Description
Our hostel is a fun, laid back, social hostel in the centre of San Pedro on beautiful Lake Atitlan. Rated the #1 hostel on Lake Atitlan. A year ago I purchased it with a group of my best friends - also backpackers who have stayed at/worked at hostels around the world. We're super passionate about our work here and are looking to run the hostel with a group of fun volunteers who want to help create a welcoming and adventurous environment and who love to work hard and play harder.
We currently have 8 paid local staff. This includes 4 cleaners, 2 night guards, a gardener and 1 maintenance worker.
We typically have between 6-8 volunteers, so it always feels like we're a big family hanging out :)
Special Positions:
-We're looking for people who want to have fun and help with serving our guests. If you can commit to a month, and you want to come and enjoy all that our hostel has to offer, please send us a message.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
San Pedro is a very small town and we work directly with local businesses like Spanish schools, local restaurants, craft stores, and other hostels in town. The town is one big community and during your time here you will come to see why this place is so magical, the way all different people of all backgrounds live together in one loving community makes this a culturally rich experience!
Help
Your role would essentially be to have a great time and contribute to the good vibes. We have a full time local staff of cleaners, gardeners, and maintenance workers. So we'll never ask you to do any of that, outside of cleaning up after yourself :)
We ask volunteers to help 25 hours a week - which may include: event/party planning, building/construction projects (only if you're interested), showing guests around town, leading events/bar crawls, and anything else you think would be fun to do with guests. Basically, having a good time and keeping the guests happy!Languages spoken

You'll be given a bed in the volunteer dorm which is a sturdy bunk bed with your own locker. Our kitchen is available for you to use to cook your own meals at any time.
Additionally, benefits from all of our partners hostels and businesses will be available to you including free accommodation, free event entry, discounted tours and travel to multiple locations throughout Guatemala. What else ...
We encourage our volunteers to travel to our partner hostels and check them out! We have partners in Antigua, El Paredon, Semuc Champay, and Flores. Or chill at the lake we work with hostels in different locations around the lake like Free Cerveza or Dream Boat.

As an artist I cannot recommend this place enough. I spent two weeks and I loved every second of it. I was free to paint whatever I wanted, however I wanted, whenever I wanted, wherever I wanted. I ended up creating 4 Murals and I have to say there really is nothing better than painting with the view of the beautiful lake. All… read more
I absolutely loved it, the friendliness of the staff really made me feel welcome and it wasn't long until I felt like part of the team even though my volunteering as an artist differed from the usual barwork/reception volunteers.… read more
