    Description

Our hostel is a fun, laid back, social hostel in the center of San Pedro on beautiful Lake Atitlan. Previously rated the #1 hostel on Lake Atitlan but has been closed due to COVID. I recently purchased it with a group of my best friends - also backpackers who have stayed at/worked at hostels around the world. We're super passionate about our work here and are looking to reopen the hostel with a group of fun volunteers who want to help create a welcoming and adventurous environment.
We currently have 9 paid local staff. This includes 6 cleaners, 1 cook, 1 night guard, and 1 maintenance worker.
We typically have between 6-8 volunteers, so it always feels like we're a big family hanging out :)

    Special Positions:
    - (Currently Filled) We are actively looking for a volunteer who has experience with social media, marketing, event planning, and scheduling, if you are interested in this position and can stay for at least one month please mention it in your response
    - (2/2 Filled) We are also specifically looking for artists to paint murals and photographers to take pictures for our online profiles. These positions are separate from long term volunteers and we will provide free accommodation for these as well.

Note: Due to a large amount of inquiries and no shows we're only accepting volunteers who can start within 2 weeks.

San Pedro is a very small town and we work directly with local businesses like Spanish schools, local restaurants, craft stores, and other hostels in town.

Your role would essentially be to have a great time and contribute to the good vibes. We have a full time local staff of cleaners, cooks, and maintenance workers. So we'll never ask you to do any of that, outside of cleaning up after yourself :)

We ask volunteers to help 25 hours a week - which may include: reception, event/party planning, building/construction projects (only if you're interested), showing guests around town, leading events/bar crawls, and anything else you think would be fun to do with guests.
