    Description

Hej to all free-minded and creative humans and families!
We planted a seed into the soil of a beautiful old farm on the also very beautiful island of Bornholm. This seed wants to grow into a creative hive, a cultural melting pot, a self-sustained cosmos and an inspiring and warm-hearted playground for humans of all ages. Eventually and organically it wants to root into a stable community of self-directed humans and (homeschooling) families, who believe in the power of co-creation and solidarity. Children are at the core of this community - we co-create together with them, and encourage them to follow their innate passions and dreams.

To nourish the seeds we are now inviting:
    > two 'full-time' workaways (can also be couples or families) from mid-April until September (please scroll down for more info)
    > and two families who resonate with this vision to come, stay and creatively play with us on this land from mid-April until the 20th of June

Communal family hive: (mid April until 20th of June)
We are inviting open-hearted, creative and tolerant families from anywhere in the world to communally cocreate some of the first vital infrastructure for this vision!
We are envisioning to have two 'family workdays' per week - we start after lunch and end with communal dinner - the hours in between we fill with magical cocreation. In the communities I lived this was always a highlight for me: to work together in a group, with the children integrated, can be so much fun, meaningful and an amazing hands-on learning experience of solidarity and the power of teamwork. And afterwards we celebrate together with a good meal and quality time around the fire...
Communal tasks will be: starting a communal garden, clearing spaces, beautifying the place, what we come up with...

This is particularly interesting for families, who want to explore Bornholm as a possible base as you will also have 5 days to explore the island and homeschooling infrastructure on your own terms...We are happy to help with sharing our experience and tips!
Of course you are also very welcome to enjoy this place, and the community we will be...We hope there will be many cocreated activities, cosy evenings with fire-cooked dinners, music and sharing of stories, ideas and values, groups of exploring children and moments full of aliveness...

We offer accommodation with double bed/family bed in a circus wagon (up to 3 people), a caravan (up to two) and two big (5m diameter) canvas tents (suitable for families).

From now on until September, we are furthermore inviting two 'full-time' workawayers or couples/families with handy hands and a creative mind to help us establish (off-grid) structure. We recycle a lot and as much as we can (Bornholm is great for that), and many of the projects will be based on repurposed materials. So it's great, if you enjoy that, too!
We are offering accommodation and food for an exchange of 4-5 hours per day, 5 days a week.

    ......

A little about us and the land:

We are a swedish/german family with four boys: Loke (12), Elis (10) and Ro (6) and Joe Eldar (4). We are homeschooling, very lively and creative!
Daniel is a glasblower and musician, Anne is a designer, artist and doula. We have organised cultural events for many years and believe deeply in the value of bringing people together and weaving music and warm atmosphere into presence.
Our boys are all very different in personality, but share a love for creative projects, nature adventures, lego and games...they are open-minded and speak english, german, swedish and danish.
We are warm-hearted humans, who believe in the importance of community and self-directed living, embedded in nature.
We value honest and direct communication, tolerance and solidarity. And any kind of creative expression!

We recently found home in a beautiful 2,6ha old gård/farm a bit outside of Klemensker, quite central on Bornholm. The land and its buildings immediately spoke to us and our long-held vision of creating this co-creation community became vividly alive in the wide fields, the embrace of the forest, the sweet garden and the big buildings inviting for endless possibilities...The land holds the potential to be self-sustained and off-grid.

Bornholm is an interesting place with a growing homeschooling/unschooling community, and very strong diverse nature.

    ......

If this resonates with you, we are happy to hear from you!
With much curiosity about this spring and who we will meet and create with,
anne, Daniel with Loke, Elis, Ro and Joe Eldar

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

This will be an interesting learning field in communal living and cocreation, both for the adults and the children! We will be exploring the power of teamwork, the magic of cocreation and are invited to share our passions and knowledge with others. It will be what we create! I am quite sure it will be valuable!

To create systems of support and community, and self-sustained structure is the hope we can create in this dysfunctional world! That's what we believe and would love to share and discuss with you...

We imagine this journey will also bring a lot of interesting challenges to solve and grow from, many new skills, hopefully atleast as much enjoyment and feeling of achievement...

The nature on Bornholm is beautiful and very diverse, with amazing coastlines, trollish forests and open landscapes...it's possible to go hiking, biking, fishing...
Bornholm has more than 150 homeschooling families already, and is constantly growing.
Here you'll have a good base to get info for your exploration of the island and the homeschooling network.

  • Help

    Help

On the 'family workdays' we will choose a project to collectively work on, for example building a garden or setting up a space for creative workshops, etc. Depending on need, we might want to break down the project in activities for different ages...
Some people will be preparing the communal dinner.

In the meantime, You are very warmly invited to initiate any kind of activity for the group, if you feel like it...anything from Yoga to building a treehut, to facilitating a sharing circle or a circus workshop - it will be deeply appreciated!

    .......

For these, who will work with us on a daily basis (5 days a week):
In April we will prepare the tents for the other workaway families: building platforms, and a toilet/shower station
From May we will create different projects from recycled materials.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Even though the farm is remotely located, one can walk to the local supermarket on a beautiful trail along forest, fields and a big lake.
Klemensker itself is quite central (north) and many places are quite fast to reach (10-15 minutes).

You are welcome to use our car (when available) to go for little adventures on the island...we can also provide a bike (there are biketracks all around the island)!
There is public transport available (busses) with a busstop close to the farm.

Bornholm can be easily (and usually cheaply) reached by ferry () from Sassnitz (D), Ystad (SE) or Køge (DK)
We are happy to assist with booking and can fetch you from the ferry!
