Description
Hei, we are a small family farm in the north of Norway in a dogsledding paradise with our 21 alaskan huskies . I, Aggy, am from France and my partner Tomáš is from Czechia, our little boy Niklas is only a few months old. We have lived in Norway for 7 years but 2 years ago we settled down in our dream farm, one hour away from Tromsø on the beautiful Malangen peninsula . We spend most of our time outdoors, hiking, foraging and training our sled dogs for competition but mostly for fun .
There is no bad weather here, only bad clothing, as we say up north . -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We have been travellers before so we are always eager to meet new people and talk about everything.
We are always happy to share what we have learnt about sleddogs in our 10 years experience working with them and about the surroundings in arctic nature.
It will be of course possible for you to join us for quad training or sledding, according to the weather.
We speak English, French, Czech and Norwegian . -

Help
This is our first try as host but we have been workawayers for some years.
We would like to get some help with taking care of the dogs and 2 pigs.
That would be feeding and watering twice a day and poop scooping once a day . Maybe adding some extra straw in their beds if necessary .
We will provide some clothing to be used in the kennel if needed.
Training dogs can also be part of the help, but only for people who are comfortable with it .
These will not be everyday tasks as we only need help and have these as our own daily tasks.
We can discuss and adapt schedules according to needs and conditions. -

Accommodation
You will have own bedroom and a bathroom for yourself in the main house and share kitchen and living room with us .
We don't have to share every meal, let's discuss what works best for you and for us, whether it is common shopping or if you prefer to get an allowance and buy your own . -
What else ...
There are buses going to and from Tromsø stopping close by and we can offer pick up and drop off if necessary .
Lots of hiking/skiing possibilities in the area depending on the season.
We also have a small boat on the lake right by the house that can be used for fishing .
Our animals are very important to us, we live together with them and they should receive the best care, no matter the weather or how tired you are.
Also these are not like ordinary pets, they eat raw meat and fish and live in a pack where hierarchy is the rule, it's important to respect and understand it. -
