    Description

Hi I'm Amber an Australian living in Greece for the last 13 years and my husband is Rafail who is Greek. We are a married couple in our 40's and have a little boy 'Iosif'( who is 4 !! . (super cheeky & loves to play hide & seek..)
We consider ourselves 'semi off grid' people who have a house in Evia, not far from Chalkida.
Our house is not completely finished and we continue to build it by ourselves.
Incorporating natural building, self sustainability and a lot of time, effort and helping hands.
Now as a new family we are continuing to establish the gardens with permaculture practices .
Our house runs completely on battery & solar power is within olive fields and is very close to the beautiful sea and mountains of Evia. It is on a single large block of land with a few neighbours.

Upcoming spring needs include cleaning the winter vegetable gardens, revitalising the soil, seeding, planting, general light house maintenance and painting. We are also planning to start the renovations on our kitchen and bathroom coming out of the baby years and getting back to continuing the house.

We cultivate and collect wild herbs and flowers to make our full home pharmacy of teas, creams & oils plus try to make as many homemade sauces, jams and dried foods from our garden as possible.
Amber works in herbalism and holistic seminars
Rafail is a tradesman of all types after building the house that we now live in by himself and years as an electrician. He has every tool you can think of.
We have many ideas, enthusiasm and experience for living with the nature and as permaculture practices say
'many hands make light work' so we always needs help!

In Ambers recent past life I managed a permaculture center in the Peloponnese for 6 years involving lots and lots of volunteers and love the benefits of exchanging energy, knowledge and learning from each other. There I built a natural little 'hobbit' house, established a poly culture fruit orchard & herbal medicinal gardens. Now I works in herbalism and am the founder of Plant-ed holistic seminars.
Rafail is an electrician, handy man & built everything here himself over the last 15 years.
We enjoy good food a lot! Healthy, organic & when possible form the garden or the local bio street market.

As we are a family with no tv... (which we like) our nights are relatively quiet during the week ~ books, games, movies, watering gardens, dinner & we personally sleep earlyish as our days are full. We Can host up to 2 volunteers., Sometimes you would also need to enjoy your own company, chilling in the garden, a walk into town or in the warmer months we like to go to the beach for an early evening swim is always nice...we have a pushbike you can use or your always welcome to join us.

There is many nature activities to explore and we are close to other places / cities that can be reached for day trips by bus if you feel like going somewhere else. We both know greece very well.
