    Description

    Hey! Nice to meet you. I’m Miguel, born in Portugal, in my thirties, splitting my time between Lisbon and the Algarve.

    Whenever I can, I escape back to Portimão: sunny weather, beach days, coastal trails and the relaxed rhythm of life by the ocean. It's where I feel most alive.

    I live in a traditional Algarve house in Portimão, within walking distance of cafés, markets, restaurants, bakeries and everyday amenities. The beach is only a short drive away and the region is full of spectacular scenery.

    Within easy reach of the house, you'll find:

    • Endless coastal trails, dramatic cliffs, hidden coves and some of Europe's most beautiful beaches;
    • The Arade River waterfront (2 km), perfect for walks, photography and watching the changing light over the water;
    • Praia da Rocha (3 km), with its vast golden beach, dramatic cliffs and spectacular sunsets;
    • The stunning beaches of Vau (3.5 km), Três Castelos andTrês Irmãos, all within a short distance;
    • The Alvor boardwalk and nature reserve (6 km), ideal for walking, birdwatching and sunsets;
    • Ferragudo (4 km), a charming fishing village overlooking the Arade estuary;
    • Surf, kayaking, paddleboarding (stand up paddle), boat trips and more..... 3 km away;
    • The world famous Benagil Caves (15 km), one of Portugal's most iconic natural landmarks.

    Whether you enjoy hiking, photography, swimming, exploring nature or simply spending time by the ocean, there is always something beautiful to discover nearby.

    I'm relaxed, easy going and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I love peace and simle things like spending time in nature, swimming in the ocean, heading off on a road trip, being sourrounded by forests and everything adventurous and outdoorsy. I'm also passionate about regenerative farming, photography, books, vanlife and giving old spaces a new life through renovation and creative projects.

    At the moment, the house is going through a gradual transformation, with lots of small projects focused on improving, reorganising and refreshing different spaces. My animals are currently staying with my parents while the work is underway, allowing me to focus fully on the renovation.

    The help needed is practical and varied: organising spaces, paiting, moving furniture, decluttering, creative DIY projects and general help around the house. The usual exchange is around 4–5 hours per day, five days per week, leaving plenty of free time to enjoy the Algarve at your own pace.

    Travel and visas are your responsibility. The train station commig from Lisbon and Faro airport is 5 min walking distance from the house and the bus station 10 min away.

    If you're looking for a friendly base, from which to explore the Algarve, enjoy nature, meet new people and contribute to meaningful projects, I'd love to hear from you.Thank you for reading.

    Staying here is relaxed and friendly. The kind of place where you can enjoy the Algarve at your own rhythm.

    Here, you can enjoy:

    • sunrise or sunset walks along the cliffs;
    • discovering beautiful beaches and quiet spots;
    • cooking together now and then;
    • sharing music, books, ideas and travel stories;
    • learning Portuguese expressions;
    • exploring the coast, caves, viewpoints and little villages;
    • slow evenings reading or relaxing.

    I’m happy to show you some of my favourite places, recommend local gems and help you experience a more authentic side of the Algarve, not just the tourist version.

  • Help

    Help

    I host people who enjoy helping around the home in a practical and creative way while experiencing life in the Algarve.

    Current projects may include:

    • helping organise and improve different areas of the house;
    • decluttering and sorting items in the garage;
    • painting walls and refreshing spaces;
    • moving furniture and helping rearrange rooms;
    • creative DIY projects and decorative improvements;
    • general cleaning and upkeep.

    I appreciate people who are independent, respectful, tidy and happy to contribute to a shared living environment.

    If you have experience in DIY or creative renovation, that’s a big plus! I love learning new techniques and working as a team on small improvements to the house.

The image shows a beautiful sunset over the ocean, casting golden light across calm waves, sandy cliffs, and grassy dunes for a peaceful, serene scene.
Viewed from inside a sandy cave, the image shows a bright, serene beach and calm sky at sunset, with warm sunlight illuminating the cave walls.
This is a clean, empty kitchen with wooden cabinets, tiled walls, a stainless steel sink, marble countertops, and beige checkered flooring. There is also a shelf.
