be your best friend, and his lamb chops in the airfryer are top notch. Also it's been so nice to meet another traveller, with an open mindset and wild stories from around the world. Hope to see more of you before my time here is over!

I stayed with the family for almost two weeks and had a really wonderful time. Most of my work was in the garden, doing small painting jobs around the house or cleaning windows. The work was really fair and varied, and I always felt comfortable. The family is super kind and welcoming. Ricky taught me how to make empanadas, which was really fun, and we also went paddle playing all together since he is a paddle trainer. Natalia is an international lawyer and has many interesting stories to tell, it was always nice to listen to her. Juli is an amazing cook and especially around Christmas she spent a lot of time in the kitchen preparing a delicious Christmas dinner. At Christmas, a lot of family came together at the house and it turned into a small but very lovely celebration. I also spent a lot of time by the pool with Marcos, just relaxing and talking. During my Workaway I also met a very good friend of the family, Cecilia. She needed help on her farm, so after my Workaway with the family I ended up staying with her for more than another week. This was a really special experience for me.😊

What a pleasure to host the lovely Marco and Denise! They were so kind, sincere, humble and helpful. Proactive in getting things done, eager to learn, inquisitive and able quickly to integrate into our family. 5 years on and we are still in touch, we have met up in Italy and I hope we will maintain a friendship for years to come. Marco and Denise are a delightful couple, you would be hard pressed to find anything not to like about them.

I am so grateful to have met Violeta 💛 We shared such good moments together it was like living with family for almost a month! She was so understanding, caring and I loved her openness in general 🌻 I feel I made a long term friend on this trip. When we worked, we really worked in collaboration together as a team and that felt so meaningful to me. She took such good care of me and we took care of eachother. And her cooking is amazing 😍 looking forward to seeing Violeta again 💗

I had an amazing volunteering experience in San Pedro, where I stayed for about a month and a half. From the very beginning, the relationship with the other volunteers and the managers was extremely friendly and welcoming. Everyone made me feel at home, and the atmosphere was truly like being part of a big family.

Where do I start... it was an amazing experience. I've spent close to 2 weeks with Tree and enjoyed every single day. If I could I would have stayed longer. Tree is a very interesting person - a lot to learn from - and always happy to help wherever needed. It is THE perfect opportunity to connect with nature in a new way. Highly recommend volunteering with Tree!!!

10/10 of us for the one month we spent at Bird Island! If you want to be in a remote location where you can find gorgeous picture perfect beaches all for yourself, spot beautiful wildlife (toucans, sloths, colourful frogs) and be in a gorgeous hotel with great amenities and nice pool then this place is for you. Apart from the beautiful setting, that the owners Mari and Kit spend a lot of time making it a beautiful as they can, you also have the managers which are awesome and accommodating and the friendly locals who you can get to know well and understand more about the Panama culture. The volunteer accommodation isn't 5 star but it's a nice building in the middle of the jungle, you at times have to open all the doors and windows and make sure you have fresh air as it can get humid but we had our own room and we made it work! we got to do some Yoga when it was on for free as well and we did it a few times on our own in the many platforms and yoga spaces that they have. Getting to town takes about 45 mins so your days off you get to explore all the other islands and the main town which are awesome. Overall we highly recommend it to people that want to have the beautiful views, the nature, the un crowded beaches but be happy to be somewhere remote and also bring something positive to the place! 😍

We had a great stay with Prescilla, Kelvin and the kids! It was our first workaway experience as a family and we really enjoyed our time. We liked the work a lot, we helped getting the campground area ready ant even though it rained a lot we checked out a few nearby beaches. We were able to organize our time in a way that suited us. We also ate together several times, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The four of them are incredibly nice people, and it's a pleasure to spend time with them! Thank you very much :)

We spent two marvelous weeks at Kari's and Per's place which is truly a magical one. They welcomed us warmly into their home and we enjoyed the inspiring conversations, their sense of humor and way of living. Both have lots to tell as well to share and we cherished their stories. We immediately fell in love with their adorable dogs Kia and Snø, who always are up for a cuddle and followed us around. The garden with it's several terasses, beautiful spots and Kari's knitted art work is absolutely stunning - a piece of paradise on earth, whom both put their heart and soul into it. We enjoyed working here, starting off easily in the morning, taking lunch together and continuing afterwards. Juli repaired several parts of a stone path and joined Per's passionate fountain project, while I cleared out a big forestry area of the garden. Kari always checked on us whether we are fine whilst working and on rainy days we would take it slowly. Our room was just perfect with a comfortable double bed and private bathroom attached to it. We really felt at home. Together with Kari, we would sometimes cook together or simply enjoying her fabulous dishes. Kari and Per are very generous people as they took us out for food and drinks and they even introduced us to Norwegian TV shows and sport matches which we inthusiastically watched together. At the weekend we explored the area with our car, visiting Pisa, Lucca and also Volterra. There is much to see, though hard to beat the breathtaking view from our hosts veranda. We can't thank Kari and Per enough for our great time together and can only highly recommend their place.

The stay at Sunyata’s place was beautiful and felt short. I originally planned to stay a month but extended to 8 weeks in total. I felt really aligned with the project and am grateful to be a part of this amazing organization and help collecting our first aid kits donations, as well as sorting them. These donations are going to children’s home, hospitals, and animals in need overseas. From Nova Scotia there is a lot to be done which includes attending local markets to help raise funds, we sold jewellery and home made arts donated by locals. It was such a precious experience for me to be included in the community in East Lawrencetown, everyone I met through Sunyata was amazing and friendly. I’ve also enjoyed my time taking care of the animals in house and house sitting while Sunyata was away. Other than that, we organized the things in house, especially the different rooms and cooked meals together. Brainstorming ideas to make the first aid kit documentary for the project was another rewarding project we’ve done together. It took tens of hours of work but the result was amazing. This was my first workaway experience and I am so glad that Sunyata took me in and together we’ve helped each other on many different projects and things. I came to Nova Scotia without barely knowing anyone, but now I am leaving with friendships made along this journey and am able to call this place a home that I can always return to! Thank you Sunny for an unforgettable, challenging yet profound experience at your house and community!

Valerie has been a incredible Workawayer for our B&B and for the farm. She was good at everything that we would offer her to do! She's an hard worker when it's time to do more physical job and also has a touch of precision and care when the job is more delicate, like cleaning room or the kitchen. She liked doing different task all the time and was very autonomous for the rest. You are welcome here anytime if you want to come back! Thanks Valerie.

I spent 3 weeks at your sanctuary and I wish I could have stayed longer! You were kind and understanding, and you gave me time to adjust and learn. This was my first Workaway and solo trip, and I was able to learn and experience a lot. Not everything was easy. This job is not just about cuddling and petting dogs; it's also about learning their communication and how to interact with them. They are very sweet, but they behave differently in a pack and that was a very important lesson for me. I learned how to use my voice and body language for communication. I appreciate you a lot for what you do for your animals. Every day, you give your best so they can live the best life possible. Even with all that work, you found time to cook us delicious meals and tell us stories about the animals. Thank you for this long- lasting memory and for hosting me!

Clem proved himself to be a Workaway gem in the 3 weeks he was here. First day he started by making me a new clothes line - the other one blew down in a storm and I've been without for months - until Clem came along. Then he spent most of the rest of his time here building a pallet shed camp toilet - using recycled windows and timber - this was after digging out a clay bank (with the rest of the team) and making a rammed earth platform for the shed. The building is just great - Clem is a talented carpenter - finding things that fit together and going with the flow of my ever changing mind. He stayed on longer than first intended so that he could complete the basic structure of the shed - windows, roof and weather proof walls. I'm very happy that he chose my place to put his creative woodworking talents to good use. Not only was he a hard worker but he was a lovely friendly guy, who got on with everyone else here. I have no hesitation in recommending Clem to any fur hosts or employers. He is welcome back here any time and I wish him well with his travels in New Zealnd..

We had such a nice time with Cony and Michel! It is amazing to see how much work they have put into their piece of land over the years, and we loved being able to help out with some bio construction. Cony and Michel are incredibly welcoming and they were very patient with our level of Spanish, it was a great place for us to practice the language. There are some lovely dogs and alpacas to make friends with too. We can't forget to mention the food which was absolutely amazing, best food we have had at a workaway! Great varied food, loads of veggies, a great place for vegan travelers. If we are ever back in Chile we would love to come back.

Hosting Raban and Johanna was a truly positive experience for us. They are a very respectful, friendly, and reliable couple who quickly adapted to the rhythm of the hostel. They followed instructions carefully and paid great attention to detail, which made their help very valuable from day one. They showed genuine care for the place, kept everything organized, and interacted kindly with both guests and staff. Their calm attitude and teamwork created a pleasant atmosphere, and we felt we could fully trust them with their responsibilities. We are thankful for their support and would happily recommend them to other hosts looking for dependable and considerate volunteers.

Elisabeth contacted me as she was interested in seeing my farm and the sheep, having had some experience back home in Denmark. We met at the farm and straight away I knew Elisabeth was a lovely individual. Kind, respectful and extremely creative, (ask about her art!). She came back a second time to help muster the sheep and experience what it's like on a real Aussie sheep farm. We had a lot of fun and I highly recommend her to any host who is looking for some help!

I've always loved and still love to work as a teacher in these camps! I have been working for six weeks altogether in Liddes and Braunwald and I can't wait to return in a few weeks. The workload is pretty intense and you might need a bit of a break after doing the camps, but it's an amazing experience which is 100% worth it. I learned so much from working with a diverse group of colleagues and children and the bonds you form as well as friendships you find are incredible. Furthermore, those camps always hold space for kids who struggle in their private life, it is almost guaranteed that they find great and empathetic teachers among the staff who cheer them up and form a special bond with them. Even though it really is a ton of work, those camps and some of the amazing people you'll meet already feel like family to me. Keep in mind that the experience will be a lot different, depending on which location, season, group/group-size, etc. you will work at/with, but to me, it's always 100% worth it!
