Description
Important note: We are currently welcoming someone until 25 September 2025!
We are an open-minded, warm, and creative family experienced with home exchanges, who love to discover, share, and welcome others with simplicity and kindness.
We live in a quiet neighborhood in Québec City — just a short walk from the beautiful St. Lawrence River, with bike paths and nature nearby, and only minutes from downtown. It’s the best of both worlds: peaceful surroundings with easy access to city life
Our home is full of everyday life, projects, laughter, and kids’ energy! We have two children (5 and 10 years old).
We’d be happy to welcome a Workawayer into our daily life, and would primarily appreciate help to support family life — assisting with daily tasks, and contributing to the overall organization of the household.
Depending on the season and your interests, you could also take part in a variety of creative or hands-on projects: small furniture renovations, general home maintenance, light gardening, or fun personalized projects.
We speak French at home, but Maxime is fluent in English, and I (Marie) also speak Spanish —french or all these languages are welcome! We love discovering other cultures, sharing meals and conversations, and working on simple yet meaningful projects.
You will have your own private room and be welcomed as part of the family. If you enjoy a peaceful lifestyle, being around children, and sharing your creativity, you will quickly feel at home here 🤍
Looking forward to meeting you!

We are originally from France and have been living in Québec for 6 years, giving us a rewarding experience of blending two cultures. Hosting a Workawayer with us is above all a rich human and cultural exchange. You will get to discover our daily way of life through simple activities, family routines, and shared moments.
We enjoy organizing friendly gatherings where you can meet close friends and neighbors, giving you a genuine insight into the local community. Depending on the season, you may also participate in outdoor activities, cultural outings, or typical regional events.
We are happy to share our skills with you. We also love learning from other cultures, exchanging recipes, languages (French, English, Spanish), traditions, and broadening our worldview.
By welcoming people from diverse backgrounds, we hope to enrich our family, spark our curiosity, and create lasting bonds based on respect and mutual discovery.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
With us, you’ll take part in family life by helping with daily chores and the organization of the household.
We also place great importance on creativity, and you’ll have the chance to contribute to a variety of small practical projects, such as furniture renovation, DIY or home improvements, gardening and outdoor maintenance, or other creative projects.
Some tasks will be carried out together in a spirit of exchange and sharing, but autonomy is also valued so that everyone can find their own rhythm and living space.Languages

Maxime is fluent in English and practises a lot at work. Marie speaks a little Spanish but intermediate English. Our son is in 5th year and has a good level of schooling. Our daughter is at nursery school and currently only speaks French. It would be great to have someone who speaks English, French or Spanish.Accommodation
You will have a clean, private, and secure room in our home, with an adjoining bathroom, where you can comfortably rest after your busy days. The space is quiet and cozy.
Regarding food, we enjoy sharing meals and cooking together. We provide meals, and you’re invited to participate in preparing and enjoying homemade dishes.
If you have any questions about the accommodation or food, feel free to ask! What else ...
We live in Sainte-Foy (Quebec), in a peaceful, leafy neighbourhood with good public transport links. Nearby you'll find parks, cycle paths, shops and everything you need to enjoy neighbourhood life.
We love to travel around Quebec and we're big on home exchanges. If you're staying with us for a longer period, we might take you away for a weekend to a lakeside cottage, or somewhere new we haven't explored yet!
In the summer, Quebec City is very lively: festivals, outdoor shows, swimming in the rivers, hiking, public markets, bike rides... we can lend you bikes. There's always something to discover, between nature and culture.
In winter, we like to take advantage of the joys of the season: ice skating, snowshoeing, tobogganing, hot chocolates and a cosy atmosphere at home. Quebec City becomes a snowy postcard setting, with the Carnival, the lights and the winter activities.A little more information

Maxime works in IT, and both he and I work remotely from home. Our space is well adapted for teleworking, with reliable internet and quiet areas to focus. We understand the needs of digital nomads and are happy to support a good balance between work and our collaborative projects
Can possibly accept pets
We don't have any pets, Marie is allergic to cats. However, all the family love dogs and we can discuss this if you would like to travel with your dog. Please note that the house is not fenced.
