    Description

    Hello!

We are a warm and welcoming family of eight, spread over three generations, living in the beautiful village of Boijl in the north of the Netherlands. Our farmhouse is located close to the stunning Drents-Friese Wold National Park, one of the largest nature reserves in the country. We enjoy the peace and space of rural life and love sharing it with people from all over the world.

We are not a business or an organisation. We are simply a family working together to improve our farmhouse and land while enjoying nature, our animals and family life

    Our Project

We are looking for someone who enjoys helping with a variety of tasks around our farmhouse. No two days are the same, and there is always something different to do.

We would love to welcome someone who:

    * Loves nature and enjoys peaceful surroundings.
    * Feels comfortable around dogs, cats and chickens.
    * Likes varied work and is willing to help where needed.
    * Is friendly, respectful and independent.
    * Has a driving licence (would be good for you, because we live in a rural area where shops and other facilities are not within walking distance).

We hope you’ll feel at home here and enjoy becoming part of our family during your stay.

We look forward to meeting you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We enjoy meeting people from different countries and learning about their cultures, traditions and ways of life. We believe that sharing experiences, stories and meals together is one of the best parts of the Workaway experience.

As a family, we live close to nature and value kindness, respect and a balanced lifestyle. While we are not religious, we do have a spiritual outlook on life and appreciate meaningful conversations about nature, personal growth and different perspectives. At the same time, we fully respect everyone’s own beliefs and way of life.

During your stay, you’ll experience Dutch family life in the countryside, surrounded by forests, wildlife and farm animals. We’d also be happy to show you the beautiful Drents-Friese Wold National Park and introduce you to the local area.

We hope that by living and working together, we can all learn from one another and create lasting memories.

    Help

    Possible tasks include:

    * Gardening, mowing the grass and pruning trees and shrubs.
    * Helping in our vegetable garden.
    * Building or repairing fences for our chickens.
    * Looking after our dogs, cats and chickens.
    * Small repair tasks and painting around the house.

We appreciate people who enjoy practical tasks, but enthusiasm and a positive attitude are much more important than experience.
